Hi there. I appreciate your foray into knit fabrics! Personally I prefer to wear knit tops to woven, and when I got back into sewing some years back, I decided I needed to learn to sew what I like to wear. I was initially intimidated to sew with knits but found they are not the nemesis I had made them out to be! I started out measuring some rtw tshirts of which I liked the fit and used that as my starting basis when comparing to patterns. I like a looser tshirt so not to show my “rolls.” This has served me well. Btw, I also made the fantail sweatshirt and love it! If I recall correctly, I think I had to adjust the hemline (on my second go) to get the exaggerated high-low hem. I wish you all the best in your knit journey!
@@rhondaa18 thanks Rhonda. I do like experimenting and playing with my patterns, so 2025 will be no different. I will continue to enjoy playing with fabrics and patterns all over again.... Sew, sleep, repeat! ❤️

My go to knit top pattern is Love Notions Classic Tee. It comes with full bust sizes. I have made them in both jersey knit and French terry. I use Gutterman Miraflex thread and sew with a straight stitch. Sewing knits will become a breeze for you as you are an excellent seamstress.
I love Pattern Emporium patterns. I recently made the last chance tiered dress. I believe it was called out of rayon. I love death. My favourite T-shirt patterns are the Jackson, which is a very unfitted T-shirt, which I make for I call it my at home uniform, lol and the long sleeve is very nice also The Jackson tea is made by Helen‘s closet and she has excellent Pattern instructions also and if you are interested in purchasing fabric from Canada, which may be better dollar value for you, there is a place called fabric snob that has excellent jersey called Lux and I primarily buy all of my T-shirt fabric from them, but it is only plain I believe And I’ve noticed you prefer Pattern.

Thanks for this vlog. Like you I'm new to stretch fabrics. I really struggle with them, I can't seem to get the stitching nice and neat. Yours look well finished. Certainly the quality is a big deal. Thanks again
You definitely get plenty of bang for your buck with PE patterns 😄 I prefer the Bestie Tee on my body, it flares out to a slight swing style in the body which drapes over my stomach rather than clinging to it. I’ve made 4 so far and learned that I don’t like viscose jersey in the process 😂 💞
Hi Kim, I’m new to your channel and started subscribing at once. I’m keeping myself occupied watching back at your videos as I’m down with a cold and I love your content! I have sewn a lot in jersey (and woven) and have a similar bodyshape as you, and my favorite top is selfdrafted by copying a ready to wear top. It’s very similar to the Pattern Emporium top except it’s more A-lined. That makes it skim over my tummy instead of clinging but at the same time fitting well over the bust. I usually make it long enough to cover my bum and I love the style of it, wear it all the time! I don’t sew neckbands, or any ribbing or cuffs, I just hem. I usually hem with one of the decorative stitches on my machine as they often are stretchy, I do a fun bit of testing different seams on a piece of scrap first.
Bonjour je vous regarde depuis peu j'adore les cousettes que vous réalisez hier j'ai acheté le PDF de la blouse Marnie et la je regarde pour le sweat fantail hack bonne année 2025
I sew lots of jersey, and I usually find neckbands are lots better in ribbing. Many a sewer I watch who use self fabric for neckbands have a bit of gaping at the front even on thicker fabrics. I sew the pattern emporium keep it simple babe t shirt a lot, but i do find their sleeves really wide on the upper arm for me and have to take about 3 inches out.
My go to t shirt patterns are the Wardrobe By Me builder tee and the Trudy Turtleneck. Personally i don't think using a woven pattern for jersey, even when it says you can, ever works round the neck. You always need to tweak the length of the neck band to achieve a flat fit. Most of my makes are jersey as i like a super quick sews. Using your twin needle on the neck and hems is the way to go, with the walking foot. It does help if the foot is a clear one so you can see where you are stitching. I've also only just found your channel and really enjoying your content.

Hi Kim, just catching up so I must see the rest of your latest series. I sew a lot of sweatshirts and tee shirts, I like warm clothes. Have you tried a twin needle yet? I like the finish it gives. I'm constantly looking for sweatshirt patterns with a bit of style rather than plain. My favourite at the moment is the Aspen Pullover from peek-a-boo patterns. The first Fantail is not too bad, but if you're not comfortable with it then it won't get worn. I have had a few where the fabric has let me down. The second one is nicer - is the fabric Cosy Colours? Seems similar to my Southbank I recently made in navy with small flecks in (see my new video of my 2024 makes! - I've decided to take the plunge and post videos but I have no idea what I'm doing, and a bit hesitant to speak or show myself!). I like the Bound To Bee Tee as well, I've made two with short sleeves. I find I have to lower bust darts, but do not need the FBA, so after having some fitting issues with other t-shirts I lowered the armpit on this t-shirt and the fit is much better. I do like sewing knits.
