I switched from Android to iOS about 8 years ago. My gateway drug was surprisingly the OG 12.9inch iPad Pro from 2015. That thing was sooo good (iOS was super smooth and stable) that it finally convinced that to jump ship to the “dark side”. Picked up an iPhone 7 Plus shortly after, then the Apple Watch Series 2, then the OG AirPods, then the 12inch MacBook (I wish they would revive this with an M Series chip) and it just expanded from there. Fast forward to the current time and I still have no desire to go back to Android at all. The Foldables looked tempting at first but the thought of losing the Apple Ecosystem immediately turned me off from getting it. It may be a walled garden yes but it’s an incredibly beautiful one at that and I like staying here 😅

My ecosystem did not see its worth until i got my first MacBook in 2015. Within the next decade, Apple made it the most friendly user experience. I own an iPhone, MacBook Air M3, Apple Watch, iPad Pro M2, Beats Studio Pro, AirPods Pro, and will continue to grow.

I’m one of those strange people who have both the Apple and Samsung ecosystems. I have an iPhone and a ZFold, and iPad Pro and a Tab S9 Ultra. I have AirPods and Galaxy Buds. I have an Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch. Beyond that I have a pair of Samsung TV’s. I do have Macs, but no Samsung laptop. My home setup is all HomeKit, though, with no Bixby.

I finalized my apple ecosystem when I got a MacBook pro. I was 13 years on android (2010-2023), the last 11 of those years on Samsung and made the switch early 2023 to apple and have not looked back. Love my decision on switching.

I’m in the Apple ecosystem for a long time now. It’s my preferred choice to use Apple products and services. I’m not blind to other companies, though. Once in a while I buy additional devices from other companies simply because I’m interested in what they are offering. Those devices aren’t replacements and/or daily drivers, they’re just products that I buy for my own curiosity. And finally, it doesn’t matter what brands you buy. As long as they suit your needs, that’s all that matters. We all have personal preferences and needs for a particular tech gadget. What’s your spending limit/budget? Do you want it or do you need it? What is the most important feature of a given tech gadget for you? And I can go on and on. Buy what suits you best and enjoy it as long as possible!

I am deep in the Apple Eco System, i love how all of the products are seamlessly integrated together, and how my wife and i can share between them, and CarPlay too! Even the lighting in my house. My first device goes back to the iPod Nano, then the iPhone 4…. I would say i am an Apple Fan Boy.

I have an iPhone 15, Macbook Air M2 with an Apple Mouse, iPad Air M1, Apple Pencil, Apple Watch Series 9, Airpods 3rd Gen, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods Max. I love how the ecosystem and its devices work for me. It makes my workflow and personal hobbies so much better. It is so worth it that I find it hard to go back to Android and/or Windows. I love how Apple carefully thinks about your case scenarios and the way they make me take care of my health and lifestyle.

Havent been an iPhone user since I went from the 5S to an S7 Edge (had Galaxy Nexus before the 5S). However I had the first iPad, iPad air, I'm on my 2nd iPad Pro and my 3rd MacBook Pro, and have AirPod Pro 2s. I think I'm going to finally make the jump and go from an S23 Ultra, to an iPhone 16 Pro Max, and eventually a watch (Ive had a Galaxy Watch 4 for a few years). With the great experience with my other devices and the 16 looking like a decent place to jump in, plus Ill be returning my phone to my carrier in a few months , the timing kind of works out! Sure there are some things from Android I will miss, but honestly 99 percent of what I do with my current phone is covered and much of that I think will feel better on a day to day basis on iOS.

I’ve been working on my health and I really think it’s going to help me kinda take it up a bit. Already lost 15 lb without tracking much the last cpl of months. Meanwhile I can already feel the whole “don’t let the watch down” on the fitness rings XD

I don't mind that is a close ecosystem. This is coming from an Android user who started using an iPhone with the 7. I use whatever is best for me at the moment. I'm not loyal to a company. I like to learn as much as I can from all tech. For now, I'm 95 percent Apple's only thing I'm missing is an Apple computer.

My Apple ecosystem journey began with an a iPhone 5C when I was about 13, then a few years later I got the 6. When my Mum upgraded her phone she gave me her old one which was a 6s, then in 2021 for my 16th birthday I got an IPhone 12 mini and an Apple Watch SE gen 1. For Christmas that year I got AirPods Pro gen 1, and finally a couple of months ago I got my MacBook Air M3 😁. I’m stoked with what I have but my 12 mini is starting to die on me, I’m thinking about either getting an iPhone 15 at a cheaper price once the 16 comes out or I might just go for the 16. It’ll be a Christmas present for myself 😂.

My first Apple product was a hand-me-down iPhone 6 and later an iPad 7 which I got after it served as the family tablet. I soon got my hands on a MacBook Air which made me fall in love with it and developed new hobbies. However, after being an Apple user for so long, I came to the conclusion that the MacBook (and AirPods) is what held it together. If you asked me, Android tablets and smartphones are way cooler for a similar price, the same cannot be said about laptops. The thought of switching to Samsung completely crossed my mind but I cannot pull the trigger because of their bad laptops. I ended up sticking with Apple, loving the MacBook everyday. I starting liking macOS for its uniformity across the OS and its hidden gems, the AirPods are also the best sounding and comfortable earbuds that I own. These 2 became the central of my ecosystem, not the iPhone or the iPad.

I was gifted with a mini ipad second generation and had a iPhone 6s with a mac air pro as a laptop. Then I had a applewatch se first generation. When my iPhone 6s conked out because of the battery, I switched to iphone se second generation. I am into the ecosystem even if i also into the google ecosystem but nothing beats the apple ecosystem. It is its durability and the updates that they have for the gadgets even it is already 4 or 5 years old.

  • @AmadeusAlmighty

I switched to Apple specifically for the ecosystem. Most of my digital life I have switched back and forth between Android and Apple based on whatever impressed me at the time of upgrade, but lately many of Google's decisions have been odd and a lot of services I depended on have been canceled. Even though they and Samsung are building their respective ecosystems, they still don't come close to the seamlessness and ease of Apple products. And when I finally bought my first Mac, I realized how much I dislike Windows, too.

    • @saalihon
      @saalihon 2 місяці тому +1

I think it is because Samsung does not have and operating system unlike Apple has MacOS, iOS and iPadOS which makes things seamless.

My Apple products (iPad pro watch iPhone pro max) are 3+ years old. What keeps me in the ecosystem is Apple Card and the fact I have started studying swift programming language.
I look at the fold 6 and I can see it replace my tablet and my phone. And with Dex can replace my computing device. But paying 40$ a month with a trade in is tough.

I travel for work and I always have my IPhone 13 Pro, M1 MacBook Pro, 12.9” IPad Pro, AirPods Pro, and Watch. The only thing I would change is the IPad, I’m going for an 11” Pro next time.

The Apple ecosystem has been great. The individual products work really well, and the blending of them are such that it's hard to think of being without it. I"m sure looking forward to further integration with Apple Intelligence and the new OS versions coming fall. Still rocking the OG HomePods, and even an old boombox attached to an AirPort Express streaming via AirPlay 2. I wish that I could take advantage of Final Cut's Multicam features, but this is where having to buy multiple Apple devices beyond my iPad Pro and iPhone is stretching on the side of ridiculous: I'm not going to pay for an extra iPhone or two just for Multicam filming. Anyway, my two cents.

I think Apple has the advantage of owning both software and hardware. I have galaxy watch, S24 and windows PC. I had a great walk on the weekend and I felt like checking my walks over time but I could only see that on my phone no the PC, and I was like it makes sense because Samsung do not have an operating system. So with the new advent of AI I think Apple will run away with it with personalised assistence.

For me, the most problematic thing about the Apple ecosystem is that some elements depend on others.
In my case, I would be really happy to get rid of my iPhone and MacBook Air and only keep an Apple Watch and an iPad, but the Apple Watch doesn’t work independently, and iPadOS is too restrictive for web development

  • @Darkman03

Great video! As cool as the ecosystem is, most of its moot as a windows user. MacOS is useless in my field unless I want to maintain a Mac AND a lab system for VMs. The loss of Intel Macs has driven me away from Apple products. Additionally, most creators highlight airdrop as a big thing, and in 10 years, my family used it once, thought it was neat, and returned to sending files via iMessage.
Apple products are great if you fall into the niche target audience or are a casual user, but intermediate professional use outside of creative work is hampered by their restrictions.

I was very anti-apple until 2013. Windows 8 was very popular and it was horrible. Also, I was living in China and windows was not a really good operating system to have. I knew I was gonna be in China for an unknown amount of time. I bought my first Mac in 2013 then in 2015 I bought an apple phone. I do a lot of international traveling and I really enjoy how I do not have any hiccups with using Apple internationally. Overtime I started to buy more apple products because they were more reliable. I temporarily switched back to android but lost my phone. It was an absolute nightmare because Google services was not working in the country where I lost the phone. I lost photos, notes, and everything that was stored on that phone. I decided to go back to Apple. I would love to switch to a new non-apple product in 2024, but I have so many Apple products it would be a nightmare.

The tragedy and fallacy of the apple ecosystem is that it consists of many great standalone products that do not work better together but rather are artificially worsened via software when paired with "outsider" devices.

It's like a mom who tells you youre not allowed to take a device outside the house. There is no reason why it wouldnt work outside other than that your mom will not allow it. But ppl incorrectly look at the ecosystem backwards. They think that the device works BECAUSE theyre inside and it cannot function properly outside. But it is simply the controlling abusive hand of apple that limits the usability when outside.

I would not call that an ecosystem, but more of cheap party tricks, or a "but" speach defect. What is that? So you talk about an ecosystem, then I will get an iPhone pro max to have a smaller thing to take notes on when I will not carry around my 13" iPad pro, and I will use the usb on my Original $400 apple keyboard to output the full 192/24 apple music to my dac, so I will not stress the iPad connector, while I will work on an Excel table... nothing fancy just a list of name, e-mail adresses and so on...
What was that? nothing of the above is possible... BUT it can do some partry trick that is irelevant? That is the "But speach defect". Let me tell you what ecosystem is. A the product NEEDS TO PERFORM AT ITS PRICE, and when paired with other product will bring more benefits if the product is from the same brand.
For example: Chord M scaller... great over sampleing device. When paird with another Chord DAC it prings more improvement then when paird with other DACs. Garmin fenix... great smartwatch, when you pair with a garmin GPS, you can track all the members of the party, something you can't do when you pair it on your smarphone.
Apple product does NOT perform at their price point, and PR agents get a "BUT" syndrom every time they are asked about it. It usuallyu manifest in the form of "But, it works great with apple speaker"... are you mentally deficient? I want the full 192/24 out of the 1750 Euro iPad pro to send in my 9-10k audio system, do you thing a 400$ wireless speaker will do it, or we need to talk about their 1700-2000 Euro ipad only outputing 44/16 on USB, when my 7 year old Note 8 can do 192/24 from Apple music? "But... but... butt... you don't understand" I am sure I'dont
