      I get that you might not understand but it really does help with cutting weight. Lunch gives you the energy to move during your weight cut… if you don’t have food, you don’t have energy to metabolize into heat, thus you can’t cut a lot of water weight. I wish I knew this during high school, it would have made weight cuts a lot easier. So please eat something during the day before you do your sweat cutting, a little food weighs less than a pound

    For those of you who don’t understand, it was a forfeit match. So they didn’t have anyone at his weight class so he automatically won the match.

    Gotta love all the work to cut and make weight for a forfeit. I don't miss cutting but I always loved stepping on the scale to see I achieved my goal.

    The worst is the highscool round robins. And you have to stand there ready go in headgear and a singlet just standing around for 5 minutes while they call a name. Then right at 4:58 seconds they show up in a full fucking sweat.

    I remember stepping on the mat at a tournament, nervous and anxious af, and the other guy hasn't shown up yet. My coach comes up to me and pep talks me for a good 30 seconds.
    The ref comes up and says we can stop talking strategy. The other wrestler was DQ'ed when they found out he had ringworm.

    What was you actual fastest match though? I remember wrestling in high school and a forfeit never felt like a W but a 13 second pin was electric! Love the vids man!

    Augustana has a pretty good sized room! That's at least as big as the room at Oklahoma State was when I was at OSU, maybe even bigger.

    Dude my coach had me stressed tf out tournament before last I weighed 140 wrestling 144 then he told me I'm wrestling 138 so I had to drop less then 24 hours before weighs ins when I got
    there I weighed 137.5 then I found out I'm wrestling 144 then I was getting ready to wrestle waited hour and a half first round was a bye man it sucked

    Hi It’s my 5th year wrestling but didn’t start cutting weight till last year it was easy last year because I just didn’t eat 1-3 days before weigh ins but this year that doesn’t work I have tried running the treadmill every day with a sweat suit on and wrestle 4 hours a day, 4 days a week plus meets and have a good diet. Any ideas to help me cut weight? Also, I have been watching you since I started and it’s made me a lot better. Thanks

    I have been doing the ice baths for the past year for recovery, but have been hearing a lot lately that it doesnt help much. Ive even seen videos now that say it hurts muscle growth, whats everyone opinions on this?

      Don’t do it after a lift for muscle growth but there’s a reason body builders still do it and wrestlers don’t need that much muscle

      No, he weighed in the day after the drive, he was just cutting weight the day before so he doesn't have to be in calorie deficit day of match.

    Most kids lose because they werent able to defeat themselves first!
    Reminds me of several occasions when seniors would forfiet in regional tournaments and that was their season since they didnt make weigh ins . This was back when hydration was considered to be a weakness 😅 until weigh ins. Then bump up a ton . Those were the good days 🤔
    Those kids never fully recovered from such events. It becomes a twitch 😖
