I use a strong magnet wrapped in a rag when I drill to capture shavings to prevent them from dropping into the upholstery. They stick to the rag against the magnet. I just remove the rag from the magnet over the trash.
Excellent and meticulous install...I would have gone on step further...On your large holes make a ring with RTV around the perimeter and coat the entire metal screws with RTV before screwing it in...The rubber seals under the lights will start weeping water in a few years...The RTV creates a mound which prevents the water from leaking in...And the RTV screws should create a watertight barrier.
@@AnthonyJ350 RTV "Silicon adhesive " would only create a small ridge so the weeping water can not climb...If you don't want it to adhere to the rubber/plastic gasket of the light, let the RTV cure for a few minutes or apply a small dab of dielectric grease around the area where the RTV ring touches the gasket...This might sound a little extreme, but years later you won't have water intrusion because of not taking these precautions.
@@AnthonyJ350 on another 12 model truck a guy tapped into that same wire that you did but it runs up passenger pillar. So not a “connector” but same wire

Is the RTV easy to remove or will it bond the rubber gasket to the roof?
