Germanys first eleven is just insane. bro i wouldnt say they just lost tactically, they looked slower and weaker in 50/50s, looked timid, scared to play, nervous on the ball, absolutely not dominating. While other team was playing with full dominance, control, confidence, toni kroos only made one displaced pass!!
Their tactic resulted in a far more direct Germany that was difficult to counterattack. Both weaknesses, which destroyed Germany in the past, have been addressed, at least against Scotland.
I feel like Germany is title contender number 1. France relies on the speed of it’s attack, but as we’ve seen a lot during the Champions League and friendlies, that if the defense knows what it’s doing the offensive is effectively switched off. England has a just as good team as Germany on paper, but tends to fall off in big matches and don’t have a world class coach on the sideline.
I think its still too early to determine if Germany are title contenders let alone winners, but this match has shown that Germany has improved greatly compared to previous performances in other tournaments, if Germany keeps up this dominating performance throughout the group stage they may very well go deep into the tournament.
Besides Bellingham and maybe Kane I don’t see English players being clearly better than their German counterparts. I say „maybe Kane“ because Havertz brings another dimension to the striker position and is clearly a world class player himself, just not a traditional striker. The defence of England as a whole is more robust and they are probably better able to soak up pressure, it’s really not Germanys kind of game.
As good as germany? No. Germany got 23 CL Players in its squad who are in topform right now. This amount is unbeatable. There is not one team who is able to compete with that.
Musiala is really a breakout turnament away from becoming a prelenial ballon d'Or contender. Its really nuances in decision making. Somewhat reminisccent of Vini in a sense that his raw talent is otherwordly but he seems to go for the more complicated option too often. When he is rolling he is virtually unstoppable with the ball at his feet.
I think considering the seasons they both played, Wirtz has a better shot at it. He was one of the main springs behind Leverkusens unbeaten season, whilst Musiala had a lot of mediocre to weak games, plus he was injured for a few.
Kroos and Müller are also a great pairing. Either way you can tell this team finally has the all important Chemistry factor back again with a high morale and energy. A joy to watch again. I've missed them dearly for a decade now.
To me, it looked like Scotland's defense was terrified of balls over the top due to the early Wirtz chance and never really recovered. They needed to play a much more aggressive line so it allows the midfield and Che to press Kroos as he will just destroy you if you give him all the time in the world. If you want to play high you have to aggressively press incredible ball players like Kroos else he will always find space in behind.
Constantly binding Kroos requries up to 3 players and other way to teams like p with ronaldo or a with messi, this will give other world class German players much more space. Many countries have golden generations from time to time, luckily Kroos is leaving soon

The fact that Kroos has the opportunity to play in a similar position as in Madrid because he has the wizards Wirtz and Musiala in front of him is very beneficial to the whole team. Kimmich is not an ordinary right back either, having led Munich’s midfield for the past couple of years. They look pretty dangerous offensively. The Defense must still find their strides though, a high-pressing team will probably expose vulnerabilities in the back.

this game reminded of the match against brazil in brazil - germany exactly knew how they can defeat their opponent. And it looked so easy. The only difference was a way better organized scottish defense :D Great analysis
Excellent vid as always! Another example of 3 at the back + wing backs dominating a team with a stagnant low block of 4 in defense... Also, imagine if England played like this instead, with Trippier in the Kroos role and Foden, Bellingham and Saka in between the lines!
Can't forget that Germany can fully transition with their substitutes. Their switches mostly consist of fast wingers instead of players like Wirtz and Musiala that shine in tight spaces. With Führich, Sané and Füllkrug they can switch to a speed-centric offense that tries to overload the opposition with deep runs and crosses. That is actually true for most positions. Almost no substitutes plays the same way as the first choice.
Nagelsmanns greatest strenght is how adaptable he is and that he learns from his mistakes. And this capabilities will be crucial in a tournament like this. Plus the homeadvantage is also important
As a German: the scottish are the nicest fans I have ever met. Despite drinking insane amounts of beer, the spirit was one of friendship and celebration.
the combination of kroos, nagelsmann, musiala, gündogan, wirtz, havertz and rüdiger could win us the euros. nagelsmann and kroos can do a lot of strategic plays adapting to whoever we ll face. i don t think we will necessarily win it, but i do hope we ll have some fantastic and interesting games.
I know for sure every team has different type of players but I just know that more managers are going to copy this tactics off of Nagelsmann because of how effective it seems against team that used that formation in defence.
To all English speaking fans: Kroos' name is not pronounced like cruise. Our double-O is long and not sounding like a U-sound as it does in English. You don't really have a word with this O-sound as far as I'm aware, but it's more like the o in no just longer and without the U-sound at the end. :)
Germany should win it with home advantage. They look very similar in setup to the Argentina side that won the world cup. Havertz playing very similar to Julian Alvarez, constantly stretching the CB partnership and not playing with his back to goal. Musiala looked as effective as Messi in terms of defeating defensive pressure and creating space. Wirtz/Gundogan given attacking freedom in similar ways to Mac Allister/Di Maria. With Kroos/Andrich play making like Enzo/RdP.

That has always been my impression of football fans. This video however, was great. Very interesting analysis. Peaked my interest in the sport a little
Good analysis - you missed the fact that a substantial part of Scotland's problem was the fact that the Germans pressed us very high up the pitch, very fast, very effectively... as a result, Scotland were pressurised in pushing the ball around in their own half, unable to play up the park, and often ended up hoofing it upfield were an isolated Adams who had no chance... giving the ball straight back to Germany... it's why the game seemed to be played almost exclusively in Scotland's half of the pitch
Personally I noticed how late the scottish were to pressure the back line, and how we could just use Kroos in the back to build up and look for gaps, especially using long balls that attack the gaps between the back 3. I felt like if scotland were to either stick to the low block, or stick to a full press they would've had way better chances to get a foot in the game rather than to just wait and be punished for mistakes. Thoughts?
If your CF can only cover one player and the choice is between Kroos, Tah and Rüdiger, it's a no-brainer to take Kroos out of the game and let one of the CBs have the ball. Scotland switched system after 30mins and Germany found it much harder after that until the red card. Really though, you have to press Germany to give them serious trouble; sit back like the Scots and there is enough quality in the team that they will just pick you apart. Analysis of the first half of the recent Greece friendly is the best tutorial for how better teams will beat Germany later in the tournament.

Keep the good work…so many tactical lessons from Euro 2024 already
kroos was amazing
Very nice presentation, looking forward to more analyses!
What an amazing video for someone like me, who doesnt know a lot about football but absolutley appreciates tactics.
Thanks a lot!
this game reminded of the match against brazil in brazil - germany exactly knew how they can defeat their opponent. And it looked so easy. The only difference was a way better organized scottish defense :D
Great analysis
Good old Toni Cruise
Rüdiger and Kroos "Boatenged" so well. These long balls are so hard to defend against
Excellent vid as always! Another example of 3 at the back + wing backs dominating a team with a stagnant low block of 4 in defense... Also, imagine if England played like this instead, with Trippier in the Kroos role and Foden, Bellingham and Saka in between the lines!
Dat hij nog weet adem te halen , is knap en blijkbaar mogelijk. Wat en praat machine met en leuke Tool
yes meta OfCourse. I personally would be delighted to see ur videos the whole euros.
great video, would love to see one like this every single day during the EURO24
Excellent analysis, key has been that the offense players also did a great job defending.
❤ want to see more of these analysis of big games
As a German: the scottish are the nicest fans I have ever met. Despite drinking insane amounts of beer, the spirit was one of friendship and celebration.
the combination of kroos, nagelsmann, musiala, gündogan, wirtz, havertz and rüdiger could win us the euros. nagelsmann and kroos can do a lot of strategic plays adapting to whoever we ll face. i don t think we will necessarily win it, but i do hope we ll have some fantastic and interesting games.
Very well made Comparison! I hope Scots will come to next round... and btw Toni is called "Kros" not "Krus" ;-)
Good thing Tom Cruise is back in Germanys squad
Much love for the Scotish. Great fans, so fair, great atmosphere and no bad blood. I guess our rivalry with england helps. Wish you guys the best!
Could you make an analysis about Brighton's Fabian Hurzeler
great video, amazing analytics and explanation - thank you :^)
How bro doesn't even want to try to pronounce Mittelstädt 😂😂 but I get it 😂
Yeah no chance 😂
@@FootballMeta You can say "middle stead". Just middle and stead like instead without in
Awesome video as always! Would you also do a “Scotland could have done this better” type of video? Thanks in advance.
"Young raw talent" - Havertz has already decided a Championsleague Final!
amazing analysis, kross is different athlete! not error pass....kkkkkk
I was telling my dad about this on the phone after the game and he had no idea what I was talking about, should I become a manager?😂
I know for sure every team has different type of players but I just know that more managers are going to copy this tactics off of Nagelsmann because of how effective it seems against team that used that formation in defence.
Kroos played in the Libero position between and behind the center defenders most of the second half.
To all English speaking fans: Kroos' name is not pronounced like cruise. Our double-O is long and not sounding like a U-sound as it does in English. You don't really have a word with this O-sound as far as I'm aware, but it's more like the o in no just longer and without the U-sound at the end. :)
So like kroohhhss?
Sometimes I hear commentators say "Cross"
@@bread3613 yes, basically. That's a pretty good way of putting it
@@resathe6760 ok, I see. Thanks for the correction
The Empire strikes back and Obi Wan Kroos brought balance to the Force!
No Scotland no party.
Please dont say "Cruise"
Nice that your a covering the euros
Great Video! Learned very much! Keep up! Btw Kroos is not pronounced like "Cruise", the double O in German is pronounced like a long O. :)
Thank´s for your analytics. The most important thing is to create a harmonic and peaceful football party called EM 2024. This is aspect is often underestimated. The scots have such a great fan-community. These chants are creating fantastic atmosphere . Thank you. Greetings from Germany ... 🤟🤟🤟🤟
There goes my dream of a McTominay hattrick against Germany 😂
some colorful lines, a few circles around the players, booooooom, youre an expert
They will be surely finalist of this Euro.
what software are you using? it looks really good
Love how he avoided to pronounce Mittelstädt all Video Long
This is a damn good tactical analysis.
German team working as a unite.
I would request you to make videos of lower ranked teams like India and study where they actually lack.
I never got into football because I feel like most footballl fans don't actually think about the sport itself but just want to wage wars against other football clubs on a personal level.. That has always been my impression of football fans. This video however, was great. Very interesting analysis. Peaked my interest in the sport a little
Was the software made by yourself? It looks so handful and good-looking bro.
After I have seen England today, I am absolutely not afraid to play them! ^^
Great content. Thank you
Toni Cruise 😂
Love your analysis and the quality of your videos, what software you use for that tactical board?
Custom made
Wirtz ispronounced like „Veards“ starting like veal ending as in birds … vea rds! You’re welcome
It's much easier to mention when Kroos is not a key player for his team. Because then you never have to say it.
Yes with stats showing 73% ball possession😮
Analysis of the first half of the recent Greece friendly is the best tutorial for how better teams will beat Germany later in the tournament.
when even a bought ref only manages to make germany end the game in a draw you know you have a dangerous german national team again
Love to watch a video like this as a german. The last tournaments you know... 😅
Really nice analysis. Please continue.
But when you pronounce Wirtz’s name just think: veerts.
what type of online board are u using in the video? i would love to try it out.
PLS learn the prononunciation of Kroos. He is a worldcup and championsleague winner. Even the freaking english commentator get his name somehow right.
Wirtz is actually the key man of this German squad
Your honestly my favorite youtuber your analysis in every video is absolutely incredible ive just left school and id love to do this as a job cause i find this stuff really interesting do you have any tips or words of advice for me if i did do someone like this like you do?
😮😮😮😅😅
in other words "Adams only run for the cameras there really wasn't anything to call a "press" 😂😂
They can´t let Kroos with so much space, biggest mistake Scotland commit, they tried to defend in a low dense block and forgot Kroos completely.
Rüdiger identifies himsell as scottish for a moment. Thats true Diversity 🎉
Essentially you have to play against us like Bergamo did against Leverkusen in the Euro League Final. Then you only need to go 1 on 1 against Neuer/Ter Stegen. 😂
