For me the best freeski film of the 2023 year ! Sam Favret is a one of the most esthetic rider on the world and became more and more professionnal since his "Backyard Project". Congratulations and welcome to BC team.
Another masterpiece in skiing, videography, and storytelling. The only thing that was a bit confusing was following the sequences of Sam vs. Nikolai as they discussed the climbs and ski descents; ended up being a very enjoyable mashup of awesome skiing in Lyngen!
That last line skiing near the cliff edge was mind bending!!!

I rarely comment on any videos, but this film was just breathtaking and absolutely amazing!! I couldn't hold myself together while watching this and now I'm walking around sending it to everyone I know lol

what a great collaboration! Two crazy ski minds joining forces and explore the beauty of skiing in Norway! Compliments to the film team...amazing how you captured the moment, nature, conditions!
I like the film, but I just gotta say, I really missed those storytelling elements of Niko's videos. I love when the process of getting to the line is shown, the struggles are shown, the story of the day is shown. It makes it so much more real and it enables to connect with it just that much more. At least for me. Here I was shown a bunch of beautiful lines in a beuatiful scenery with amazingly good skiers. But what director wanted to say with this movie remains lost on me. But still, the best 30 minutes of the day anyway=)
Thanks for your feedback and glad that you enjoyed the movie. The idea with this project was to let Niko and Sam, let Max the movie director tells their story while they focus on exploration and performance. Max takes on their adventure is sure different from what you seen on Niko's channel, but it was also part of the plan ;)
Yeah - and the decision to include the guys talking to each other, but blasting the music way too loud over them ?

I personally think the director was showing that skiing can be an art if portrayed with the correct cinematography.

Amazing movie, beautiful shots and editing and incredible skiing on some seriously impressive terrain. I've been snowboarding for around 20 years now, slowly gaining more skill and confidence but have never really ventured outside the resorts or into any terrain as steep and technical as what Nikolai and Sam ski in this movie. Watching Nikolai's channel for a while, and now this movie is really inspiring me to get out there and push myself to try bigger and more challenging things. Thanks for creating great content!
Nikolai, thank you for your storytelling! My partner and I, who have been hitting the backcountry for the better part of 30 years, love your videos. We're "over the hill" and will never ski the extreme, but we always find solitude and face shots in our little corner of the world. Your documented backcountry journeys always resonate with us.
