A kid with an adult singing voice😮. She is simply terrific👍👍👍!!!
Yes we tend to think "adult" voice but Ella F. & Sarah V. et al were "young" when their careers began, if you think about it. Still, this rich full sound is heartening to hear!
She has her own style. Normally you would say there is a bit of Sarah Vaughn or a bit of Billy Holliday but this lady is her own artiste. Sublime and beautiful.
She has a lovely voice. I especially like the rich low notes. So wonderful to see father and daughter performing together.
The quality of her voice is amazingly mature embodied with a very classic essence. Congratulations to father and daughter. What a gift!🎉00❤
She has a lovely voice, indeed, a bit more mature than you would expect for her age. Lovely tone and timbre. Her phrasing and styling are pretty good but still works in progress, but, all in all, young Ms. Marsalis has a great future as a jazz vocalist, in my view. The next generation of this talented family arises!

@@clw4430I appreciate you keeping an eye out for eugenicist thinking. It’s important to keep in mind that genetics are a very real component along with environment to explain development of talent. Music is musical, intellectual, spiritual, physical etc. The science of genetics has been abused and misrepresented as an explanation of differences in academic and economic development between groups of people classified by the fictitious pseudoscientific social construct of “race”
Genes are real. They just are not everything. And genes certainly do not explain differences between ethnic groups

Some young women can develop their adult voice before age 11. As far as her musicianship, she must have listened (and hung around with) many jazz musicians, with a strong helping of genetics!
Not true,at 11 years old I had no singing voice at all,as woman and men age the voice changes drastically after puberty and sometimes it takes longer to develop our vocal cords ,I became professional singer at 19 and my voice was still developing …

His daughter can really sing. I closed my eyes and it was hard to reconcile what I was hearing with how young she looks. (I googled her age and could not find it, but saw a video from 2017 in which she looks about 8. I would guess she's about 16.) She sounds awesome. The Marsalis's got the incredible music genes and the family legacy and culture doesn't hurt.

How old is this young woman? Attended a concert in a winery in California on Summer….my friends were the team who put the concerts in winery… Your group was playing that day. Tom had ask me to attend, when my boss couldn’t. I brought a friend. Santana, slipped in the seat in front of me just before the show started. I knew him, but knew his wife better. We spoke for a moment, but he was being low key and was clearly there just to see you …no small talk. Before the performance, Tom, one of the producers asked me if I wanted to meet you. I said no, My boss then an important politician hired talent for his big fundraisers and a good half of them were total Aholes. I was never a star chaser. I was a good 25years older-than you. I had brought an Asian friend with me, because she loved jazz. After the show ended, Tom caught us on the way out and insisted we come back stage to meet you. I am Black and my friend is Korean. Tom went behind a curtain and I think asked you or maybe told you we wanted to meet you. We didn’t. But we heard you say loud and clear, you were not interested in meeting any groupies. You had looked at us. Tom came out red faced and embarrassed because there was no way we did not hear you. To this day, I have no idea why he insisted we meet you. We thought you were a rude Ahole and after that I never listen to your music again.
Move forward several years and I am at the San Francisco Opera and during intermission I go out for a drink and bump into some old friends, wealthy benefactors of the opera and their guest for the evening is your brother, who was as gracious and charming as you were rude. But I am sure you know the contrast between your public persona and his… your daughter is lovely.
