    He clearly hears the score in a different way than everybody, even most trained musicians. Absolutely every note is an expressive opportunity for him, and so the piece comes alive like never before.

    I believe he might be the most important musician living right now. The way he reaches youth and resurrects these compositions is completely astonishing. People will be talking about him 100 years from now.

    I heard a MASSIVE difference in their playing after he spoke to them about nervousness. Their sound just opened up and was so much fuller. That part of the movement is NOT easy to keep a sense of movement before the climax, but they pulled it off beautifully.

    Gustavo Dudamel ha la sensibilità di sentire la partitura in modo diverso anche dai musicisti più esperti. Ogni nota è un'opportunità di espressività per lui, e quindi dona la vita al brano come se fosse la prima volta!

    Why always the 5th?
    I always thought that the 8th was the true 5th and it is never being performed.

      Because of the historical significance. The 8th is too brutal for most people to deal with (and I love both).

      @@hughanthony2001 Perfect way to put it. I feel the same way with Shostakovich's 4th symphony. The emotion is just unbelievably overwhelming for a piece of music.

    I tend to prefer student orchestra performances because they are never routine and the conductor feels obligated to get more deeply involved. The result is almost always more fresh, visceral and meaningful than that of your typical professional ensemble.

    Es ist bemerkenswert das Maestro Dudamel probt mit jungen Musikern. Das sollte alle Dirigenten machen, besonders jüngere . Mit einem Jugendorchester kann man nicht scheinbaren Proben abliefern . Interessant wehre die Orchesterprobe von Dudamel in der vollen Länge zu sehen.

    Aunque desees ser cada instrumento y quieras (exageradamente) expresar todas las frases, eres únicamente el director y debes asumir ese rol y conducir la orquesta más allá de solfear la partitura, hacia los sentimientos que llevaron a escribir todas esas notas. Sigo viendo un payaso muy gracioso.

      @Frank Lopez no le tengo antipatía por ningún motivo (aspecto, nacionalidad, pensamiento, sexualidad, etc.), reconozco que opiniones respetables lo consideran bueno (no hablo de Grammys u otros premios de pacotilla). Sencillamente no encuentro encanto en su hacer. Tampoco pretendí hacer una cruzada en contra de este director.
