Saw it last night and liked it more than Fury Rd (not sure if it’s better though) the narrative elements just worked more for me. I do feel people are going to lose their minds with this film and it’s gonna go well at the Oscars but I guess we’ll see. Career best from Hemsworth, I thought he was one of the better villains we’ve had in recent memory
Just came out of the film, audience please do not expect a Fury Road because this overwhelmed me in so many levels... In the best possible way! The craftsmanship that George put out of his work is a bigger flex than what I believe a Nolan or Tarantino ever did in their works, maybe on par with James Cameron's vision. His world making and practical stunt work is superior and if you love film making, this WILL overwhelm you once you leave the theatre. Sidenote, to those that keep comparing it to Fury Road (which I think is on par with this film for very different reasons), this film did not rely on the score to carry the film and string it from beginning to end, and sometimes you have to appreciate when films just let it play without relying the use of Soundtrack or Score (film makers that uses Hans Zimmer too much is a good example, and I do love Hans Zimmer). Fury Road had more to risk and lose for George whilst this one showcases that he has all the power on the palm of his hand, and he mastered it very well.
Fury Road is an all timer. Best action film of all time, imo. So it made sense it would overperform at The Academy which aren't too keen on action flicks. Furiosa seems like a great movie, but Fury Road it's not. I agree with you 3-5 noms at best.
Jenny Beavan deserves another Best Costumes win for Furiosa, just so we can see another snotty director scowling at her as she ascends the Oscars podium in a leather jacket.
I do think a big part of the reason WF took costumes was how impactful the Namor work was culturally. EVERYONE was talking about his costumes specifically. Absent something like that, it does feel hard to imagine Furiosa coming close to a win as a sequel, based on the images we've seen so far (for those of us who aren't at Cannes lol)
The environments are cool in these newer mad max movies but making Max sit shotgun as a character in these last two movies seems very “now” for movies made for a “modern” audience. These films in my opinion are very different from the Mel Gibson films ; different enough that if these newer movies came out first I don’t believe they would talked about 40 years later. Aside from the environments I believe these newer mad max movies are very very mid.
Very disappointed. Not anywhere close to as good as Fury Road. This movie had absolutely terrible pacing and felt very slow, boring and too long. It did not make me care about the characters or the convoluted "plot" much at all. The performances were mid. Chris Hemsworth was too silly and Anya Taylor-Joy was just ok. Charlize Theron was a million times better. Too much silence between scenes that kill the pacing. Needs more score. I also did not like the overuse of CGI in this. I miss the practical effects of Fury Road. Overall very mediocre and very disappointed. Went into this with very high hopes.
The BBCU (Brother Bro Cinematic Universe) continues!
Charlize theron should have been nominated for best actress for mad max fury Road instead of Jennifer Lawrence in joy
facts
I'd have to agree purely because no one remembers Joy.
@@gutterbaby8382 fuck david o rusell..he ha multiple projects in the pipline meanwhile lynch has been getting rejected for years
and Alicia Vikander for Ex Machina (Best Supporting Actress)

Brother bro could be a model.
Brother Bro is great.
Reminded me a The Road Warriors big brother. And that's absolutely fine by me since Road Warrior is my favorite movie from the Mad Max franchise.
KEEP THEM COMING, W BROTHER BRO (AND THE OSCAR EXPERT FOR EDITING).
This is one of the few action spectacles I'm looking forward to this summer. Thanks BB!

I loved it. I'm thinking of going again next weekend

Not even best of the franchise, IMO. Road Warrior is better.

LOL.
@@rodycaz8984 I'm just not even sure why you replied in the first place. You like Road Warrior better. Okay? Cool?

Dune is the new Mad Max. The Academy already has their sci-fi epic favorite for next year's best picture lineup
dune is overrated
@@tadoegloden332 irrelevant and not my point

after Everything Everywhere All At Once won the Best Picture Oscar... anything is possible.
we just need time to prove that Furiosa as good as Fury Road or maybe even better 😊
I LOVED this movie! Will watch again. Though every time there was a CG shot I was not as engaged. They just dont give me that shot of excitement.
One of the best franchises of all time in my opinion when it comes to consistency.
Huh? 1 is meh and 3 is a joke.
"She's got the eyes"
Mad Max last night, Road Warrior tonight.
So on and so forth until Thursday!
KEEP THEM COMING, BRO!
Waiting for Emilia Perez review
Pretty sure it's gonna get 5 noms at least, it's george miller not some random dude lol
A fair & thorough review. I’m still looking forward to this.
And very stylish shirt btw
Looks like something I'll see even if the reviews are wrong.
is it not out of contest?
It is out of competition
I loved this video 🎬
Deeply curious as to how far past the inevitable HCA midseason awards Chris Hemsworth makes it

Why does Chris looks fat in this movie?

Fury Road, even Thunderdome was better......poor CGI
Didn't see it because I could see it's garbage
Cgi looks awful...won't be seeing it
