    This thing was a dud out of the box for me. The master code doesnt work, it lights up green but the safe doesnt open. Opened it with the physical key. Reprogrammed it, new code lights up green but safe doesnt open. The app slider unlock doesnt work either. Only the physical keys work. Very dissapointing
    In spirit of transparency, Vaultek did a warranty swap and the replacement works as intended👌 now my only gripe is I wish it was a bit taller so I can put my entire holstered gun inside. No biggie, just the gun fits but would be nice to minimize unnecessary administrative handling

    It would be even better if it also operated as a alarm clock. For the price point that it has I'm surprised that it also does it have a alarm clock as well.

    Quick question. I just got mine but it is not wireless charging none of my iPhone or Galaxy S23 Ultra. Does that feature need to be activated somehow? Thanks a lot for your prompt reply 🙏🏻

    • @NWSafe
      @NWSafe  10 місяців тому

      Charging should work right out of the box with no activation needed with the exception of plugging the power cord in. I would suggest either contacting Vaultek for troubleshooting or returning for a replacement unit.

      Vaultek offers two mounting plates (Under the table or on top of a table) that secure the safe to whatever you have it mounted to. Out of the box, it has a security cable you can wrap around the bed frame or nightstand, but we wouldn't recommend keeping anything of value in it while you're away. The Bluetooth app will tell you if someone is tampering with the safe while you're within distance of the safe but not away like their Wi-Fi models. The DS2i is meant for a quick access solution, not a long-term storage safe.

      Great point. I won't be drilling holes in the top of my real cherry nightstand ruining it. Also cable is trashy trailer park looking. So it would be great to keep kids out of it, but if you have a older gun and it's dropped it could go bang.

    • @chaserGB

      For me personally I keep my phone next to me by the bed. I would put this on the entertainment center by my tv. It’s a bit high. Reason I would like it to have the alarm is because I would be forced to get up in am to turn it off. I prefer to sleep next to my phone. But the real question is, is it that difficult to have the clock have ability to set an alarm?? Seems super simple. Like a no brainer, also I know I’m not the only one asking this question.

    I love Vaultek. I love that Ds2 Smart safe BUT.....COME ON GUYS. A one gun safe with a clock, the temp, the humidity, the cell charger pad....thats all non essential bull sh#$ that costs very little to put in. We have clocks on our phones, on the cable box, on our watch, on our walls, we don't need another clock or temp reading on a gun safe for $475.00. That's insane. I would buy it in a heartbeat for max.....$225.00. A 1 gun safe fellas. 1 gun....$475.00. That's a consumer insult.
    Good luck getting rid of them at $475.00

      No doubt they’re not cheap but it’s by far the fastest moving and best selling single unit we’ve ever sold. This isn’t the first Vaultek release where I’ve questioned the price but the continue to prove me wrong. I think it might be possible to see some promotional discounts in the distant future. Hornady makes a competitor called the Night Guard that’s about $145 less but it won’t have the same features and is not Biometric.

      We get it they’re not cheap but ever since we started selling Vaultek over 5 years ago we were always skeptical what the demand was for premium pistol safes. We’ve even found ourselves saying they were “too expensive” to sell well with multiple of their product releases. We’ve made the mistake multiple times of doubting them and they have proven us wrong again and again. Each year Vaultek continues to be our best selling handgun safes and the DS2i was the most anticipated and fastest selling unit in our 36 year history of selling safes. Yes, they’re expensive but they are also the clear winners when you compare them to the competition.

      We’ve sold a lot of Biometrics over the years and yes, Vaultek has some of the most reliable readers and locks we’ve seen. Our sample size is substantial since this specific unit is the fastest selling Vaultek release we’ve ever had. Most biometrics in the safe industry are price point trash. Vaultek is at the top of the heap. Sorry for not giving you the break, dude. 😉
