Very nice! Quick tip: get some dowel marking pins and pop them into your keyhole slots. Tape them in with masking tape, then just place your piece against the wall, find the right height and level, then push. The pins will dimple the wall exactly where you need to drill.
It seems like it needs to be glued to a thinner piece of wood for the backing so the square pieces don't move as well. I know there is no angle cut on those, but it still seems unstable without a backing
Thanks! Good succinct video! Question though, how do the blocks stay in closed position, purely by friction? I was wondering whether I could drill the dowel hole closer to the front face of the coat rack so that its center of gravity would keep it rotating towards the wall (and closing it), but I think it might interfere with how far the block can open. After finishing this, do you think there's a better cut to make for a good opening angle instead of cutting the 45 and then trimming the corner?
Why not use a 3” strip across the back 1/2” thick to tie all the non movable pieces together, give it a cool floating effect and negate the need to trim the corner off your 45.
Would it make it easier to flip if we use a metal rod? I am curious what is keeping them in the vertical position and not leaning when not in use? The tight fit?
Nice build. If I may make one suggestion. Next time cut ALL the two inch blocks then ALL the one inch blocks. Not constantly inserting the spacer block for every i other block. 😉
On your finished product that is mounted to the wall, when the movable pieces (the hooks) are pivoted out - how far down are the tops of them from the tops of the non-moving pieces? I'm thinking of adding a shelf across the top to display small items and I was wondering if there would be enough room to still hang a coat or hat up over the hook if a shelf was in the way... Thanks for the nice step-by-step video.
You have a nice product however you are teaching your followers poor shop practices. For example reaching over the saw blade with your left hand while ripping and cross arm cutting on the chop saw ( don't hold a piece on the right side of the saw with your left hand and cut with the right )

This is the perfect design for what I had in mind for a project I'm doing. Thanks!
When the miter angled cuts where going to the beat...that was magical. Great video!
Great instructions, and even better results! love the enthusiasm
😅 great enthusiasm! Good info thanks!! I want to do a wall and this flip down rack incorporated.

yeah same here..i did this design today. when u hang a jean or relatively heavy clothes, hanger part is forcing to the wall so it moves.
Goodjob. I would’ve not drilled the end pieces all the way though. Only half way so the rod would not show on the ends.
same idea ;)
TY

Respect mate, that is a beautiful piece of work!!
Great work. What are the dimensions?

Excellent design and execution! Beautiful.
Puede ser una isla movil para cocina y para poner cubiertos, platos etc 😆?

He did it like this so the wood grain would all line up and flow together. Its the little details.
Good point about following the woods grain. Thank you.
I like this idea,I think it came out great
Super, Great, nice step by step demo
A planer doesn’t square up a board it will just mimic whatever is on the other side, use a jointer for all sides except ends
I would love to learn how to make keyhole slots, you make it look so easy.what are all the tools you used to make them if you don't mind me asking
Came out looking great. Nice job.
Thanks a lot!
Man, you sound so energetic and joyful!
I wish i had half of his empathy
Lmao!
Is that what you clicked on the video for?
Built one for me now others who see it want one.
This is beautiful! 😃
Walnut is such a nice wood
How about alternating between 1 1/2 inch & 1 inch. (Space constraints for where I will hang it) will use oak, btw.
What angle did you cut after the 45 degree
Honestly not sure, just kind of eyeballed it to trim off the sharp corner to give it some room to clear the wall
That's neat that the hooks fold away flush.
Very nice work 👏
I'm wondering having worked with Black walnut aren't you worried about the hooks snapping with the grain running on the narrow side??
Good job well done
Hi there! Great video! Are you going to make any more of these? They’re sold out on your site. :( Also those end grain butcher blocks are beautiful!
Wow kreatif master,,amazing
Nice project.
great video, congrats! thank you for your content
This DeWalt model please
What drill bit is used??
Awesome! Looks gr8......
Amazing!!!

Lovely!
I know that woodprix has the best woodworking plans ever.
what are the damention of your coat rack
These are right at 30" wide and 6 or 7" tall if I remember correctly.
What thickness did you finish with?
They are about 7/8" thick
Looks gr8
Thanks!
Awesome!
thank you!
Wow is NYC bro excellent
You sound like the guy from the clear eyes comercial
What was the final width of the board?
just an estimate of the width: 3" x (however many hangers) + 2" + ( ~1/16 per hanger) = 29 & 9/16"
According to him: 30" by 6-7" by 7/8"
Hermosísimo 🤗...subtitulos en Español por favor 🍀🤞🙏
Nice job. thank you for sharing.
bravo
Ajiib....👍
👍👍👍
He sounds like fun...
Its nice but the song is quite annoying
My adventure with the tree began with projects from Woodprix.
I did something very similar, new plans from Avasva helped me with this.
Sounds great!
Thanks a lot
I recommend Woodglut to every beginner and not only.
Make it wooden with the help of the Woodglut instructions.

Fácil, aprende inglés. Cheers!
Thousands of lifetime projects with Stodoys plans.

I was thinking the same. Stumpy Nubs would have a fit.
He showed them how to build a product how they run their tools is up to them.
Stodoys scripts contain most of the woodworking plans you can find.

Man that is some thick accent you have there. Such slow speech, and the drawl to go with it. Lol let me guess. The foothills of virginia? Am i right?
Zzzz
Maybe add a little enthusiasm to describe your project....You sound like you really don't want to be doing this video...
Too many tools
Wear a mask...
I started with Woodglut plans.
You can put the measurements l do not speak English thanks
Splendidly to see Woodprix have new plans which helped me save some money and energy for this construction.
