Even if it happens 3 times in a row, Serie A will still be kilometers behind the Premier League in terms of organization, popularity, finances, and therefore quality. The point is not in the victory itself, but in the exploitation of the victory. Just take a look at the Soviet Union: They won World War II, but a few decades later they became one of the most hated, rigid, and dysfunctional "empires" that eventually collapsed. The Americans won the Cold War in style and imposed their language, music, movies, fashion, technology, politics, dollar and finally the dreams that everyone else will dream. It's similar with England, especially in football. Their national team may not win anything for the next 100 years, but kids will still root for their clubs and follow their football.
Really good episode. Serie A needs a complete overhaul, the stadiums are awful, most of the owners are terrible. I say this from a place of love, i want Serie A to get back to the league that i remember at the very top of european football.
Completely agree. And instead they make useless campaigns like "Piracy is killing football", while rewarding players with red cards for minor swearing like "F**k off" or for ironically applauding referees. Idiocracy at its worst. Instead of throwing money at stupid campaigns, they could at least make an official Serie A fantasy game. It's just one of ways (and a very cheap one) to raise the league's popularity. In terms of organisation and marketing, they are decades behind England and Premier League, unfortunately. That's why we need more epsodes like this one.
I remember as a young Real Madrid fan from the 1990s to 2000s that every time we got matched up with AC Milan, Juventus, or Inter Milan, I would shiver a little bit because of how much quality was in that league. We always made a good account of ourselves and we won most of the games, but for the most part, we would struggle. I do not understand how such a beautiful country filled with so many storied clubs with some of the richest footballing history ever cannot be successful as a league. It baffles me.
@@Warriors49ers Italy’s 3 biggest clubs ( Juventus, Milan & Inter) and there isn’t at least 2 Italian strikers competing to lead the azzuri attack. A disgrace to be honest!

This is really true, comparing Serie A and Premier League's marketing and accessibility in Australia. Last season I had Optus Sport and Kayo. Optus Sport feels like it exists for premier league > 5 different lengths you can watch a game > news > analysis > cheap (can even get it for free with your phone plan). Kayo on the other hand seem as if they're trying to make Serie A hard to watch > 1 length you can watch: full, maybe sometimes they would upload a highlights if they could be bothered > no news > no analysis > not cheap. Until they can resolve poor decisions like this people will continue to decide Brentford are their team instead of Milan

Never mentioned Scamacca or Retegui. Scamacca plays for the best team of those 3, also works the least, which is why he wasn't called up despite his goal scoring record. Quite sure it'll be Raspa or Retegui as #1 for now. @@Warriors49ers

What a great interview with Adriano. I live in Australia and the Serie A coverage is hopeless, you have to go onto UA-cam for any information regarding your team and it’s very hard work. We have Bein sport that only shows the full matches and when the final whistle blows, the coverage stops. We need coverage like Optus Sport does with the Premier League with heaps of news and highlights packages available. Now wonder everyone knows what’s going on in England. And I’m so glad that Adriano said that the level of football is as good in Italy as it is in England because I’ve always felt that, the only difference is the English know how to sell their game due to heaps of investment they have in their game. The game in Italy cannot compete unfortunately, but I will always support it. I just enjoy Italian Calcio.

King Adriano, as an italo-aussie, it’s soo true. Accessibility to serie a is horrendous. The broadcast experience is minimal! We’re restricted to surfing YT for podcasts and content such as this (not that there’s anything wrong with this!). The unique issue we have with football in Australia though, which may be similar to the states, is the fact that other sports also take any opportunity to suffocate the market from football in general.
Who were the great strikers last time we won the Euros? Who? The negativity is the worst. The National team is about dreaming an believing. I’ll ride with this team. I always will.
I agree with you. First of all there are some very good players out there. Chiesa, Barella, to name a couple. Second of all, real Italy fans know that for this federation it’s not about always having the best team on paper. Italy has a habit of playing above their ability. They’ll be solid in defense and midfield, hopefully an attacking player gets hot.
Italy needs to win again to make up for failure of qualifying for WC 22 and losing to N.Macedonia in playoffs. Chiesa is key. He is this generation’s Robi Biaggo.
what Adriano mentioned about India is so relevant. I watched him present on Sony Ten Network ... There's a ton of people here who would like to switch from watching cricket.. and the unfortunate aspect is very few know Serie A because it is not telecast here on TV - only accessible through Fibre / Online - having been an avid Serie A follower for the past 10 years at least, I can say that Serie A, if marketed properly here, can bring so much additional viewership and investment.
If we they want to be competitive Spaletti should utilize a 3-5-2. Reason being is Inter is obviously Serie A’s best club, and the Azzurri will have a large number of Inter players, so they’ll be comfortable with each other in that system. Along with that, their most dangerous attacker Chiesa is playing in the same system at Juventus. It makes the most sense.
The main problem with Serie A in the global market is their production value. This is something that is brought up the most from all the new fans of the game that have no connection to Italy. The first thing which can’t be immediately fixed is the stadiums. You watch a EPL or German match the fans are right there on the screen, there are only a handful of stadiums in Italy where this is remotely possible. The 2nd is the crowd, they don’t mix up the crowd and it’s dead silence on the TV screen so it makes the league look boring. If you watch a CL match with their production you can hear the crowd and their chants and singing, along with more shots of the atmosphere in the stadium.
Forza IFTV! Loved this guest. Especially that marketing discussion. Even as a La Liga and Serie A watcher, i get annoyed that these leagues didn't put in their own marketing work in time and they let the PL get such a stronghold to the point where bottom table clashes in the PL get more coverage than top table clashes in other leagues. Which is no shade to the PL coz they put in the work while other leagues lacked. La Liga had a chance in the early 2000s and Serie A had a chance in the 90s when both were on top but they fumbled the bag. Even despite the language barriers for example there was so much more that could have been done that leagues have only started doing now recently but the financial gap is already too big its almost too little too late basically. Keep up the great work guys 👊🏿💜
"Julien Laurens" is right, Lega Serie A need to get their act together or the Premier League's dominance will be a permanent thing like NBA in basketball.. Hopefully it's not too late..
Awesome interview, lots of insight on the state of Serie A in the futbol world. I'm an AC Milan fan and my dad is a Lazio fan, I follow Serie A thanks to him but otherwise I probably would've never supported the rossoneri, I live in Canada and here most people support EPL and MLS teams.
I think having a tougher group will have Italy Battle ready .Good show let the others underestimate italy at their own demise. Forza Italia Back to back let's go 🇮🇹
Greetings from Singapore! Forza Roma! Totti and De Rossi were the 2 players that made me love Roma. I also liked the fact that the atmosphere Olimpico is intimidating for opposition as well as the Derby della Capitale.
Wow great interview. I can relate to Marco. I was born in Italy immigrated to the US with my parents at a young age. Support Napoli but all Seria A teams in European competitions. My cousins in Italy would never support a Seria A team that they do not support against a premier, La Liga team etc ..
so marco says real went through because they had vini psg because mbappe and inter didnt because they dont 😂😂 but all year the clown kept hyping lautato being world classs 😂😂 see the difference scoring in itsly and europe? lautaro aint world class he failed world cup and failed again this champions league
I was at the meadowlands in 05 when we also played Ecuador. The crowd was about 50/50 but this was back when very few people followed the sport and pre 06 World Cup victory which got a lot of Italian Americans who never watched one kick of the sport before into it so I expect the crowd will be huge
@@Raynax235Foden is doing that on a loaded Man City squad. Chiesa is a raw athlete and shows the ability to rise in big matches. Chiesa was one of the standout players of the previous Euro
Yes, although I would say we're outsiders, in the second tier with the likes of Belgium, Croatia, Holland. On current form, France, Portugal, Spain and England are the strongest teams, with the most dangerous attacks. We are strong in the midfield and goalkeeper departments, and I am more positive about our central defenders than I have been in a long time, with Buongiorno looking like a classic Italian stopper of yesteryear, while Bastoni is improving all of the time. That said, I am disappointed Calafiori wasn't called up - he's been excellent for Bologna and a real find at CB. The attack is a huge concern. We still don't have a strong number 9, while most of our first choice wide attackers are either out of form, not good enough or injured, and how Zaniolo managed to get selected is beyond me, his attitude and performances (if you can call them that) have been awful.
@@Warriors49ersI find him an infuriating player. He has the technical quality and physicality to be a great striker, one of the best in the World. Sadly, he doesn't push himself enough. There are so many times where he looks disinterested, is passive, and gives the impression his team is playing with 10 men. Moyes, Gasparini and Spalletti have all aired their frustrations with him. I sincerely hope I'm proven wrong, but I see him being yet another one of our talented (Cassano, Balotelli) players who gets nowhere near (only 30%) to reaching their full potential, and instead only show us occasional glimpses of just what might have been.
No they cannot! Berardi out long enough and no strikers a firing! Scamacca and Kean are lousy and Immobile has goal dysfunction needing viagara maybe??
Scamacca has scored 3 in a row against the best team in Portugal. He just needs to score a few more before Serie A ends, and he will prolly start. He is not a star but I rather have him than Immobile 2020 when we won it. Scamacca is basically like a Balotelli light and just needs a kick in the a$$ by Spalleti.
I am Generation X and see all these youths as narcissistic than Scamacca? I bet he stares at himself in the mirror at all those freakish outlandish tattoos of his during his free time. When he scores he even does a Balotelli statue pose of himself. He is not a grinder and rarely goes back to help. I gave him all the faith in the world but saw his heartless performance at the Hammers and gave up than.@@Warriors49ers
Watched Italian football for 35 yrs. Serie A will not over take the PL because the “product” is sub standard. The players, stadiums, atmosphere and type of football are mid tier. Serie A is behind Spain and probably Germany now as well.

Top show
Guys, o my god, you can't put the image of BONUCCI, (one of the worst person ever 😮). Cmon 😢
I am 100000% agree with that guy! He's talking 200% like me! Man, why are we so few to have the same thoughts on those things???
No chance
Remember that Bellanova also played in Inter last year, so probably knows a bit hot to fit in with Acerbi, Bastoni, Darmian, Dimarco
As a fellow Australian Italian who loves calcio and the italian national team, this interview was amazing
Thank you
Raspadori will be big in the euro
Love Giacomo. If he were 3-4” taller, he’d be elite
Italy will reach the finals. Get ready for 2026 because this time we will be in
Ciau Cumpar Sicilia Bedda 🫡🫶
Its a shame how serie a and la liga are slowly getting eaten up by the prem, and this guy is right its never going back
Nah they manage wrong all that money
Watch Chelsea and united… and in the previous years arsenal too
21:59 Di Lorenzo is simply the most consistent Italian in last 5-6 years.
Bingo! DiLorenzo should play. I think Spalletti trusts him infinitely
Anyone knows which hotel Italy team is staying in new jersey
Will be difficult to replicate but if we get out of group stage watch out. 🤞
No pressure = winning the cup
What would be y'all combined 11 between the England and Italy squads?
Donnaruma/Vicario, Bastoni, Chiesa and maybe Barella
@@miko901 everyone else from england?
@@miko901 No way Chiesa gets in that team , hes been poor. Foden has 25 G/A
@@Raynax235Foden is doing that on a loaded Man City squad. Chiesa is a raw athlete and shows the ability to rise in big matches. Chiesa was one of the standout players of the previous Euro
@@miked2075 yes Euros was 2020 , it's now 2024. I follow juventus. Chiesa over Foden is mental rn. But udogie gets into the combined 11
Scamacca should start #9, he wasn't called up this time prolly to try and motivate him, but if he continues scoring, he will start imo.
Who is this guy ! 🤔
The way you guys pronounce Milan hurts my ears
What's wrong with it?
I Hope yes
Italy is not gonna qualify the group forget about the cup.
Italy Anthem, mid as hell...
