Out of all of the football analysis channels, yours stands out. Very deep knowledge of the game, but more important you're able to break it down and explain it better than anyone else.
Campbell can promote him to assistant HC and give Duce a different title cuz nobody will be calling to get permission to hire Duce .. I'm under the impression that this staff in on a mission to stay together as a whole until they make history in Detroit.... next season will be a different story of who will be head coaching prospects for the NFL.
Shiela has to get check book out, give both coordinators a sweet 3 year deal and yes make ben johnson assistant head coach...after 3 years and 2 superbowls our coordinators can ask their price...not sure why Ben johnson would want to leave with only one year of experience, "a nice 3 year contract" for all kinds of head coach pressure...also find it hard to believe a team would make him head coach with only one year of coordinator experience...but after making history in Detroit...for sure !
@@Eidenhoek That would be Kool... If he's interested in coaching? They do have him in the organization as a advisor.. so, if he continues to maintain that position and if they do happen to get a SB win in the next three years.. then Barry and Spielman get a ring.
@@jujijime Haha yeah that would have been hilarious. But I'm pretty sure he was supposed to get down anyways to burn the clock because it was at the end of the game with little time left.
As a former football player I thoroughly enjoyed this. So clean, clear and well produced. Voice and background music on point. Detailed enough for a knowledgeable football junkie to enjoy and basic enough for a complete rookie to understand. Liked and subscribed on the spot. Keep up the top notch work.
Update: Johnson is staying! 01/18/23.. via Cowhurd. Love the breakdown! They were lethal.. I wonder what offensive pieces they look for in the draft and free agency.. would love it if they can get Jamaal back.. he’s a hammer on the field and a great leader.. they need another stud o-lineman-guard.. but I think they’ll seek immediate contributors on defense first… but the way Holmes and his team have been drafting.. I have, for the first time in my life as a lions fan, 100% confidence. They’ve built a great foundation where players want to play… not retire early or demand trades from.
Only you and Brett Kollmann have this level of detail for their videos and film breakdowns, its so awesome seeing these formations in slowmo and then seeing them on Sundays during a game! It’s like understanding words to a language you’ve been learning
I love how easy to understand all these play design. Being able to break down these plays that an average viewing can understand and learn the content is amazing!
Such an informative video with these play breakdowns. I do not have that type of understanding of the game, but now I can get a clearer picture as to why the Lions have an amazing offense. With that said I hope he doesn't get poached! I've been praying for the Lions to actually have a solid offense for so long. 1 season isn't enough!
I’m trying to get to know footballs tactics more so I’m not just understanding the rules and stuff. I want to know why wr’s lineup like they do and how dbs adjust, and ect. Your channel does it the best and its because you don’t just throw words at me. You break it down and the markers you out helps even more. I love and appreciate the small details you add to your videos. Keep it up bro🙏🏾
According to the most plugged in people in local Detroit sports media who do have connections with Allen Park Ben Johnson isn't going anywhere after this year. He will take interviews for preparation/experience but will stay on to learn what it is to be a head coach under Dan the way Sean Payton groomed Dan in New Orleans. It should be kept in mind that this is Ben Johnson's first year as a coordinator. The culture and coaching system in Detroit was built by Dan with the idea of attracting the brightest minds in football by being a machine that teaches and prepares them for future success elsewhere as either position to coordinator or coordinator to head coach.
@@brandonmilam7343 agreed it’s one thing for Ben Johnson to say that but when a owner sits you down and offers you the Head coaching Job of any franchise and you’re getting paid the big bucks it’s hard to turn down an opportunity like that because you may not get another chance
The best play call of this entire video was the silky smooth transition to a Hello Fresh ad. I didn’t even see it coming. Great analysis, graphics and editing.
Fans wonder why Jamo isn’t playing that much. Ben J has different types of an offensive that’s just one reason why he’s not playing that much. But he will.
Dude, the big networks should be fighting over you. I haven't seen anyone break down complex play structures like this. I love seeing this so I can comprehend without having the experience of playing at this level or close to it. I played hockey fairly highly and you read it like I can read that, but football is my fav sport to watch and I always look for more ways to learn about it, so thank you very much for this.
I am 38 my bro just turned 40 I’ve watched him be a die hard lions fan growing up next door to the rams/angels stadium since childhood. He loved Barry! I’ve watched this dude hate sundays his entire life!!!! I can not help but love what this team is doing! Go lions!! Man this is a great team! They will finally be the one!!!!!!
Lifelong Lions Fan, here. The last half of last season, was the first time in a long time, I watched knowing/feeling, they can win and never thinking we were out of the game until the end. So much nicer than all the games I’ve watched, hoping the loss won’t be too embarrassing , or when they’re finally leading, wondering when they’ll blow their lead and by how much. Hopefully, next year they don’t wait until the last chance to start playing well.
This is my first video of yours just popped up and as a Lions fan I had to click on it. Your knownledge of football and the way you can explain it is outstanding. Got me as a subscriber and current binge watcher.
I hope The Lions don’t lose Ben Johnson. It’s only his 1st season as a coordinator he might want to get some more experience before he takes a Head Coaching position
Really well done. I’m a Lions-only film nerd and I had never caught on to the ARSB 4x1 auto-man lock backside usage. Great catch and analysis my man. Keep it up
I just recently got into football heavy watching many teams weekly and watching you has shown me just how intricate the game really is i love these vids
This is a stellar breakdown of how Ben uses every player at their maximum. Great job! I played semi-pro football until I was 42. We could have used a few more brains like yours on our coaching staff. Haha
YOUR BREAK DOWNS ARE AWESOME. I am a Bills fan , but I am a closet Lions Fan ever since Billy Sims. You can see it all coming together for this team. A launching pad towards next year. as long as Ben Johnson doesn't get a head coaching offer.
Please, I know you’re not a lion fan but I really enjoy your content and I look forward to following you all season long. I hope you continue to break down Ben Johnson’s genius offense, but he’s only being able to do it in my opinion because our office of line is significantly underrated but I love the way you break it down and show us how diabolical he really is and how he’s fooling the defense play after play
Great analysis by the way. No one is talking about this, but if the Lions pick up O'Cyrus Torrence in the 1st Round of the Draft, we could have the best offensive line in the NFL for the next 3 to 4 years. He is the one player in the draft that will make the most immediate impact. He is the perfect fit.
Great job on this. Bears fan here. Truly learn from you. Enjoyed the video. I'm hoping the Bears have a legitimate shot at signing Ben Johnson next year as our HC.
Outstanding! Loved your breakdown. Look forward to watching more of your work. Do you breakdown the flip side of the Ball as well? And, do you breakdown each week's game during season? Thank you sir.
At 1:40 58 going in motion like a WR fabulous and hilarious at same time- great athleticism, what soft hands, big man looks like WR. Watch both replays there and both replays also at 11:40 - how does Goff fit ball in such a tight window. Outstanding breakdowns. Hey do you have a terminology chart? Watched football forever but some terms still a mystery. great video, great channel 👍

Other than Penei Sewell and jumbo packages that sure look like Dan Campbells influence Jared Goff is running the Rams offense he learned under McVay. Great insight, thanks
5:18 i really like whats said here (considering what happened in January) as it describes what they did and why lions fans arent mad at it unlike 95% of the league
Mr. Ben Johnson, please stay w/ THE LIONS. Whatever other are TEAMS OFFERING to pay you as a OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR , winning multiple SUPER BOWLS w / THE LIONS you won't have go anywhere.
Best coordinator in The League, O or D side. So crucial he decided to stay on as our OC. We gotta strike while the iron's got and we got him calling plays, cause he easily could've been a HC this coming year. And he's probably gonna be a great one, so it's a fleeting, tight window we'll have him on Campbell's staff. Not looking forward to tryin to replace him. That'll be a sad day.
3:55 Swift doesn't get the first down because too often he tries to get cute with his plays instead of taking the yardage. Sometimes it works out and others it just makes him look bad.
You could call anything and he could run it. But what really makes him special is those option routes - Johnson trusts him to read the coverage and then pick the correct route to beat it. Next level stuff.
Goff makes up for a lack of deep throw ability by being able to quickly read and go to 2nd and 3rd options on the plays. He may be one of the best in the league at that skill. It adds one more dimension that makes these play calls work. You can call great plays, but they have to have the people who can get it done. The Lions are skilled, make no mistakes about that.
How did Swift not get that first down is right, jeez. I remember that looked bad on TV and it looks way worse from the birds eye. He dances away free yards often. It's rather frustrating and I don't really remember him doing that in college
The rumors all season was that after he got injured, he was scared of running the way they utilized Jamaal and the other RBs on the team, which was detrimental to our run plays
