I am so glad I found the Lovecrafts website for yarn and other crochet and knitting products. They always have a sale on some yarn up to 75% off. The Red Heart soft baby steps yarn on this video is only £1.99 per 100g ball. Just amazing as this is super soft baby yarn. They have many other brands too. Cheaper than I have seen them elsewhere.

I use gifted yarns and there is usually not enough for big garments. I never make clothes i always get the arm holes wrong and look like a monkey and distorted.

It will work with any yarn.

No, sorry I dont but there are lots on youtube, I did do one myself but it was squint, I think you could do this triangle with more stitches at the begining so its not so pointy make 2 smaller triangles and sew them together leaving a gap for the head. That will work.

about 3 then it depends on how wide you wnt it xl will be 4 x 100g

How big can it get
I did mine to fit around my daughters friend's shoulders she wanted the point down past her butt, I din't measure it but think it was around 60inch long if you want it wider faster so the point at the back isnt so far down do extra increases spaced out evenly every 2 or 3 rows. It can easily be adjusted so its wide but not long if you know what I mean. Please keep doing the increases on the ends this keeps it symetrical and helps it widen quicker with each row.
