I love all your podcasts and never miss one. But there’s just something special about your Azzurri podcasts 🇮🇹
Bastoni did give his jersey to a young boy in our section behind the net. 💪
you're the MANNNNN mike
Donnarumma, Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni, Bellanova, Jorginho, Barella, Dimarco, Chiesa, Pellegrini, Retegui
Very excited about Pellegrini.
@@miked2075what a player lately 👏👏👏
Maybe Scalvini in place of Acerbi, I feel like he's going to have a falling out with Spalletti
I agree with this lineup, but I would have Di Lorenzo start in place of Bellanova. Bring Bellanova in around 70th minute, his pace will be even more effective when facing tired defenders. Di Lorenzo starts because of his experience and leadership, plus he's still playing at a very high level, although he is a step-off from last season.
Please, no more Jorginho in the Nazionale ! This guy must be excluded FOREVER 'cause if Italy didn't qualify for WC 2022, he was responsible (he failed 2 penalties against Switzerland).
352: donnarumma- bastoni- mancini- darmian- dimarco- pellegrini- jorginho- barella- bellanova- chiesa- retegui
I would pay any amount of money to see King Antonio walk out on the pitch with an Azzurri player🐐🤴
Got chills during the tribute to Joe at Red Bull Arena and seeing the Ciao Joe banner. Big loss for calcio and the sport in general. He will be missed. 💜
🙏
That traitor turned his back on his people. He comes from Calabria and bought a club that is supported by people who hate Calabria. Vergognatevi
My Perfect Formation 4-3-3:
Donarumma
Di lorenzo-gatti-bastoni-di marco
Pellegrini-jorginho-barella
politano-Retegui-chiesa
Tonali and berardi will be heavily missed
why gatti? what did gatti do this season that would make anyone think that he is 2nd best italian center back? if anything Calafiori is probably the one that deserves a call up and could do well in 4 man defense because he has pace and is good on the ball too
Fine tribute guys. Well done.
You guys are the best, I wish I got to meet you at the game. I was in section 127 and it felt like it was 60/40 Ecuadoreans.
(Angelo from CT)
Spalletti seemed to want 3-5-2 with an option of changing it in play to 4-3-3, that's why Di Lorenzo a right center back.
With 3-5-2: Donnarumma, Di Lorenzo, Scalvini, Bastoni, Bellanova, Jorginho, Barella, Dimarco, Chiesa, Pellegrini, Retegui
Great channel!
Ya we had a lot of character when we won the euros. Insigne was always joking around and everyone was happy
Di Lorenzo dominated when he came in
Gnonto is in fantastic form for Leeds, he's just behind Chiesa
He's 100% better than Zaniolo or Orsolini and the Championship is actually a decent level competition these days.
@@zaffage orsolini has 9goals & 2 assists in 25 serieA games for the team that is currently 4th in the league chasing a Champions league place and you're trying to say that another guy who has 7goals & 2 assists in 30 games for a team chasing promotion from the English 2nd division should be called up ahead of him???? Hmmm 🤔
Well, I guess we're lucky that you're not the 1 picking the squad 🤷
*I'll also point out that Italy is currently ranked as the best league in Europe by UEFA
@@ilcarcerieredimauri79why do you people just watch players ? Always bringing up stats without actually watching them. A lesser player can have superior stats you do know that right ?
@@ilcarcerieredimauri79Italy is not ranked the number 1 league btw. That’s just for this season. The overall ranking is over 5 seasons.
@@joeb7619stats can definitely be deceiving because they don’t tell the whole story. But I’m not crazy about the idea of any player in second division starting over players who are productive players in any of the top 4 leagues. Chiesa also does have a knack for bigger matches.
For the 433, Chiesa and Zaniolo would be able to cut in and shoot when they want. Dimarco can go up if the lw does cut in. Same with Bellanova or Di Lorenzo on the other side.
Zaniolo is not a good winger he is better up top playing as a shadow striker.. Zaniolo is direct he wants to run in behind he is not good at passing or crossing when it comes to playing on the wing I don't know how people cant see that Zaniolo decision making is poor if he is on the wing but if he plays as a someone who has a job to run in behind he can cause plenty of problems for any team
My team 3-4-2-1
Donnarumma, Bastoni, Acerbi, Scalvini
Di Marco, Jorginho, Barella, Cambiaso
Chiesa, Pellegrini
Retegui
I can only imagine what kind of crazy assists would Di Marco, Chiesa and Pellegrini serve to Retegui
how are you gonna put 20 year old Scalvini in there and 36 year old Acerbi both are not good enough... Acerbi was never great defender... Scalvini is too young and what is his biggest problem is he lacks strength... Chilini would absolutely body anyone that comes near him Scalvini struggles so much with anyone he faces both Scalvini and Boungiorno struggled against Rondon in Venezela game and that is against Rondon you can only imagine what they would be doing against Lukaku, Giroud, Kane...
For the 4-3-3 try a random guy for the RW... Federico Ricci instead of Zaniolo 😂
In a more serious note, happy to have another video today! Great job 🔥
I like Darmian a lot and I would play him but you forgot that Scalvini is right footed and currently plays as a RCB for Atalanta
Di Lorenzo is a great player both as a RCB and as a RWB
you totaly missed out on Gnonto and Politano that are the only natural right wingers.
Gnonto has a lot of talent and even though he plays in championship, he has 7 goals and 2 assists.
Politano is having a good season with already 6 goals and 5 assists
3-4-2-1
Donnarumma
Mancini-Acerbi-Bastoni
Bellanova-Jorginho-Barella-Di Marco
Pellegrini-Chiesa
Lucca
I would be more comfortable in the Group we're in if Veratti was present in our midfield. Pellegrini isn't strong enough I think. A midfield with Veratti, Jorginho and Barella is an excellent midfield.
A player from the Qatari League should not be considered.
Going to AC Milan match next week. Yall have any recommendations on where to go pre game and post game? Never been there.
My XIs
4-3-3
Donnarumma - Di Lorenzo, Scalvini, Bastoni, Dimarco - Barella, Jorginho, Pellegrini - Berardi, Retegui, Chiesa
4-2-3-1
Donnarumma - Di Lorenzo, Scalvini, Bastoni, Dimarco - Barella, Jorginho - Berardi, Pellegrini, Chiesa - Retegui
3-4-2-1
Donnarumma - Scalvini, Acerbi, Bastoni - Cambiaso, Barella, Jorginho, Dimarco - Chiesa, Pellegrini - Retegui
Berardi is injured
Definitely the facts are there for Retegui. No question. We newd back up strikers though. He cannot play every game full 90 minutes. Missed you guys at section 232. I guess you were on the curva Nord😂
Scalvini is right footed. The back 3 would’ve liked to see is LCB bastoni CB boungiorno RCB Scalvini
Colpani needs to be part of this team, he is so good
FORZA IFTV BEST CALCIO PODCAST 💙🖤
Spaletti's new 3-4-2-1 system could be interesting this coming Euro's. I'm quietly confident Italy will suprise the world of football. Here's my XI and cover. Overall squad for Euro 2024.
Donnarumma
(Vicario/Carnesecchi)
Darmian Acerbi Bastoni
(Di Lorenzo Mancini Calafiori)
Bellanova Barella Jorginho Dimarco
(Spinazzola Verratti Cristante Udogie)
Pellegrini Retegui Chiesa
(Zaniolo Scamacca Gnonto)
I think verrati is not playing any more.
Verratti is still playing but I don't know if he still plays for Italy.
Seriously? Cristante?!
Cristante purely just to defend a lead
42:04 Orsolini on the right 👌🏼
the gnongto disrespect is uncharted
The classic 4-4-2 would’ve been the best option for the national team. Donnarumma; Bellanova, Mancini, Bastoni, Spinazzola; Orsolini, Barella, Pellegrini, Zaccagni; Retegui, Chiesa
Off the bench we have guys like Zaniolo, Frattesi, Scamacca, Dimarco, Di Lorenzo, Politano etc. that can come on and make a difference too. These are the best options we have.
I personally think Zaccagni should be a guaranteed starter. We don’t have anyone who can dribble and move on the ball like him. Very underrated.
REST IN PEACE, JOE A LEGEND
gotta love how everyone ignored retegui for the last year or so until now. alway seemed to be the best bet if you want a true striker. ppl talking up scamacca probably just saw some youtube highlights w/o seeing how little he works or holds up the ball.
Scamacca has more goals for Atalanta with less mins than Retegui for Genoa. Retegui is a better Immobile for us while Scamacca is a Balotelli light. Which one starts will be interesting.
@Warriors49ers balotelli is light years better then scammaca ifffffff he had a brain
@@Warriors49ers Scamacca plays for a better team so he has more chances. I watch Genoa games. Retegui rarely gets any service and fights for every ball. Big difference. Scamacca is injury prone, not very physical despite his height, and doesn't work hard. Not sure how that fits well for Italy. It would be one thing if he was scoring for fun but he's been a disappointment this season.
18:04 when Antonio said he would choose to walk out with Barella when everyone said he would tower over him🤣🤣🤣
Marco: regarding Mancini, I completely understand that his personality on the pitch irks you. He’s a shit disturber no doubt, but you have to ask yourself who’s the better defender. Mancini has played two European finals in the last two years. As a Roma fan I can’t remember any major errors he’s made. His disciplinary record is a concern, but he’s somewhat toned it down this season. With the Azzurri, Mancini has not faltered. He is way more experienced than Scalvini and Buongiorno.
Re Zaniolo: There are two conversations here, one is whether you think he’s good enough and two is who are the alternatives. If you think Orsolini or Raspadori are more capable of scoring or creating opportunities I strongly disagree. Antonio NAILED it with his assessment of Zaniolo. He is easily the choice and it’s crazy to me that there’s even a debate. Marco, please return to this when Zaniolo tears it up this summer. Remember, Zaniolo prior to surgery was being talked about as potential ballon D’or by guys like Cappello. Be reasonable, Orsolini is not National team material.
ppl have formed their opinion about mancini a long time ago. you can't get through to them. if he doesn't get selected for the NT, he can finally heal from all the injuries this summer.
@@inter1020 you’ve nailed it. They’ve formed their opinions. Mancini was solid against Ecuador, no comment from the panel. Like he doesn’t exist. Scalvini, while I hope he continues to grow, is nowhere near the defender we need in a tournament. Mancini played two tournament finals in two years…zero acknowledgment of that. Yes, at least Roma doesn’t have to worry about injuries.
Inter Trio should be our 3 man defense but Mancini perhaps first sub.
433 - GK - Dona DEF - Di Lorenzo - Bastoni - Acerbi - Dimarco MID - Barella - Jorginho - Pellegrini - FOR - Politano - Retegui - chiesa
3 4 3 with Chiesa on bench against big teams. I dont think he can play whole match on 100% and on tournaments, first half against big teams is mostly getting to know each other and what you should go for. I think he could have bigger impact with starting on second halves against stronger opponents. Especially if you dont have strong backups you need to have someone from bench who can make difference. If Italy starts with their best players every time it will be too risky allin. Sadly they dont have that depth on bench like England or France.
I think that wild card from bench would just suit him better.
Its only my opinion dont get mad please :D
Why not Cambiaso right wingback?
More azzurri podcats pls
Bravo Video boys! My formation: 3-4-2 - Lineup- Donnarumma GK, Bastoni LCB , Acerbi CB , Darmian RCB, Dimarco LW, Jorgino CM, Barella CM, Bellanova RW, Scamacca FW, Retegui FW. Compliments from Canada, Niagara Falls.
Please, exclude Jorginho from the italian team, this guy is a total failure (if memory serves, he failed 2 penalties against Switzerland and then, Italy has paid the price), he's even worst than a black cat. Frattesi, Colpani deserves much more than him.
@@MILUNGAO Jorginho, will not take any penalties! The man’s cursed at the spot. If he goes out of the starting lineup, we got a few selections for the middle.
The argument over the RCB had me dying 🤣 Darmian for sure 💪🏼
@43:20 we can play a 3 4 3 with d marco as an inverted MD
spinazzola played LB in a 4-3-3 duing the euros and was one of the players of the tournament. dimarco played in a 4-3-3 during the qualifiers. not sure where this idea comes from he can only play as a wing back.
@@astanco1574 OK, but I never said that. He's been always injured anyway.
Chiesa needs to have freedom, we have to give him a free role in either formation especially the 3-4-2-1. And Juve needs to sack Allegri to save Chiesa and Juventus altogether.
Based on his consistency and maturity for his age, Bove deserved a call up to play a friendly at least
(3-5-2) donnarumma- bastoni- mancini- darmian- di marco- pellegrini- jorginho- barella- bellanova- chiesa- retegui
There are options for Italy. Playing Pellegrini in the front 3 would work in a 433 and a 3421. Chiesa can be on the RW cutting onto his favoured left foot and Pellegrini can play on the right cutting onto his favoured right foot. If Chiesa gets tired then I bring on Politano and if Pellegrini is tired I bring on Raspadori
Chiesa is right footed tho, which is why his favorite position is on the left so he can cut in. However, he was on the right in the Euros and was super impressive there, he can play either side bc he is a super star.
Chiesa-Retegui
Dimarco-Miretti-Locatelli-Barella-Di Lorenzo
Scalvini-Acerbi-Gatti
Vicario
for me it should be:
gk: donnarumma
rcb: darmian
cb: mancini
lcb: bastoni
rwb: bellanova
rcm: barella
cm: jorginhi
lcm: pellegrini
lwb: dimarco
rcf: retegui
lcf: chiesa
dynamic team that can play as 3-5-2, 3-4-2-1 or 4-3-3
bellanova as a starter might be a bit risky idk
Love this formation, tho I think Acerbi will start over Mancini with that experience and familiarity with the Inter defenders. Hopefully Ballanova starts bc he is the only RWB we have that is very attacking oriented. We need that on the right wing or else teams will overload our other side.
Team 1 (to start the match):
3-4-2-1
Donarumma - Bastoni, Buongiorno, Darmian - Dimarco, Jorginho, Barella, Cambiaso - Chiesa, Raspadori - Retegui
Team 2 (if formation change needed):
4-2-3-1
Donarumma - Cambiaso, Bastoni, Buongiorno, Darmian - Jorginho, Locatelli - Pellegrini, Raspadori, Orsolini - Retegui/Lucca
Colpani
@@hr-g4640 and Fabbian & Gaetano
Cambiaso on the right

Is verratti injured ?
Calafiori should be part of a back 3.
Where tho? His position would be the LCB but our best defender in Bastoni is there. This will be Acerbi's last tourney prolly, so Calafiori might have to try and take over the center spot or mb the RCB.
Agree with all of the line ups, but Di Lorenzo in for Bellanova.
Let's not forget that just because Napoli have had a tough season with multiple managers, Di Lorenzo is still very reliable, consistent and experienced. Starting Bellanova over him would be a huge risk in my opinion.
Di Lorenzo won Euro's with Italy, and Serie A last year, let's not rule out his rise to Serie A and his consistency and stamina.
@@astanco1574 yea
We are far better in a 4-3-3 with the Inter back 4 starting. Di Marco can still go high with us having that Inter back 3 to sit. Chiesa Retegui Orsolini front 3.
If I had to do 4-3-3 I would:
Donnarumma
Bellanova-Acerbi-Bastoni-Dimarco
Barella-Jorginho-Pellegrini
Gnonto-Retegui-Chiesa
If I had to play 3-5-2:
Donnarumma
Darmian-Acerbi-Bastoni
Bellanova-Barella-Jorginho-Pellegrini-Dimarco
Retegui-Chiesa
Forza IFTV 🫡👊🏿
We should play a 3-5-2:
Donna
Darmian Acerbi Bastoni
Bellanova Barella Jorginho Pellegrini Dimarco
Scamacca/Retegui Chiesa
Spalletti needs to order Donna to not play with the ball anymore. He is the superior goal stopper. Inter trio in back will fix our defensive issues, Locatelli is an amazing ball distributor and our main midfield sub, Jorginho is the general but no more penalties please, Barella our playermaker, Pellegrini is red hot, Dimarco and Bellanova dominating the wings, Chiesa our star play who can play either wing and hopefully adjust to this new formation, and Retegui with an amazing start to his Azzurri career but to me Scamaaca offers us more if he can play determined, he is similar to Balotelli and can pull something out of nothing. Pellegrini is great at free kicks and corners, and Retegui or Scammaca can bang in penalties (F Jorginho!).
Forza Azzurri!!!!!
Ciao Marco and guests Dan Juve fan from England I fancy France or Germany to win Euros Who do u think will be Liverpool manager for next season? Zidane is rumoured to be interested in Liverpool job also Juve should consider cashing in on Soule

No Cambiaso??
As a USMNT fan, if Italy has a hard time breaking down a low block and doesn't have a true 10 then id stay away from switching to a 4-3-3. I come to you with tears in my eyes, for the sake of the Italian national team please do not follow the Berhalter ball way of setting your team up😢
Other than being a goalscorer how good is Retegui?
not at all, but damn he can finish if he gets the ball in or near the box
@@astanco1574 my point

just because Inter reached CL final dosn't mean that Darmian, Acerbi and Bastoni are a good defense... They conceded 3 from Benfica... I think that bastoni is a quality player Darmian can do the job and Acerbi is bad but gets covered by others so he ends up looking like he can do the job... De Vrij since Acerbi was out stepped in and Inter looked better than what they did with Acerbi
They conceided 3 to Benfica with a different back line, no Darmian or Bastoni and Acerbi was not playing in the center. The rest of the team were all backup players too. Did you even look up to see who was playing, apparently not. Inter have only allowed 14 goals in Serie A all season, the Inter back 3 is quite possibly our best defense going into the Euros.

442 bastoni lb di marco lm
BS, Tonali is a better player than Jorginho. It's down to his age and the physicality that Tonali brings. He also has a great engine and can run for a full 90 minutes. He can score by making late runs into the box and also a good passer of the ball.
Why can’t we give players like calafiori, Fabian, pafundi, casadei a chance in the first time??? Other nations playing 17 years olds and it’s paying off why are we always scared to field youngsters, calafiori is miles ahead of Darmian, acerbi 💀💀💀
52:59 Lmao what ??? Tonali definitely makes this team. Jorginho is on his last legs and Tonali was Newcastle's best player before getting suspended. He is playing for a top team in the best league in the world. Newcastle are struggling because they dont have him. Tonali is an absolute unit and a workhorse.
I agree. He will take over the regista role after jorginho and Tonali provided the Vision and determination. He will be missed for this tournament.

i hate to burst your bubble here guys but in italy the general perspective of italians abroad(mostly in the USA) is that they are not italian but are effectively only pretending to be italian. and to certain point all of the italian people think this too. to give example here: how someone can claim to be italian when their great great granparents emmigrate to USA in 1920 is completely absurd.
this entire trip was nothing more than a PR exercise designed to create a "home nation" feeling for the next world cup. when that world cup is over then my guess is that it will another 20 years before the azzurri return to the USA 🤷♂
and for marco to say that players should have gave their shirts to the fans....come on! they dont do this even in italy
Not totally true. There’s still alotta 1st-2nd generation here. Who have immediate family in Italy and still correspond with regularly. And those 1st generations born in 70s-80s also married partners who were also 1st-2nd generations. Had children in 2000s that are 100% Italian-American. Of course living there and here is different. They understand that too, and of course consider us Italian.

I agree. This foolish "Croatia are old" narrative has to stop.

Antonio: thank you for being the voice of reason yet again, regarding Zaniolo. Yes he’s not getting minutes at Aston Villa (Italian players traditionally don’t in PL), yes he tends to hold the ball for too long, yes he’s not an in form player at the moment. But he’s big, strong, can dribble, create, has a bullet shot, can score, creates space. Absolutely bonkers that some people are not seeing this. Antonio, remind these guys in the summer how they trashed Nico when he tears through opposition.
Zaniolo is crap
@@cianogwho do you bring in his place?
Zaniolo was never a starter so it doesn't matter.
Pellegrini will start with Chiesa. The width on the right will come from the wing bank.
I prefer Gnonto, Orsolini over zaniolo.
If you prefer Orsolini or Gnonto then there’s nothing to talk about. There’s a reason Mancini and Spalletti both went on record saying Zaniolo and Chiesa were Italy’s future. But you’re right, maybe Orsolini is our Foden lol.
@@roccosage8508 Being better than Zaniolo doesn't make you "Foden" Just better than a very mid player
Mike, you’re hard to listen to
