Mechanic here! Loved watching your mk build series, I would 100% get this engine up & running, anything is fix able, these engines are super rare now, wether you use the Robin or another chassis, a cosworth restoration series is something I’m sure a lot of us would enjoy watching!

Easy answer to your question, rip the engine and gearbox out buy a indy classic chassis from MK (2k) and put it together. With that configuration you will be able to kick Robs arse in his MK until he puts his snale on 😊😎💥💥
😂😂😂 so many options to choose from, if I do go down that route I’d want a break from building a kit 😂
@@TheParrottBros yes m8 I agree but all you do is send the engine and gearbox to MK and get them to sort out the engine mounts and while it's with them get them to fit brake lines and fuel lines, sorted, not so much work for you 😉 😎💥💥
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this Dom. I would strip and rebuild the engine and put it into an MK/GBS or, if you can get a shell, a mk1 or 2 escort.
There is so many possibilities it’s hard to decide what to do, putting it in a mk1 or mk2 escort would be cool but getting harder and more expensive to find
There seems to be a lot of scrap attached to that engine, looking forward to seeing what you can do with it.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to find hence buying for the engine and trans. Then anything else was a bonus, that’s certainly an option to be considered 👌🏻
I love the look of this car, Looks like you will have to rebuild the engine 😰 I think you should save the engine and put it into a trike 😁
That would be a bit mad, I actually have something else lined up for it due to be shown soon
I'm not an expert by any means, it looks like a huge amount of work. If the engine can be saved then that's a good plan, the rest of it looks like toast to me.
Your on the money mate, Hey everything can be saved at a price, whether that be time, money or both... While i like the idea of a cosworth kit car this one just requires too much time and money to get it back to being anything close to a safe and roadworthy option.... Now lets see if we cant get that engine running haha
Great video. I think you should convert an orginal mini to two seater turn rear wheel drive. That would be cool. Cosworth mini😊

@@TheParrottBros it would be epic though :) youve got the wiring in the new one just be shortern the chasis and put on mini top:) but i did look a little while a go a mini shell goes for strong strong money these days. Maybe a mini metro🤔
interesting project, Robin Hoods are a cheaply engineered kit to start with, Iv got a mk2 with 2 liter pinto and hillclimb it, they can handle fab if built right, This one needs work but worth doing right
I can imagine its great fun with a pinto, ive read a few times they are well matched power to weight, this one just needs too much time and money to get it back to what would be anything near roadworthy and safe, so i would rather opt for a better example
All of us petrol heads have experienced at some point, project disasters. I would scrap this poorly assembled and unsafe vehicle and keep the engine to be rebuilt at a later stage. Just my opinion Dom.
I would rebuild it(save it). It would be good content for you as well. Then compare it with the other, see which one is faster, better handling(compare them).
As much as i like your thinking i would rather put it into a better kept kit than throwing money at something thats been too played around with for my liking
Looking forward to the next one, for me it’s too far gone, I would stick the engine in a TT, what else 🤷🏻♂️🤣

Strip and rebuild the engine m539 style if it's not beyond saving, I'd be very concerned if it was just water in there and not antifreeze, potential for lots of internal corrosion.
Yes that is quite a concern of mine too... before it goes onto the road in another shell it will come apart for a full refresh but until then lets see if we can get it turning over and even better running.... if its not seized that is haha Sundays video should be a good one

OMG Dom, i was really pleased for you when you bought it, after looking it looks like its come from scrap heap challenge 😮, love the engine though ❤, keep that, worth a fortune rebuilt, and my choice of car for it would be a mk2 escort. scrap the Robin too many bodges, good luck brother
Thanks buddy. Bought it based on the engine and gearbox. The rest was a gamble. Would have been wicked to get it up and running but the time and money would be best spent on putting it in something else for sure
sorry to say but it looks like you bought a right DOG , did bodge it and leg it build this car, I hope you can do something with it and get it back on the road

You need to strip that engine, if its been sat there with no oil and just water in it there could be all sorts of nasties inside that are better found now, that firing it up and it lunching itself..
But where is the fun in that..... sundays video will be exciting one way or the other, Run or Gun 😅
I’d fully strip it down no ifs or buts about it.
Well.... this sunday we will be seeing if we can get it turning over, if we can then will try and get it running, if all else fails its coming out anyway 😅
Stick the engine back into a sierra, that would be a much better project.
Id love to but can't remember the last time i saw a rolling shell with ID for less than 20k that wasn't a rust bucket 😅😅
Send engine off to Barum Engines. They are Cosworth specialists and fellow youtubers.

Wow, it’s builds like this that give kit cars a bad name. Rebuild and use the engine in another project, the Sierra bits have value but bin the rest. Is it correctly registered? Subscribed and really interested to see where you go with this.
Its not been on the road since the swap was done, so it will still be registered as a 2L pinto i believe, that wont be an issue as this is not going onto another road either way.... I will get on the hunt for a more suitable rolling project for this engine
If you decide to steal the engine maybe I should try and 1.8t it? 🤔

I’m not moaning at all, I’m just stating the facts, was hopeful I could get it on the road but explain why I don’t think it’s worth while. Sorry you perceive it as that.
Definitely pull the motor and tranny. Have them gone through and rebuilt. Then put them in an MK Classic. Would make an excellent car.
Try and sell it dom get your money back lot of work in that car your kit car is a rolls Royce compared to that
