The WWE just announced Cody’s next challenger for the WWE championship a few nights ago on SmackDown. It’s going to be ‘The Maverick’ Logan Paul. If I’m being honest, this is a good match to book.
With all of that being said, there is one problem that might ruin this dream match. And it’s the fact that Logan Paul is the United States Championship. Being the champion isn’t even the problem. It’s more of the idea that he’s going to put the title on the line as well

Fans are fickle asf. They’re mad that the WWE Champion win every match? What is he suppose to do? Lose once in a while, while he’s champion?
tbf giving cody 2 belts makes no sense, he doesn't need the US title. Ok let's say he wins, of course he won't hold that title for long, he will eventually drop it to a midcarder. Him losing to a midcarder makes him look weak, it makes Roman look weak, it makes the bloodline look weak. Ik WWE will prolly pull out a DQ finish or they can pivot and shit, but him winning the US title is pointless

The only way I see this working is if it's just Cody's title at stake. Cody does NOT need the US title and Logan should lose it to LA Knight or someone else later down the line.

*I'm not complaining one bit about it because atleast Cody Rhodes is a full-time wrestler, I don't mind him winning the US championship.*

You're not looking at the bigger picture, the roster right now is stacked full of talent and a lot of new wrestlers could use a big win over Logan to get their name out there, as well as elevate themselves with the US Title, especially someone like LA Knight. Besides, if Cody Rhodes does win it, he'll have to eventually drop it to someone and losing the US title while still being the WWE Champion will make him and the big belt look weak

Why do fans act like Professional Bookers? I’m not sure where this decision will go, but it’d be best to just watch and enjoy the product.

Even as a cody fan, I agree. Cody could've been booked at least summerslam to win the us title while being wwe champion. But I expect a dq finish or a brief run with the us title

Giving Cody the US belt would be PERFECT for Cody. It keeps everything good about his run and takes away the bad. It allows him to continue being a fighting champion while keeping the prestige of the universal title. Cody giving people constant shots at the belt is the biggest problem with his run. People complained about Roman not defending it and it took him dropping it for people to realize that thats exactly why his his belt felt so godlike. The US belt gives him something to regularly defend

How did fans change their opinions? They wanted Cody to win the world title. They didn’t want an extremely rushed title run.
I could see Cody winning the US title, completing the grand slam, then comes out on Smackdown to vacate the US title because he wants to give more opportunities to those up and coming. Solo wins the US title in a tournament
Cody vs Logan will end in DQ so no one loses their championship.

I predict that this match will end by DQ after Uncle Howdy and his crew debut and interfere in the match by attacking both cody and logan.
I find it funny that people believe it is set in stone that both are titles are on the line at King & Queen of the Ring.
All we know is that it is a Champion VS Champion match it has not been confirmed that it will be a double title match.
We will know once the contract is signed or Nick Aldis declares whether it is a double title match or not, but until then we must be patient to let all of it unfold.
The only reason Cody vs Logan is happening is so WWE can get some more casuals aka Logan Paul fans to tune in to see if he will win which of course he’s not. Its most likely gonna end in a DQ anyway

seth did the same if yall remember back in 2015 seth drop the us title to cena at nights of championships remember that night after summerslam 2019 raw when they had the oc drop the raw tag team titles to bruan and seth fans were pisses and then they drop them to ziggler and bobby roude if cody wins the united states championship then I see him probably dropping it at mitb or summerslam

If this ends up being a title vs title match,WWE have officially buried la knight. The whole point of drafting him to SmackDown was for him to win the U.S title. Cody is clearly winning this match and he won't be touched until atleast after wm 41. Yes, the match is gonna be a banger, but in the process WWE have now again, are at the verge of burying a superstar. The only way to save him now is to make the match end in DQ or time out. If Cody wins, knight is gonna waste one full year(eventually losing momentum) unless he gets into feuds with credible opponents or changing to raw, where he can challenge for the IC tile or even the WHC at some point.

I think you’re overthinking this by a lot. My feeling is that the new bloodline member will come in and mess up the title vs title match and no title will change because it will end in a DQ..
From there, Cody can get his revenge on the new member and have a feud with him

Something about a guy who's very popular outside of wwe, being taken this seriously by the company makes it harder to enjoy. Like we know it's not real, but I didn't need to see ed Sheeran in GOT either smh.

I feel this storyline (including the specific part in the Cody/Roman rivalry where Rock took Cody's spot, as well as when Austin Theory cashed-in his money in the bank on the US title and lost) are critical reminders that we fans shouldnt jump to conclusions too early and just wait for what the WWE is planning for the rivalries when we think that something is up and its all going down south, and then we can give our opinions, cause, eh.....
Of course they wouldn't have made Cody have both titles in the first place, that would hust be pushing things in a bad way

Here’s two ways I see this going and both of them include Cody beating Paul:
One: Cody gets the U.S belt and slowly starts turning heel. I don’t think that’s happening.
Two: Cody wins and Vacates the US title so that another superstar could win it. He’ll cut a promo on how the U.S is important and how it should be defended regularly.

I don't mind the match. I could be wrong within the next few weeks, but I feel like they'll put on a good match, but neither of them will lose their titles, such as the match ending in a no-contest or DQ. That or, as it was said in the video, just have the match for only the WWE title. I think it's pointless to have a dual championship in the WWE right now, especially if Cody is holding the main title and potentially holding the mid card title at the same time. For now, we're just gonna have to wait and see what happens.

Personally I don’t understand why Cody winning a second championship is a bad thing considering the fact that in the past, Seth Rollins won both the WWE Championship and the US Title and no one had a single complaint about that booking decision?
I see Logan tricking cody and telling him that the contract he signed says its a Undisputed wwe championship match and US title is not on the line. I think its the best way. Don't want a DQ finish.
Do Cody Rhodes Vs. Logan Paul with it being a two-fall match. The first fall can obviously be for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship while the second is for the United States Championship. That way Cody wins the first fall to stay Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and Logan can win the second fall to stay United States Champion.

I want Cody to win and relinquish the title on the next SmackDown episode and should say "I won't hold the championship as a prisoner so I am relinquishing the US title and giving the opportunity to others"

I'm not a booker, but I would say Kevin Owens should go against Logan Paul for the US Championship and he wins. When Nick Aldis made that announcement for Cody's "worthy" opponent and Logan's music hit, I couldn't believe it. I just couldn't.

What if the match ends in a draw with the returning Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt 6 demolishing both Cody and Logan and the rest of the arena Nexus style? I mean, this would save both wrestlers. AND! (Most of all) This would bring more intrigue in this whole situation.
I agree Cody doesn't need it. And having Logan win doesn't make sense. I'm hoping they're doing this solely to set a grander stage for the Wyatt Family return.
It’s a fun match but it’s stupid to make right now. Even if the US wasn’t on the line, Logan needs to defend his belt that he’s defended like twice in like 200+ days, Cody had barely had his own belt and he’s already potentially getting a chance at another (even if he’s not, he shouldn’t be going against another champ already) and the belt he already has is the result of 2 belts merging anyway.

I see so many people defending Cody winning down here saying fans upset with the decision are wrong. The issue is that every feud then should be about both belts logically. Like say LA Knight beats Cody for the title, why shouldn’t he say “I beat your ass once, why shouldn’t I get your WWE Title too? I already showed you whose game this is! YEAH!”
Just make it a 1 on 1 without the titles on the line and then run the rematch for both titles at SummerSlam as it's in Logan's home state

Its Saudi Arabia. The stipulation of “all the gold” is just to make it a bigger spectacle to satisfy the Saudi’s. We will probably get some lazy booking with interference setting up a future feud.

I think WWE planned this on purpose to generate heat from the fans, else it would have been predictable like next opponent trying to get title and lost to Cody. But they planned this creating chaos among fans and this will give them ideas to make or book things that we might not expect will fans are just messing around DQ, this match should happen or not. Personally, the title for title gimmick saves this match for me. I do not really care to see Cody vs Logan, especially so soon in Cody’s run and in how they revealed Logan as the challenger. For me if you don’t put both belts on the line, why even bother with Logan this ppv? Why not anyone else?
