Happy feast of St. Francis! I hope you celebrate with your fraternity... St. Francis is also Italy's patron saint, so we are spiritually linked! Paryers for you and your mission!
AMEN. Thank you for another inspirational video. While it is scary at times when we look at the world at large, there is so much beauty amongst it that gets lost. I am more than happy to evangelise the Franciscan cause, and St Francis. May the peace of God and St Francis keep us all grounded and connected to the true meaning of his teaching.
I enjoyed that. I need to catch up on the channel. But when I saw the desert scenery, I had to watch. I'm from AZ and have lived here in the desert most of my life. I love this time of the year. My family travels to Mexico annually to celebrate the feast of St Francis. I remember as a child waking up extra early to get ready. I loved it. It was a religious journey we took. As part of this journey, we learned to be patient, to understand, to be courteous, to be humble, to look forward never look back and so many others things. This was passed down from generation to generation. However, last year my nephew fell ill to cancer. We couldn't leave him, so we skipped Mexico. In November, he lost the battle. This year it's my brother. He's been in and out of the hospital. We agreed he shouldn't travel. So again we skipped Mexico. I look forward to next year. Happy Feast of Saint Francis 🙏🏽 Tfs ✌🏽
Blessed Feast of St. Francis! I spent some time in a St. Francis Garden today. It's a lovely little spot in our little downtown, with Stations of the Cross and Christian meditations. And it's on the property of the oldest Episcopal church here. At least we share those devotions. May we be one!
A+ chapel tour. I love the way you film the inside of buildings to show us. You just keep getting at them. I love what Francisans are supposed to stand for. It can be hard to feel connected when you feel different but as the Scriptures say "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus" Gal 3:28 (Also I apologise for using the King James version here. It's the only Bible I have.)
Right after I retired a few years ago, I spent two days in a personal retreat at this Franciscan Center. I did this to work on a vision of my life after retirement. A beautiful place and a perfect setting for what I needed to do.
GREAT ST Fraciscan retreat & teachers. Thank you for your mission for us in the world. God has been with GOD FOR OUR WORLD. HOPE YOUNG PEOPLE JOIN YOUR ST FRANCISCAN. PRAISE GOD FOREVER.
Happy Feast Day. Thanks for the reflections on Why be Franciscan. You gave us a great retreat, now we need to pray for how God wants us to renew the church or as you told us. Just start and let God do the adjusting as we go along..
"In which God is present in you, in me, in creation, in the good and the bad. God is there with us." Thank you for those words and this video Father! I need to load this video to my phone so I can just bust it out when I am in the need of explaining my faith/beliefs to people and in this video, you have described my feelings and beliefs exactly! I am so thankful and blessed to have 'stumbled' upon your videos and channel recently! Thank you THANK YOU!
Indeed, it can be easy to lose sight of the forest through the trees. Praise be to Our Merciful God for providing to us so many wonderful maps through the wilderness to point us back to the road that leads to Home. Amen.
Franciscan Friers made a difference, development and renewal too in our parish at Thalangama south Sri Lanka, only church dedicated to St John Dal Baston, an Italian Franciscan Frier. Greetings from Colombo Sri Lanka with christian love to all the people on earth! Glory to God in the highest and peace to all the people on earth!😇🌹🌹🌹
I liked that video, especially the opening message about an incarnation view of the world. I can imagine Goldilocks saying this one is too spiritual, and this one is too material, but this one (which happens to be the Church established by Christ almost 2000 years ago) is just right!
I have only recently learned about this 'Breaking in the Habit' UA-cam channel. I will say that this particular video is, in my humble opinion, the best one that I've seen so far. The call for us (me) to become a peacemaker is a challenge to say the least.
Recently a pioneer of our church Franciscan father Gerad Garth passed away in Italy. He was a very holy man of God who worked tirelessly to develop our church ,during a long period.May his soul rest in peace! St. John Dal Boston's church Is supposed to be the only church dedicated to him, and now to Fr. Garth too in my opinion! The peace of Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God to all! 🌹🌹🌹
You comments are very good, accurate, right on genuine Franciscan take on who St Francis is and his devotion to the Eucharist, Christ in the incarnation and god’s role in creation and francis’ loyalty to the Church. As an old, old fart catholic I have been following your comments for hints of variations, extensions, gratuitous takes on Franciscan spirituality. Today’s mention of “ incarnational world. View” etc really shows rather sophisticated understanding. I do not want you to get too prideful. I can see you have good spiritual direction and instructors. Us old guys have been watching very carefully.
gorgerous scenary your so blessed to experience this its amazing your message I been thinking of this exactly on how to connect all these friends I have met lately with different faiths if the incarnation message is preached it would connect everyone with a relatable understanding and the truth for how can we say the creations of the world are astounding but then not recognise the Creator of it? I been looking at these things lately as I enjoy the wind blow the fall leaves or the clouds hovering over the hills and saying to the hills isn't our creator amazing? It is the Spirit so thank you that you say it right here thank you Brother for just promoting how to go about uniting differences and bringing others back to the true way of joy and peace thru Christ Jesus and the St Francis way woohoo lol
The Latin, Syro-Malabar, Maronite and Mozarabic need to restore their Liturgies at a minimum. Today's worship in most parts of the Catholic Church is Protestant at best and bad entertainment at its worst.
Thomas Carney yep that was the intention of the freemasons...all documented in the Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita...Satan entered the Church just prior to Vatican 2
@@Rich.- I hate to say this, because it seems Protestant: the Laity need to turn off the money. The bishops have been living high off the hog for far too long.
How possible or not possible is it for a person in diocesan formation ....or already formed priest to shift to missionary. You can as well explain in the context of franciscan.
Sorry about my earlier comment. If your apostolate wins souls for Christ and increases devotions to the Blessed Mother and other saints, than what could be bad? I prefer a more traditional form of the mass and architecture. My earlier comments were snarky and immature.
If you have specific questions, why not go to a local parish and ask a friar in person (face to face)? IMHO, it's much better to have dialogue in person than over the internet. I too have had questions and went directly to the source and have spoken to fathers who are Jesuits,Dominicans,Orthodox, and a Capuchin friar at the local Franciscan National Shrine where I live. Give it a try. Peace
A Brotherhood of Franciscans in LA was running low on funds, so they decided to remedy this problem by selling flowers. They went down to Hollywood and set up in front of the filming of The Greatest Showman. Because they were in the way of the crew, security tried to get them to leave, but the Brothers explained their situation to plead for them to stay. Hearing the commotion in front of the set, the star of the movie himself came out, talked with the men, and decided to donate some money if they agreed to go, which they did. This shows that only Hugh can prevent florist Friars.
To be fair, there is not much of a “life of the church” for people to connect to. I think this is very easy for religious to miss because you live in some kind of formalized, institutional Catholicism 24/7. I on the other hand have to create every facet of our family’s catholic life from the ground up. I can bring my kids to Mass but the truth is that we’re not really welcome in the Church, it’s not like our home, it’s more like an impersonal trip to a McDonalds drive through window. If you want to lay down your life and live humbly, why not take care of children? That’s a community of humility. Perhaps knowing your place actually is the humble path you’re missing? I’m thinking out loud here.
