Hey, Kagen! The fact you, as a much more established angler, struggled like I, a much less experienced anger, did finding a single flounder during the "flounder run" with artificials, is actually encouraging. I have watched tons of videos, and it seems almost every angler catches so effortlessly and prolifically (through editing), I sometimes feel like I'm not doing as well as I should. Seeing this tells me I'm realistically improving and getting closer to my goals. I didn't even resort to Gulps because I really, really want the challenge of no shortcut.
Try to Grab the speck rigs and replace the worms with gulp swim tail 4in. I use the speck rigs with white swim tail on top and white with pink tail shrimp on the bottom half. Good luck
It should increase hookups. Let me know if it works for you. I'm from San Antonio and go down to aransas, corpus and rockport often. I'm going to sashimi my next flounder lol. Been watching cavy too much
Great video man, saw the intro and was like I was there several months ago. In Galveston I normally surf fish and use my jetski to get the bait out there 500-600 yards. Been debating on getting a boat. How does your handle with the waves there?

It handles great. Obviously every boat has a limit and the ride gets wet when it gets big but the semi V helps a lot with cutting chop in bay running.
