Just watched it and it had a couple of pretty mediocre green screen and digital moments. But overall it’s an amazing looking movie and was actually a good movie over all. He really created one of the most fascinating post apocalyptic worlds with these characters. Sure, the continuity is a disaster but you just have to let it go and enjoy. I actually liked this more than Fury Rd. Might be Hemsworth’s best performance yet.
So far it’s a pretty good year for WB. Last year besides Barbie and Wonka all of their films were flops. This year though they have Dune part 2, Godzilla x Kong and now Furiosa. If WB keeps this up they could have a good year

Hopefully it can be a worthy possible end to Miller’s career.
Then why dont you wait un til they have a Mad max movies instead of yet another woman warrior movie? We have the Predator franchise now with a. skinny girl boss that can easily beat up Predators. Nw we have Furiosa that can take over for Mad max. We have Galadriel who is the strongest fighter in Middle Earth. No wonder we have boys growing up fat, sedentary, and unable to protect anyone. Hollywood is really doing a good job convincing men they are weak, m and convincing women they are physically stronger than men..... until they try and play sports against a teen age boy.
@@zackyyyy007 I dont have a problem against women. But Im tired of seeing nothing else. If it was even 50/50 it wouldn't be so bad. But the constant girl bossing is annoying as F. Exactly why do we need to replace practically all male heroes with women? Make new female heroes if you need them, but keep putting out shows with male heroes. It's especially bad with white male heroes. EVERYONE deserves to be represented.
@@zackyyyy007 I see it too. It's completely over the top. It's ridiculous to have so absurdly many women led action stories and so few male led ones, and this lady is right. It is especially few with white men as heroes. I cant even think of any sci fi or fantasy stories with a wide male heroic lead. They even rewrote Dune so that Chanti was more of the lead in the story than Paul. He certainly isnt very heroic. And what else do you have? Not one thing written in the last few years. They even made sure that the Witcher wasnt about the Witcher, but more about Ciri and Yennifer. But the most ridiculoous part of the whole thing is in the real world, women, are much, much weaker than men physically. We can't fight men with our bare hands. Take a look at sports. So why do we need to show in movies that women are constantly the ones fighting better than men? Why is it so important to go against reality?
I actually love furiosa so much. I think it can't relate to fury road...however I thought furiosa was a little better than fury road but they are both 10/10 action films

It will probably be the only movie that I see more than once in the theater, and that's quite rare for me. It was such as great movie. I just saw it today and in the beginning, the oldman reminded me of Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings for some reason but overall, it was a great film. 🔥🤘🏻💀🤘🏻🔥
Finally got to see it this weekend, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The story was engaging due to the personal stakes which I really liked, and it had some awesome new vehicles to add to the Mad Max catalogue (plus a few returning machines from Fury Road, which I appreciated). I especially loved that six-wheeled Mack monster truck. (Also as a side note, the surround sound during the vehicle sequences was killer, which you’ll love if you’re somewhat of a gearhead like me who loves the sounds of monstrous motorcycle and V8 engines). I was also slightly concerned about the CGI at first because of the trailers, and admittedly I can’t say it looked quite as good as Fury Road, but personally it never really bothered me. The thought of “that looks fake, it’s clearly CGI” never really crossed my mind cus of how engaged I was. As someone who recently watched and immediately came to love Fury Road, I was hyped for this movie, and it didn’t disappoint! I’d say it’s my 2nd favorite of the franchise just behind that film. It’s just a shame that there was only a total of maybe six people in my whole theater including myself, I really would have loved to see it perform much better like it deserved, but unfortunately the cards just weren’t in its favor.

Maybe the only character that didn't seem younger was Rictus. I'd have more issues with Max's age in Fury Road considering the time that has seemingly passed since the first movie.
Really enjoyed the movie, and how it tried to be more distinct than Fury Road story wise, because they knew in terms of action epic it's a hard movie to match. There's only two-three insignificant flaws for me: one is how we didn't get the wasteland battle at the end; second one is the implausible scene, where Furiosa escaped on a bike from Dementus; the third one is how they wrote Furiosa's disguise as a worker boy, who eventually became a driver and all that - Joe didn't recognize her or even notice her disappearance, just felt like a bit of a sloppy writing there

I saw it and I think I missed the point. I didn't need to see the story, there wasn't very much compelling about it. Most of the action beats we had seen very similar stuff in fury road. But this time I really noticed some shoddy special effects and green screen / compositing work. Hemsworth was great for the first 40 minutes or so, but after that his antics were not entertaining me.
There is apparently a Mad Max movie called (Mad Max: The Wasteland) that has been in production hell for years that is supposed to be a continuation of (Mad Max: Fury Road). At this point there is no release date for it, so it might be a very long time before we get another Mad Max movie.
George Miller can direct the Mad Max one year ago prequel at 90. And then he can direct the fury road sequel at 100. Then the Old Man Max movie at 110.
I got to see the movie early in a early screen a friend got me in to. It has an ABUNDANCE of great scenes. @@zacharymoviechat211 A friend of a friend is press and gave my friend a ticket that came with a plus one so we saw it in IMAX. I appreciate it but trying to figure out how to get into it at the moment.
In those "bad" green screen shots, is it something where it's trying to look real and failed....or is it more like a stylized look that Robert Rodriguez would do?
@@carterslade8771 I would say an artist should use whatever tools works best for the aesthetic they're going for. Not everything has to look real. Pulpy is fine
Its most definitely a stylistic choice. Look at the past Mad Max films, they are ALL very stylized, but I think Miller wanted this one to resemble a cartoon. Its basically a Robert Rodriguez film, but with better CGI.
My main negativ about this movie is the CGI. I don't understand why they would do the movie like this. Fury road was awesome with all the stuff they did but this is not what I want from a Mad max movie.
I don't see this comment so apologize if you've answered this already- but can this movie be seen as a first movie in the franchise (meaning does a person have to do any homework before seeing this one?)
I(t's only a prequel to Fury Road. So that would be the only homework. That's the order the story was told. So that would be my recommendation for how to watch it. With that said, I think the movie would work if you watched it before Fury Road. I imagine it makes both movies feel different in that order.
I am quite sad that I must say that I didn’t like this movie…. I was excited and didn’t have any specifics expectation and just trust Miller in is vision…….I think that I prefer when Mad Max is about what happen to an almost unknown anti-hero than haved every little explications from every mysteries of both movies givent to me like somedy chew my food for me…..I prefer « show don’t tell » in movies. He should have make a serie with thoses stories
Maybe but as stated in the video, Miller has had this story and script for 15 years. This story was supposed to come out as an anime along with fury road. But Miller decided he wanted to tell the story
I loved this movie when I first watched it, but then I went back and watched all the mad max movies afterwards including fury road, and it actually weakened furiosa for me by a lot
I think this movie was the last drop for me in terms of villains imitating Heath Ledger's Joker in one way or another, with that charming and funny lunatic persona. Hemsworth does an amazing job as that, but I'm honestly just kinda tired of movies doing this over and over and over again for the last 15 years. The movie overall I thougth was on par with Fury Road for the last 80% of it, but that beginning sequence that shows how she was captured was not that well scripted and relied too much on characters acting in a stupid fashion. The Bullet Farm action sequence and the War Rig attack were absolutely phenomenal. Chef's kiss!
So my views on this franchise are very interesting because I hate the first movie, I think the second is okay, don’t really like the third and then I LOVE Fury Road! I’ve sure loved the trailers for Furiosa but we’ll see what I think.
Anya Taylor-Joy was a perfect choice for cast, she really looks like younger Charlize Theron here. Except, i wish they ended the movie without the scene which ties it directly into Fury Road, since we still see Taylor Joy there and not Charlize
Dune: Part Two Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga We're only in May and we're already got three potential Top 10 of the year movies. 2024 is 🔥
I am so so so tired of girlbossery. I mean it was OK back when we had some shows like Buffy or Xena. When it was kind of fresh, and we all loved it because it was different. Now when you see an action film you know it's either going to be a woman in the lead, OR they just can't wait until they build up an audience so they can switch it. And I dont know anyone who can actually relate to these amazonian manly women. Girls dont want to see Furiosa. They want to see Barbie. Boys mostly will not want to see Furiosa, but the types of boys that like a big strong mother figure might enjoy it.
Most of the people reviewing this film are younger than us. Many of them admit to Fury Road being their first Mad Max experience, and some have never even watched the original trilogy (perhaps as some kind of virtue signal). I have a hard time taking those "reviews" seriously.
The CGI in this movie is so flawed that it makes me cringe!!! And this is a 2024 movie! It removes all the perception of reality in the movie and puts you on a video game experience. No thank you! I honestly value the sense of immersion a movie can bring and Furiosa's short trailer removed it, and that short scene you showed with the Volkswagen being pushed off the cliff made me cringe yet again, my brain immediately goes "FAKE!" and removes the sense of aw of the scene. It's like people are desensitized to crappy CGI in movies. I really don't get it!
Ngl yall I love Mad Max. But this was too much for me😅. Disturbing isn’t even the word. I had to walk out before it finished. My stomach couldn’t handle it. It lost me when they offered the child as a sex slave. Couldn’t do it yall.
I just saw it, and it was wack. It told a not so thrilling story that we didn't even need, and the action and visuals were not up to the level of Fury Road (not even close). I'd give it a C.
I’m very up and down with the mad Max movies. The original I think is extremely overrated and poorly paced The second I like a lot and I think is awesome The third is just meh The fourth is one of my favourite films. I hope I enjoy 🎉
I think you need to take the original in the context under which it was released. It was this low budget punk rock car carnage movie that has grown into a 21st century $100s of million dollar franchise. There's a bunch of obvious basic things it gets very very wrong. But when it came out it was ground breaking.
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout Fair enough 👍. I think it’s just in that category of a film I respect rather than a film I enjoy👌 kind of like the original Friday the 13th.

Sean what did you like better Furiosa or Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
Good question to answer with a ranking at the end of the month 😉
nice review👍
seeing film Sunday
The picture, the music the effects the action is better in Fury Rd 10 years ago.
Cannot wit to watch this movie this weekend! Couldn't think of a better film to come out this memorial day weekend!
Watching this saturday. I cant wait. I recently watched Fury Road this past week and really liked it. Hope this movie is great
Another fantastic video! thank you!
been changing up that logo a lot Sean. not that I'm complaining of course
Great review!
This was a great prequel to Fury Road. I hope another movie is soon behind
There is apparently a Mad Max movie called (Mad Max: The Wasteland) that has been in production hell for years that is supposed to be a continuation of (Mad Max: Fury Road). At this point there is no release date for it, so it might be a very long time before we get another Mad Max movie.
@@godzilla5742 I don't have that type of patience bruh!
@@dvitoc Yeah, perfectly understandable.😆
George Miller can direct the Mad Max one year ago prequel at 90.
And then he can direct the fury road sequel at 100.
Then the Old Man Max movie at 110.
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout hey if Clint Eastwood can do it, so can George!
No wonder Kojima love this movie. Praetorian Jack looks like Big Boss.
I got to see the movie early in a early screen a friend got me in to. It has an ABUNDANCE of great scenes.
Sean if you by chance see this I’m thinking of getting into movie reviewing and making my own content. I wanted to know how you got into it and how did you get press access to view/review films.
I also got access on my own to see TRAP next week.
Wait how did you get access? Also, if you start making content, I'll subscribe!
@@zacharymoviechat211 A friend of a friend is press and gave my friend a ticket that came with a plus one so we saw it in IMAX. I appreciate it but trying to figure out how to get into it at the moment.
this channel should get more views
In those "bad" green screen shots, is it something where it's trying to look real and failed....or is it more like a stylized look that Robert Rodriguez would do?
I would say it's the latter. The film has a unified look. You can tell when things aren't real, but the movie remains cohesive.
Seeing this movie and Garfield this Friday!
I am gonna watch it soon in the theater with a friend.
I am not really excited about this movie.
Still want to see it though :)
Mad max was originally about vengeance. Thats exactly what this was. With homage for fury road incorporated
Yep back to the vengeance origins
I wouldn’t call this sanitised. This is the most disturbing. Like the scene where they are growing maggots off the bodies for food.
They should bring in George Miller for Thor 5
I can't wait to watch this movie. I absolutely love Fury Road
Just saw the movie, it’s my last favourite of the franchise but I still liked it… however, some of the special effects were iffy at best.
Badass movie. This and fury road are an awesome double feature
What's james gunn doing there 😂😂
Fury Road is one of my favorites of all time, so pretty excited for this one. Thanks for the review, boss 🫡
Sean chandler, please do a gilmore girls season ranking
If Tom Hardy wasn’t so difficult to work with, then perhaps we would be talking about a Mad Max movie instead of a Furiosa movie.
What other villains have tried to be heath the last 10 years ?
So my views on this franchise are very interesting because I hate the first movie, I think the second is okay, don’t really like the third and then I LOVE Fury Road! I’ve sure loved the trailers for Furiosa but we’ll see what I think.
Furiosa a mad max saga is the best movie of 2024 is a masterpiece
We need one last tom hardy movies where he explores new lands and mew factions we havent seen before
Anya Taylor-Joy was a perfect choice for cast, she really looks like younger Charlize Theron here. Except, i wish they ended the movie without the scene which ties it directly into Fury Road, since we still see Taylor Joy there and not Charlize
Best prequel ever made!!!

I'm pretty excited to see this movie. Fury road was such a surprise to me. Great video review.
People need to realize every movie uses cgi is it noticeable is the real issue .
Nice
Wow,, you’d think you actually watched the movie first before u came u up with that take
Ngl yall I love Mad Max. But this was too much for me😅. Disturbing isn’t even the word. I had to walk out before it finished. My stomach couldn’t handle it. It lost me when they offered the child as a sex slave. Couldn’t do it yall.
I Loved this movie
I just saw it, and it was wack. It told a not so thrilling story that we didn't even need, and the action and visuals were not up to the level of Fury Road (not even close). I'd give it a C.
4/5 movie 💯
I loved it
I’m very up and down with the mad Max movies.
The original I think is extremely overrated and poorly paced
The second I like a lot and I think is awesome
The third is just meh
The fourth is one of my favourite films.
@@JakeTheMan784 Exactly! I grew up on it. So I love it, but I TOTALLY understand what you're saying.
Visually awful without the beautiful cinematography of John Seale or Dean Seamler.
