Tides of Man are a progressive indie turned post-rock band. Three guitarists lay down dense, textured noise in every manner of delay, echo, reverb and fuzz on the market. It’s an intensely melodic guitar style that’s heavily driven by a grooving rhythm section. They dominate the stage, crescendoing into massive sound walls with intricate tonal variety. Tides of Man have definitely matured in their songwriting, ditching the 200 BPM guitar solos in favor of a more cohesive sound.
Recorded on January 23, 2015 in Chicago, IL.

This session is criminally under viewed. What a departure from post-hardcore/ progressive to this progressive, melodic post rock.. just phenomenal
Im sitting in my work truck staring at the rain and pissed about it while looking for something GOOD to watch. The first song had me rocking back and forth uncontrollably to the melody with flashes of my memories reminding me of the beauty in my life. The rest of my day was definitely changed after hearing/watching this.
That’s exactly why I love post rock
No tracklist? Alrighty, guess I'll do it
0:21 Mountain House
3:33 Parallels
11:38 We Were Only Dreaming
19:09 Hold Still
27:22 Young And Courageous
Doing Gods Work
Not all heroes wear capes!
No need tracklist when all the songs are unskippable
U da best
2024 still my most listened to set, remember when they just posted this
I love this album, in my opinion is a perfect 10/10
Definitely one of my all time favourites
great musicianship, the drummer is a beast
This is awesome !!! Thank you for uploading the whole set!
My favorite session of all time.
you seen Caspian's session(s)?
Love this new Tides of Man.. wow
You can tell these guys really love these songs too. They are into it!
the best modern post-rock band!! hands down!
I would love to agree. However this is a rich genre.
I find This Will Destroy You and MONO to be much, much better and more varied
Karan Gera I don’t find their music really well produced and ear pleasing. I find them overrated and pretty random/messy in composing music. For me, Caspian, God is an astronaut, if these trees could talk, sleepmakeswaves, etc are a lot a lot much better bands than TWDY, mono and GYBE!
@@brownkemosabe hmm what variety do you find in them?
@@post-man23 I love Caspian. Which of the other bands you listed would you recommend based on liking Caspian, gybe, this will destroy you, Russian circles.
@@HeyIntegritytry: overhead the albatross , Saxton shore , athletics , if these trees could talk , waves , Vasudeva , signal hill
I'm glad that Tides are still doing what they love. What you created in the passed is my favourite music of all time. I've listened to Empire Theory and Dreamhouse at least 1000 times each. It saddens me that it ended there and that a lot of people still haven't had the joy of hearing it.
Man!! I love this group. And the new Album is Fantastic!
dayum its been 3 years already... My playlist when i was studying in China. Brings back good memories :)
even without Tillian you guys are awesome
My favourite session on the channel!
2020 still in love with their art ♥️♥️♥️
So many awesome bands lately!
Where are you guys? I wanna more postrock
AMAZING! hope they will be playing at Chicago soon!
Dam the quality of the sound man. A1
Man, these guys deserve more views.... their music was so, how should i put it, intriguing...
Heavy? Not in the traditional like "hardcore" sense, but feeling wise, like overwhelming. You can feel a story to what they're playing
Blake is a great interviewer! He asks interesting questions that bands are actually interested in answering. I always learn something valuable from his interviews.
Holy s**t that first song gave me thrills, amazing band
We were only dreaming. Omg. Divine.
Damn! Good work boys!
this band is so fucking fantastic. first time i heard of them they were live supporting polyphia- this that gold you find amongst what you came for tho. top five finds of 2019 for me. cheers to tides of man.
great!
really reminds me of explosions in the sky
Or Appleseed Cast
The Best Music Ever ! Congratulations :)
Please bring them back for Everything Nothing!!
Which kind of "video stabilizer" do you guys use while recording your sessions?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Homage to Pink Floyd's "Pigs(Three Different Ones)" by Tides of Man. 27:58
the last one really is epic. best for the death day.
tremeloooooo
I love so hard the presenter's voice... addictive to listen
Tracklist? :3 what's the name of the song they play after the first "interview break"? (arround 12:30 I guess)
It's "We Were Only Dreaming."
Thanks!
they work better this way without a vocalist in my opinion, though their stuff back then were good too.
Props to Cloudkicker!
Y?
What does cloud kicker have to do with Tides of Man?
You guys clearly didn't pay attention to the last part of the interview before Young and Courageous
What band was he saying “piano… what?”
I liked then disliked just so I could like it again
Atliens tho.
last
Whoops! Some goof missed the like button. :(
this is much better without tilian, amazing!
The best part is how 2 of the guitarists are playing the same chords at any given time. Really makes sense.
Try watching it
final this genere of music but not being played a million notes a second. The less notes the more important they are,
Hold stil could be better at the end
I really like these songs but they often will fall into these places where no one is doing anything that sounds interesting. For example on the song hold still, its going great then towards the end it hits a spot where its absolutely boring and it never gets better. I would post the time but I would have to relisten to the song to pick it out, and i really don't want too, that should tell you something (Tides if your reading). The songs have a little bit of this, but they need that wow factor, where a listener would be like, wow I want to come back and listen to that, it was amazing. Instead each song is often a repeat of the same riff. Its like I hear a riff and automatically know, well here we go for the next minute listening to the same thing over and over.
Not trying to be negative but tell the truth on how I feel. Hope it helps.
You guys need a new singer!
I dislike the video. It's not long enough 😡
