I've had a lifelong crush on Linda. Sealed even further when in the summer of '78 I had one of the sweetest loves of my life with a girl from Georgia while I was on the NC coast for the summer. Platonic (😫) though I'd have given everything for more. When we parted I was stunned, devastated and felt the first hopeless bittersweet heartbreak of my life. I immediately bought Linda's Greatest album and played Long, Long, Time at least 500 times within a week. 46 years later I'm sure I'm forgotten decades ago, but not for me, still in unrequited love. Such a sad song.

With each new entry, I'm both elated to hear another song by Lauren, but also so saddened by the fact that a real injustice has been done by UA-cam's algorhythmn which somehow keeps her away from the average viewer. While so many others who have so much less to offer continue to get thousands of views, Lauren never appears in the presented offers to play, thus noone sees her. God Bless Her that she is able to not let it affect her.
She needs to get her agent/manager to hook her up with Ben Shapiro's Daily Wire podcast network. It's based in Nashville. I hear he likes Country Western music...
If it's any consolation, Lauren just came up on my queue for the first time. Perhaps it's because Linda is already in "my algorithm" and this song is trending due to the TLOU episode. So thrilled to know a young talented woman like Lauren loves and appreciates artists like Linda, Emmylou, and Dolly. Linda, especially, led me to so many other singers, songwriters, and musicians; only right that Lauren is now preserving the legacy of these extraordinarily gifted, humble, and generous artists. Also, impressed how Lauren identified Gary White as the songwriter. Wish I could see that Trio tribute concert. Next best thing I can do is to subscribe...done!
I've been in love with Linda since "Different Drum" and this is one on my favorites. BTW, I've been in love with you since the first note I heard you sing. Wonderful performance on this song. Linda would be proud.

I'll send my two grandson's (18 & 22 YO) to see you and fall in love with you the way I did with Linda in the 70's. They're half Irish. Hope that's ok.

I never realized how many people have covered Long Long Time. But I remember a while back watching a UA-cam video of a woman singing at an outside bar and she did a great job, and ever since then the algorithm has been feeding me non-stop covers of the song. And this is not only a tough song to sing vocally, but we all have Linda singing the song rolling around in our heads by way of comparison. And I have to say that this cover is one of the best versions I've heard. Many congrats and props!!

wow' I can't believe you covered that. I'm restricted from glimpsing videos on your Facebook page, and I'm so thankful I came across it here. I only wish Linda is as fortunate. She recently said; 'I can always harmonize in my head, even without music playing. That's all I can do" ..in any case, Lauren, I just can't imagine any artist but yourself doing anywhere near the justice it deserves. And for what it's worth, I was restricted on your f.b. page for being particularly harsh on someone who made an altogether hurtful comment on a picture you posted in a recording booth in Oct/Nov 2021. I am truly sorry about that, I overreacted of course, and deserved what I got. Once again, a magnificent cover here, that's something I would have certainly requested over the past 15 months if I had the opportunity.
