Playing since the launch day....I went in with very little expectations and I was wrong to think this is just another open world , but I'm glad I was absolutely wrong !

And knowing the history of Sucker Punch studios , their games were alright , like a 7 or 8 out of 10. Now if you ask me if I'm going to buy AC Valhalla , or Watch Dogs Legion day 1.....Hell No ! Only after the reviews.
I really hope this game is a trilogy because I need more of this in the future. I've been playing this nonstop and having a blast. Definitely this is one of my favorite games in quite a while.
i would be down for other similar games, but i don't think a sequel for this story would be any good. Assassins creed is a good example of what happens when you do that. and they learned their lesson after 4 games that were failures in a row.
@@thezestypatriot8513 AC's fault in their subsequent games is constantly changing protagonists throughout. Their most notable work were Ezio's trilogy, having a trilogy with Jin is a must and the fact that they could still improve from an already great game they made screams for a sequel.
nah,the story was over already.i prefer if sucker punch trying to adapt something like authentic hashashin story,like ac but we actually use the original assassin.that would be dope as hell.

I enjoyed the witcher 3 and i find this game similar to ghost of tsushima in many aspects.. Also RDR2 was a masterpiece in my opinion... Last of us the first one the story and the whole experience was great... Ghost of tsushima have something special and so unique.. I hope you understand what i mean... By the way i'm a gamer and not a fanboy of a particular game or console.. I enjoy all of them if they were good..

David Kennard yh that’s why I used gow, it has no online modes and is a straight campaign with some open world values like exploring areas doing challenges etc it has sick gear that adds to gameplay and mechanics but not too much in terms of content outside of mainstory. I still put in hours hunting valkyries etc I wanna get this game but whe I see 38 gb I’m like man 56 for a small game?

Your reviews are more detailed than these professional reviewers. You're the first person who mentioned how awkward stance switching is. The open world also feels very empty, trees and animals aren't modeled properly ,you can walk right through them. There's also no stair animation for the character.
Great review as always! Just a quick tip, you need to actualy hold down R2 to switch stances, you can just tap it and press the face button, so change is smoother. =)
Platinum it. Goty for me. I completed all side quest first before I play the main story. But I did suffer on not having my grappling hook. But when I did get it completed every shrines ad more with no issue. Great game alot of exploring. 9.5\10. I just wish the hunting could had been more fun but it works and I was shock that there was no fishing in the game. It would had been nice. But it is still a great game with little bugs.
Game is far from boring. Great story and gameplay. But some people thought red dead 2 was boring as well. I’m only 4 hours in but it’s so addictive!! And looks beautiful! I have not played a better game this year.
I never had issues with the hostage encounters and I almost never went in stealthy lol Just stand next to them and attack anyone coming for them. The game gives you so much time and places each hostage far enough away from each other that you shouldn’t end up triggering one you can’t get to?
I haven't played the game yet but I've seen quite some of the videos or gameplay. I can say it's so refreshing. I mean developers should take a leaf from here, This is what a proper adventure game should be. The combat should be cinematic like a movie not like some cartoon like yakuza where you see coloured lights all over the character's body during combat and also no random button mashing or spamming that even blind person can play. I love the fact that the combat is quite tactical. I'm looking forward to a game like this with hand to hand combat, Martial arts. Sucker Punch. Thank you, well done.

They've laid the ground work by creating a really solid, great game... now for Ghost 2 they just need to listen to the criticism, improve on that, and take it to the next level. Ghost 2 can literally be the next Mass Effect 2.
yeah, i hope they add new game + soon, and a skip cutscene at least for new game + savefile. i wanna play the game again with any armor i want and just kills a bunch of enemies lol
One of my favourite games ever. I never got bored and for that kind of game the story is very solid compared to Assassins Creed. This will probably my first platinum game on the PS4. For everyone asking if it‘s worth buying: Yes it is!
This looks very impressive. As i know what happened at Tsushima i didn't think there was much scope for a game, but a guerrilla was makes sense which is what this seems to be.
My only problem with the game is that when I finished it and earned the platinum trophy I can't do anything. The lack of replayable outposts makes the game very hard to continue playing after fully completing it. I have to ride everywhere for a random Mongol patrol to appear. However, I still enjoy very much to walk around and appreciate the vast open world. I love this game, but I find it hard starting it all over again since I like to complete every single thing and find all collectables in a game I enjoy much playing. I would strongly recommend taking your time and absorb every little aspect and information the game gives you and also don't rush to complete it. Overall my experience with the game is a solid 9/10
Does this game do anything new? No not really. But when it has style and substance.....it helps make this a refreshing change. It’s fun, and has a gorgeous world to explore. Finally a game that does HDR right! And the colors help solidify a game that will be remembered! 30 hrs in and still in act 1 collecting vanity pieces and just exploring....putting the adventure in an action adventure title!!! Sony just keep killing it with the Masterpieces this generation. I know TLOU 2 gets a lot of hate but i personally loved it and i love this game also. This is shaping up to be a great year for gaming with these quality games and a new generation just around the corner.
When it came to The Last of Us part 2 Was there a time when you were the only one who liked it? because I did And for Ghost of Tsushima; I didn’t like their last two games (second son and first light) I felt like this was SuckerPunch getting their act together
@Frankie Basile Played and liked both, Sekiro was my favorite of the two, but it just has too much fantasy elements, and thats why I like Ghost of Tsushima a bit more. It's more realistic and the enemies are humans and some animals like dogs and bears like in Tenchu. Fun fact Fromsoftware started the Sekiro development as a new Tenchu. But many new things where added, and then it became a whole new game. I still hope that they will bring back Tenchu one day, now after when Sekiro was a succes.
So If you’ve recently played Nioh and made Sekiro Platinum - I feel a bit over saturated with Samurai era games, is it worth to play it now or should I wait to feel more interested before playing?
NIoh and sekiro is more dark soul while Ghost is more like AC game.. in japan... but if you like samurai era game you should had not problem with it... but if you want to wait it also fine but i doubt you can get a copy since they don't made that many copy and i doubt most owner would resell them....
Yoo i just got the game basically its worth the money. I did my homework on u tube for a while. Iv got it and its beautiful stealth and war wat else do u need with a open map. They need to make more games like this 100%
I honestly never had an issue with or even failed the hostage situations, even on harder difficulties. If I do fight head on, I’m always close to the hostage. I find the platforming forgivable despite some hiccups. The only legitimate problem I had was the lack of lock on.
i cant remember if you mention how fast it loads, but i think it should be mention, also, comparing it too much on last of us is a bit off, since last of us is not open world. but i agree at most of the review.
Being an open world does not mean you can't invest in higher quality character animations for pre-rendered cinematics. And I didn't mention fast load times because I never felt the loadtimes were all that fast. They were pretty normal.
@@Nick930 i can agree on character cinematics, but visuals, environment, photorealistic i think being an open world and mostly linear have an effect on it. and really? normal loadtimes? do you have an ssd? any ps4 user can tell how different the loadtimes is, try to fast travel or die in any ps4 games and compare it. i have a base PS4 btw.
I found that exact same NPC doing that very thing glitching out and I couldn’t stop laughing. It has to be something related to that NPC specifically because it’s pathed to walk right into that elevated step lol
You think this wins over The Last of Us 2? TLOU2 is still GOTY for me. I did enjoy this game but the play mechanics are not as fluid. Also the story is decent not as gripping as TLOU2. This does remind me of an Assassin's Creed game.
So far for me personally the game is amazing. The gameplay and graphics are phenomenal! 10/10 for me. However the only thing I don't enjoy is following the wind to get to your desired location. I'd rather it would be more like RDD2 & AC Odyssey with the circle map in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

You will find cosmetic changes to your swords. But not ACTUAL different sets of swords. You're still using only the one katana and tanto blade the entire game
Might have to go hard mode and wear the traveler's attire all the time. I'm no pro in action games but I'm avoiding wearing mythic or upgraded armor just so every mistake is more punishing. I know it sort of artificially makes it difficult but that's what we can do while waiting for a higher difficulty
The game looks really good, and if i had money to throw around id buy it. Since I'm on a budget, i tend to look at things i really enjoy in games. Like multiplayer. Single player games arent bad but i prefer teaming up with people sometimes. It can be fun.
The rope could have been used more in combat and stealth, like pulling enemies up onto posts by u dropping down like a weight. And more entrance points in buildings with more combat inside. But that's all really loved everything else they're just things j wish I could do.
I’ve had a few bugs but mostly when I leave my PS4 in rear mode for days in the middle Of missions. But it’s so immersive and rewards for exploration and doing the side content. Ps4 has the best exclusives period
I have mixed thoughts about this game. It's beautiful world, combat system, story is really good. It is more a journey, than game play. I wanted the option to kill Ishikawa during the side missions related to searching for Tomoe. I wish there were choices and consequences for killing and deviating, with different outcomes. The boring part of this game is that we will all go through the exact same journey and finale in this game. But during this covid times, this game is a savior.

Wow, before I thought it was gonna be a bootleg, boring assassins creed game, but I was so wrong. I finished the game already. The downside to this game is the ai. Sometimes the ai would just stand and not do anything while in combat. Everything except for the ai is perfect. For me, this game is a 9/10.
Honestly, you might as well call this the unofficial new A.C. game, bc tons of people agreed upon the idea of taking the franchise to historical Japanese culture, following from odyssey

This is easily the world's best haiku simulator with the additional samurai side missions and content.

Nioh and Sekiro are nothing like ghost of tsushima.
Ghost is grounded in reality and is much closer related to an assassins creed game

and really? normal loadtimes? do you have an ssd? any ps4 user can tell how different the loadtimes is, try to fast travel or die in any ps4 games and compare it. i have a base PS4 btw.

I found that exact same NPC doing that very thing glitching out and I couldn’t stop laughing. It has to be something related to that NPC specifically because it’s pathed to walk right into that elevated step lol

Such a rich story. A beautifully sad ending. A number of exciting tales for characters. And amazing mythic quests. What more do you need
Lots of AC vibes but that's mainly because there are so many AC games they have saturated the open world market! Being a samurai is just freakin cool

You think this wins over The Last of Us 2? TLOU2 is still GOTY for me. I did enjoy this game but the play mechanics are not as fluid. Also the story is decent not as gripping as TLOU2. This does remind me of an Assassin's Creed game.
So far for me personally the game is amazing. The gameplay and graphics are phenomenal! 10/10 for me. However the only thing I don't enjoy is following the wind to get to your desired location. I'd rather it would be more like RDD2 & AC Odyssey with the circle map in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

You will find cosmetic changes to your swords. But not ACTUAL different sets of swords. You're still using only the one katana and tanto blade the entire game

Enjoyed myself. But i just wish it could be harder. I am a bit of an overpowered samurai from the start.
Might have to go hard mode and wear the traveler's attire all the time. I'm no pro in action games but I'm avoiding wearing mythic or upgraded armor just so every mistake is more punishing.
I know it sort of artificially makes it difficult but that's what we can do while waiting for a higher difficulty
It's a great game, nice background view, excited to play.
The game looks really good, and if i had money to throw around id buy it. Since I'm on a budget, i tend to look at things i really enjoy in games. Like multiplayer. Single player games arent bad but i prefer teaming up with people sometimes. It can be fun.

The rope could have been used more in combat and stealth, like pulling enemies up onto posts by u dropping down like a weight. And more entrance points in buildings with more combat inside. But that's all really loved everything else they're just things j wish I could do.
I’ve had a few bugs but mostly when I leave my PS4 in rear mode for days in the middle Of missions. But it’s so immersive and rewards for exploration and doing the side content. Ps4 has the best exclusives period

I have mixed thoughts about this game. It's beautiful world, combat system, story is really good. It is more a journey, than game play. I wanted the option to kill Ishikawa during the side missions related to searching for Tomoe. I wish there were choices and consequences for killing and deviating, with different outcomes. The boring part of this game is that we will all go through the exact same journey and finale in this game. But during this covid times, this game is a savior.
it is unavoidable... i just down right don't care what ishikawa said since he is the most useless teacher.. but i know tomoe do everything to survive. since she a pretty nobody girl...he keep saying he love her as daughter but look at her and you can tell he had blueball...

Wow, before I thought it was gonna be a bootleg, boring assassins creed game, but I was so wrong. I finished the game already. The downside to this game is the ai. Sometimes the ai would just stand and not do anything while in combat. Everything except for the ai is perfect. For me, this game is a 9/10.
Honestly, you might as well call this the unofficial new A.C. game, bc tons of people agreed upon the idea of taking the franchise to historical Japanese culture, following from odyssey

I had to go back and re-listen to some of your nitpicks with the game. Parkour is fun yet rough and the few issues this game has can easily be overlooked.
