  • We've owned a HotpointNT M11 92XBY UK Heat Pump Tumble Drier for a few years. This replaced an earlier Hotpoint drier. This one died from a possible compressor issue. I had to periodically strip and clean the heat sinks on the condenser as they would block with fluff as the filters in the drier would eventually let it through.
    With the new Tumble Drier I had hoped my troubles were behind me as Hotpoint designed in 2 filters that could easily be cleaned. Everything was fine for a couple of years until we found the drying times were getting longer and longer. Cut a long story short I got my tools out to find out what was going on and to my surprise I found there is a third filter in the drier not mentioned anywhere.
    I described where it is and what I did to fix the problem in this linked video I uploaded a couple of years ago: • Hotpoint NT M11 92XBY ...
    Hotpoint at some point must have added a user accessible door in the front of the drier so access could be gained to this third filter. Too late for me though! The model number though never changed as far as I can tell but today I've added my own door!
    This link on Amazon is to a rivet or clinch nut kit. It's similar to the one I used but mine is about 30 years old! Satisfy yourself this is one is a good enough quality for what you need, as I have not tried this actual one! amzn.to/3GWZwGG

    Brilliant! Might have to do this myself. Why on Earth this filter requires you to take the machine apart to service is beyond me

      Hi Durzel, I’m told this machine has an auto clean for the filter but as it never worked well Hotpoint added an accessible filter. The different machines had an identical serial number! At least now it’s going to be an easy fix! Thanks for the comments👍🏽

      Hi, the black door was one I added but if the have added on in this place like I did, it could be a push to open, push to close. The only manual I can find is listed here but that doesn't seem to have any doors. www.hotpoint.co.uk/service/appliance-manuals?infinity=ict2%7Enet%7Egaw%7Ecmp%7EGoo_Search_Hotpoint_Service_Generic_DSA%7Eag%7EDSA+Generic%7Ear%7E659989373232%7Ekw%7E%7Emt%7E%C2%A0&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAivGuBhBEEiwAWiFmYapYj7HQGcgU-NEb5xNa_OJUaxzqo2MUeUcRknVQy9xrnM9lThBKwRoCHsgQAvD_BwE&_its=JTdCJTIydmlkJTIyJTNBJTIyYTI2MWFmNmYtOGY4OS00YmJkLWE0ZWYtNTQ2YjAwNGE2MGEyJTIyJTJDJTIyc3RhdGUlMjIlM0ElMjJybHR%2BMTcwODkzNzM0N35sYW5kfjJfNDA1ODlfcHBjX2Q0NjZiN2VjNDA2OTAzNDU1Zjc5YWU5N2JkZTJhODlkfnB0X2djbGlkfkNqd0tDQWlBaXZHdUJoQkVFaXdBV2lGbVlhcFlqN0hRR2NnVS1ORWI1eE5hX09KVWF4enFvMk1VZVVjUmtuVlF5OXhybk05bFRoQkt3Um9DSHNnUUF2RF9Cd0UlMjIlMkMlMjJzaXRlSWQlMjIlM0E0MDIxOCU3RA%3D%3D

    New version has a plate obviously Hotpoint has been watching your video. Unfortunately they don't provide any information about this.

      Hi Lynn, the details I was able to find out was a plate was added but the model numbers repaired the same, which is just confusing. Thanks for the feedback

      I’ll see if I can find a manual and post it but often the doors are a push open push closed affair.

    Did cleaning the filter as you have done solve the problem of the red light?

      @@MikeMakesIt i tilted the dryer forward and all the water came out from the bottom filter compartment. Didn’t need to open it up.

    • @MikeMakesIt
      @MikeMakesIt  9 місяців тому

      @@haramainantiquesThere is an internal tank at the back of the machine that stores water until it is full enough for the machine to either pump it into the internal waste drawer or discharge into the mains water waste, if setup. It may have been from that.

    • @haramainantiques
      @haramainantiques 9 місяців тому

      @@MikeMakesIt Makes sense. Though it shouldn’t be the case that with a tilt all the water comes out. Saves me having to open the whole thing up so I can’t complain. Hotpoint quoted me a one off fee of £110 or £10 pm for a care plan. I might as well switch machine’s because after 3 years of payments I would have been paid the equivalent of a new machine! All the best.
