The true title of this video. "This is what 1,000 hours of Wrath Of Heaven looks like.". Man I miss this series. I know it makes me old as all get out. I remember playing Tenchu 1 in 98 in my room. That was the year stealth games exploded. Metal Gear Solid, Tenchu, Thief. What a great year.
Literal seconds into your gameplay and my jaw Unironically dropped, I wasnt expecting such sick movement. The best part about coming back to videos of games you loved as a kid is seeing absolute units like you tear through in a way i would only dream of. It has been awhile guess its time for another playthrough lol
The PS2 Era was truly the era of fun and unique games. I remember becoming a fan of Tenchu from the beginning, and was super excited when they made Tenchu 2: Birth of the Stealth Assassins. So when Tenchu 3: Wrath of Heaven came out it was amazing to see how far things had come. This is a masterpiece. Edit: Also that MUSICAL SCORE DUDE
One of the most beautiful things tenchu had imo was the "stealth search": you didn't always know exactly where to go and that led you to maybe iterate a few times over an area just to find out a hidden passage or a corner you just ignored. Beautiful
Nice. An actual HD textures mod. Most vids that say HD just hit Max on all settings along with Bloom & contrast usually being all over the place. Blurry as hell with bleed, frame rate & motion blur up the ass in every corner. Lmao. But anywho, great vid. There's a lot of things going on. Looks amazing. Graphics, frame rate, color, sharpness etc. Would love it if this was released on steam or some shit. Tenchu needs a comeback.

This game on PS2 was my jam every weekend. Especially the coop and versus multiplayer. Addicting. Wish they remade this, or least bring back the title to current gen. Thanks for reliving memories.
I used to love this game. My favorite stealth kill was when you’re on a sloped terrain. Was hard to pull off given the circumstances but it was the most badass of them all.
around 20 years ago, i played tenchu in PS1, i still remember the thrill when fighting tetsumaru and one villain that looks like orochimaru in naruto whose i forgot his name. the missions are so simple yet fun to play, there's even sanbox to make ur own. i didn't follow the series, especially for PS2 but my older cousin own it there's a wooden robot chara, it's fun.

Love the Tenchu games so much, played them constantly back in the day. Even now the quality stands out - of course the graphics are 20 years old but even now the soundtrack, voiceovers and sound effects add so much atmosphere to the game which I think make it unique to this day - style AND substance. The Tenchu series is long due a remake or ideally a completely new game!!

Rikimaru being this fast was something out of dreams. It's my favorite game of all time, but I really dreaded Rikimaru's heavy feel. I know it adds to the games basic dynamics, but this is a literal game changer. How was this done!?
It was done through codes by using cheat engine. It was an unused ability that developers removed from the game, but they added later on next titles ( Tenchu Z and Fatal Shadows)

1:23:30 GODDAMIT! That was supposed to set up a sequel storyline about Mei-Oh’s return. They should’ve used his original voice actor from Tenchu 1. Also, if they ever make Tenchu 5 in the future, I would love to see Shigi and Onikage working together. Rikimaru, Ayame, Tatsumaru, Rin and Tesshu as playable characters.
When me and my friend played versus mode, we would always race to pick Tatsumaru. We both knew we were gonna cheese tf out of him with his special moves. "How about this? You need more training." Shit used to get us tight lmao Don't even get me started on Tajima (the one with the gun)... I miss those days.
Stealth Builds in Nioh are the only thing that give me even remotely the same feeling as Wrath of Heaven did back in the day. But even still, because there’s no vertical mobility, you still always feel restricted. I really wish this game was remastered. I was actually watching Ninja Gaiden lets plays and this blast from the past found me, so pretty grateful, it was an awesome game.
