I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

I have an Echo 510evl that I bought back in 1989 for $400.00 and I have not had to have the carb adjusted or rebuilt since it was new. It still runs and cuts like a champ. It goes to show you what a good product they put out. Thanks for the videos.👍

I was looking at the 8010 and the Stihl BR800 2 years ago. I ended up with Stihl because of the side start feature. I absolutely love the fact that I can shut off the blower and start it without taking it off my back. Great video.

I have both, and when I have a big job I go for the 9010 every single time - it's just a lot more powerful, but I do wish they'd adopt that side start feature for sure.

I run saws every day and a few years ago, I bought an Echo 271T (the older first version of this saw). I still have it and use it whenever I have to climb, prune or buck a tree with smaller diameter limbs. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!! this little saw runs and cuts just about as fast as some of my larger saws that are 32 to 42cc .It just runs? My only complaint is the small fuel and oil caps and I see that has been corrected.
Just a word of caution: Top handle saws are very light and you will tend to start doing a lot of one handed cuts. This results in the waving around of a 12" bar with moving chain and at some point, you WIL (notice I didn't say you may?) end up brushing the bar and chain against you leg while the chain is moving. Unless you are wearing safety chaps, it's gonna leave an UGLY rash. You WILL cut limbs above your head and they will fall down and push the running saw towards your head and shoulders.
Top handle saws are great when used for their intended purpose but are also the most dangerous type of saw out there. Be careful!

Upgraded from the PB-770t to the 9010t… the 9010t is an absolute MONSTER!!!!
Saved me a bunch of time on my yard, really moves wet/dry leaves, acorns, twigs, sticks, etc… it’s heavier than the 770t, but it’s worth it. Also holds much more gas to minimize time refilling.
I can’t say much more about how insanely powerful it is. Loud… yes, but F your neighbors. They’re now blowing your leaves. 😂

I guess it could be a lot worse though. I CAN still hear, just not like when I was a teenager.

Do your homework and pick the best you can afford. You get what you pay for. Use plugs and muffs together if it’s really loud.
When I’m on my mower, I use the 3M muffs with the AM FM radio in them, they’re pretty good at blocking the noise while you pass the time listening to your favorite radio station.

Hi Chickanic, thanks for your videos. I have just purchased an Echo 770 backpack blower and I have used it only 4 times, mostly for blowing snow off our sidewalks. So, it's been around 0 F here (-18C here in Canada) and I was blowing snow the other day and my lower back was soaked with fuel! Apparently Echo blowers are not designed to blow snow, although they do come with a white plastic 'cold weather' intake cover...seems odd to me. According to the dealer, the fuel return line breaks in cold weather and this is fairly common. The unit is under warranty (5 year homeowner warranty!) and they will replace my fuel lines with more durable Tygon tubing. You probably live in a more pleasant climate than I do in Calgary, Canada but wondered if you had experienced this in your work. Thanks again for the fantastic videos, I've always liked small engines and remember tearing apart an old Iron Horse 2 stroke lawnmower engine when I was 12, and reassembling it (minus one compression ring) and I mowed lawns with it for a summer....anyway keep those videos coming!

I've had an 8010 for 1 year and once it warms up, it's a beast! I have a few complaints... it seems to go through fuel filters more so than other blowers I've had. It is heavy and I'm not a big fan of the shoulder straps. As with any 2 stroke, I clean the spark arrestor screen often. The only thing I need is a small "d" shaped driver to adjust the carb. I asked my dealer if they had any and they said no, we can't sell them. I guess Amazon is the way to go. I only use ethanol free fuel with red armor oil mix. My friend bought a 9010 and I've used it a few times. The shoulder straps seem a little better and it does seem to have a little more power than the 8010 but not enough for me to trade up. Love your vids, I'm subscribed.

If you are on a budget and want an Echo BP Blower... The smaller Echo PB580T is a very strong piece of gear for the money. I think I paid around $350 for it two years ago @ Home Depot. I am not going to attempt to compare it to the Big Kahuna, but for those on a budget, it can move some leaves. Wiped out a few weeks of heavy SE Michigan leaf fall with one tank of gas on our roughly 3/4 acre front yard. Trees located in the front yard and on two sides, piles were in the three foot range when I got them to the driveway for disposal. Will attempt to move some snow with it this winter.
I am very impressed with the unit, and much stronger than my Stihl Kombi blower using the KM 111R head. I use both, the Stihl for around the house after cutting grass, the Echo for the leaves. It is a winning combination.

I’ve bought nothing but Stihl small engine products, including chainsaws. Picked up this little 2511 because of the weight alone, 5.2 lbs.
I opted for the 2511tn, which has the narrower chain and bar. It just came out in May of 2023, and doesn’t chatter like the wider chain can do.
But Echo makes excellent saws if this little champ is any indication.

Hi I can’t really see the point of the of Echo upgrading this blower, The PB-8010 has more than enough power, but I suppose it’s for selling purposes as much as sorting the few issues you mentioned,. Also main rival Stihl has an 800 similar to 80 so wonder if that’s another reason Echo went to a 90 as that sounds bigger and better 🤔 I run the PB-8010 and I’m really happy with it, I won’t be changing it for a long time. Love the videos, btw! Just wanted to follow up on this video with my own experience. This fall I started out using my trusty Echo hand held PB250LN to clear leaves. Unfortunately, since I have gotten older it has been killing my shoulder. So based on your video I bought one of the PB-9010T blowers. This blower is absolutely awesome! A little heavy, yes. Burns through the gas much faster, as someone else noted. But I can't believe the volume of leaves this blower can move. Even wet heavy leaves. I completely emptied my yard of leaves, approx. one acre. LOTS of leaves. In one session! It was worth the price. Wish I had gotten it before the shoulder gave out. Thank you for pointing it out and giving the recommendation. Keep the videos coming! And the reviews!

I did the same, but bought their smaller blower, the PB580T, cleared some very heavy leaf fall as you described on roughly 3/4 of an acre on one tank. I blew across the yard, the piles were all roughly 3' high at the other side. My point being, even the smallest Echo BP blower can get the job done for those on a budget.

The Echo chainsaw appears to be an updated Echo CS-300, which is an arborists saw. Since 2003 I have owned a CS-300, and the conservation group I volunteer with has two of them. Other than replacing one carb we haven't had any problems with them and they easily cut oaks and maples up to 8 inch diameter. We do a lot of hiking trail clearing year round. Their light weight is an advantage when you have to carry the saw, oil, fuel, tools, etc. several miles into the woods to clear a trail.
Rather than spending $400 on a new CS-2511T often you can find a good used CS-300 on Craigslist for $100. The used saw might need new fuel lines and a $50 OEM carb, but for less than half the price of new you basically have the same saw. Chickanic has mentioned it, as has others on UA-cam, but never waste your time or money of the no-name Chinese carbs. I've done it, and have had to replace the carb with an OEM carb every time.
Chickanic mentions often encountering bad canned fuel. That is troubling. For a few years I've been trusting that the canned fuel would always be good. Non-ethanol fuel is not available to me at local gas stations, and all too often I hear of some water even being in the local premium gas. So it makes me wonder if I should get a gallon of local premium gas (which has ethanol), pour a quart of it into a glass beaker, see if any water settles to the bottom, and only then use it with name-brand oil for my saw fuel mix.

I have the cs-352 chainsaw (as well as one of the larger saws. the timber wolf . Plus a pole saw attachment for the echo pas system). I wish the 352 had gas and oil caps like the one you are reviewing. I just do maintenance on my own yard so even what saws I have are overkill. BUT I can see some major advantages to this little saw including one hand operation. So I may end up buying one. Wish you were closer. Would love to buy from you.
Also have the echo PB-770 backpack blower. It is more than I need for a homeowner as well but I love having the power to blow wet grass off sidewalks etc. I can stand 10 feet back and still blow everything off the sidewalk including over the 'wall' of grass which I pride myself in by keeping the st augustine grass 4.5 inches tall and edged nice and straight. I wouldnt mind buying this new 9010 as well. Will have to think about that as the 770 does all I can imagine I would need.

We have that exact saw and several of the blowers. The biggest problem I have with the Echo blowers is the carbs vibrate loose and by time it starts running badly and has to be checked it has sucked lots of dirt into the intake. It's a very powerful blower but I know the life of the engines has been shortened....

Hello from Australia: Shindaiwa were great machines and it appears now that Echo is rebadging Echo equipment as Shindaiwa and now the rebadged Echo models passing off as Shindaiwa have lost thei Shindaiwa superior performance, I am not purchasing Shindaiwa from now on, instead I am looking elsewhere, but where does one go to get an equivalent to the pre-Echo Shindaiwa?

When that burn heals up, go see the doc and see if they can give you some Retin-A cream.
I had a huge burn on my forearm for years from an exhaust pipe. Girlfriend at the time gave me some prescription Retin-A cream, can’t even tell it’s there now, unless I point it out.

Well, II'll admit Echo makes very good products but my almost 10 years old Stihl BR 600 ( 4 stroke) will start on 2nd pull anytime, is quieter than any 2-stroke and does move pine needles, leaves and debris very effectively. Could the 90-10 beat it flat out on performance, my local Echo dealer has no loaner to let me find out.

    • @Chickanic
      @Chickanic  3 роки тому +1

There are a bunch of videos on UA-cam comparing the two, and the Echo seems to be the front runner in them all. It really is an amazing blower. The BR600 is really good also. Especially for homeowners. It will last a very long time. I see them all the time in need for repairs, but it is usually the commercial customers.

Been an echo shindaiwa dealer for 30 years and have to say if you want mechanical reliability you cant go past Japanese made gear. And price to repair is very affordable replaced numerous cowling handle assy from folks dropping them from the tree (Saying that if your up a tree and your about to fall, throw the saw away).
