Hi Duntov, I apologize for the long comment, I rarely comment, I've been a long time subscriber though. Yes, you are 100% correct about the tunnel! When I worked room service at the Trop in the mid 80's before the second Tower was built. A couple things, looking at the construction site from the Excalibur. 1. Yes that rectangular tunnel was from the original part of the Trop, under The pool and came out on the other side under the newer tower. It was big enough you could probably fit a small car in there. In the original hotel room service used the kitchen at the "Java Java" coffee shop, we set up a second room service out of the "Tropics Cafe" we had to use what people in the kitchen areas of most hotels would know as "Queen Mary's" they are giant stainless steel shelves about 4 or 5 feet high and usually 5 to 8 ft long, with wheels on the bottom. It took about five of us guys to make sure we didn't lose control as we were going down into the tunnel with all of the stuff to set up that new area, but we had to have enough momentum and everybody had to use all their might to push it to get it up on the other side of the tunnel which was where it came up over there. We even asked the executive managers if we could move all the stuff over going across that bridge that used to be there, and they wouldn't let us! 2. Where that tunnel originated it was a whole underground underneath the original hotel, which was full of all kinds of different areas, kitchens separate areas for the bakery, executive kitchen area, chef's offices, dish rooms with huge dishwashers that were manned by 2 or more people sometime, The "Helps Hall" or employee cafeteria. Almost every hotel on the strip is just a labyrinth of tunnels underneath for all the staff to move about the property, the hotel doesn't want their staff walking through the casino. Think about it when was the last time you saw cooks and kitchen staff in a casino on the floor. As always, excellent video! I also watch your mirage to hard rock hotel videos. I'm so glad you got the water cooler! Now you know what the next thing you need to get is: that lonely little tree, I bet you anything they're just going to knock it down or pull it out. And if you can find somebody with a truck now's the best time to move it cuz it doesn't have any leaves on it. Thanks again for the great videos I really enjoy them! I got one question, when you look at the construction site from the Excalibur, NYNY or even by the MGM if you look along the median that separates traffic on Las Vegas boulevard, are those great big poles between the street lamps and the palm trees, are they new? I was wondering if they might move those huge power lines that are over in front of where the Tropicana was. I always thought that looked bad when the property had the Tropicana there. I think that would really take away from the stadium once it's built for the Las Vegas Athletics. If I remember right they moved that same power lines that used to be in front of what was the Marina Hotel and when they changed it to the MGM, I don't think those power lines are still there.
Wow, thanks for sharing those stories about working at the Tropicana! I never knew about the tunnels and all the different areas underneath. That's fascinating.
Awh Congratulations on your water cooler 🚰 That's very nice of one of the demolition worker's to get it for you. 😇It's always nice to own soming cool like this 👍 I own one of the Paradise Towers Room Phone. ☎️ witch was one of luxury suites room's at the very top of Paradise Tower 👌 owning this gives me so much joy 😊. One's again congratulations I love your videos as well from Ben
so cool you got the cooler. must be someone on site watching your updates. wonder given the width of some of that concrete if some of below ground areas were built to bomb shelter specks? man that's an awful lot of concrete with what looks like a lot more to go below ground.
I would disassemble and clean the cooler and make it a functional piece of Tropicana memorabilia. Those chips expired exactly on my birthday when I turned 24. Let me know if you want to sell one.
Love the reveal at the end! That is so cool you were able to get that!
Happy you got the cooler you really wanted. That was really great of someone to get that for you
Thank you, it was a surprise!
You kept the water cooler, nice!! Congratulations, Duntov for keeping that along with some casino chips that were buried underground!
Those retro casino chips are neat!

Saw some good drone footage that was taken last week: ua-cam.com/video/nmTvhaAEbNk/v-deo.html
All this for a losing team that will never amount to anything.
Bah, humbug!
