I looove the drama, as if he's caught in the midst of strutting his stuff! And Oran has something special over lots of other sculptures: His crazy pose makes him interesting to look at from all angles
Honestly if it was painted I wouldn't be able to see the difference between Breyer sculpts that you customize and your first sculpt of Oran. It looks great and I like the free flowing look of him. Would also love to see a sticker of him. I'm starting to paint minitures and learning a lot of different hobby techniques. Keep up the great work.
Congrats on your first original sculpture! With his flow and how stylized he is, it would be really really cool to have him cast in clear resin. I really could see him painted as the Nokk from frozen💜
I love him! The energy, the flow,so dynamic! It really conveys the action and expression of a real horse! I've seen perfect,super-realistic models and sculptures that have no life or expression to them all.B-o-r-i-n-g.Congratulations,whether you cast him or not, you've done yourself proud and I hope you'll do more in future. In Scottish Gaelic,"Oran" means "song".Interesting how two closely related languages have assigned the word very different meanings.I think Oran is worthy of both meanings 😊
It's always wonderful to watch someone achieve an artistic breakthrough. I think it's generous of you to share this pivotal moment in your journey with us. Thumbs up!
WOW, I love this so much...of your amazing creations, he is one of my favorites! You've truly captured the spirit of your passion- the best art is created when you let go of perfectionism and create from the soul. So inspiring!
Absolutely amazing sculpture!! He looks super fun and sassy. I hope you cast him because I think there are so many different coat colors that would look amazing on him. You should turn his sketch into a sticker because I’m so obsessed with your stickers 🤣
Lovely he is a free spirit, I'd love to see him cast, totally would buy him. One of my favorite Breyer runs is the Mesteno series/run back in 1996. Most of them weren't really realistic sculpted, but they do have lots of character/personality. I did give my original collection away (all my Breyer's in fact) when I left home. Walmart re-released many of the molds in a mustang series and I bought quite a few. They rekindled my love of Breyer collecting.
An idea of a paint job for him would be any coat and any mane color, but giving him a dyed green tip fade and green eyes would really show the meaning of his name alot!
He may not be “perfect”, but damn, is he ever evocative.....fabulous work for your first original sculpture, he’s wonderful. You have a great eye for motion and flow, well done👏👏👏💕💜💕
This is so inspiring because I know exactly how you feel! I want my work to be as good as Emilia Kurilas or Sarah Rose but I know its going to take more than a few attempts to get there 🥰
Ok you’re amazing! So I’m lazy and haven’t looked through your past videos but I’d love to see what art and tool products you use or recommend! For both painting and sculptures!
Are u going to keep him after painting, or are u going to sell him? 👀 Also, i love the sculpture! Usually people start simple, but u made yours so complicated, but so beautiful at the same time! 😍
This makes me want to do my own origenal equine sculptures, especially fantasy ones like water horses, unicorns, pegasi, and nightmares with red eyes, whare can i find the resin you use by the way, that little guy is so cute, you should cast him in resin so you can keep him forever and ever
@@DeeJayBeStudios, i’m going to make giant robot horses that move and do stuff, it’s going to be so cool and epic, i just have to get the stuff for christmas first, how much epoxy sculpt would i need for four miniature horse sized projects?

Congratz Beautiful He's Magnificent Dreamy Have u ever possibly thought of scenery with ur Models ? Maybe n future ... Just had , idea of a gorgeous back ground almost like within which breyer introduces their staging with their Horses Would most likely be time consuming , not a lot of them just a few models with their lifely scenery within which they jump out of ... Enchanting within that moment Univerzal Hugz Many Bless'nz ✨🤗✨ 💓
In the realm of practice: my friend, Frances Alty-Arscott has said, “You can’t know your subject well until you’ve painted the same image at least 10 times! Oran is gorgeous for sure but much less light and whimsical compared to your drawing. The need for hoof-on-ground made the sculpture more weighted🤔
Yep! 10,000 hours too. The only way to make him truly weightless would be a support in his belly. I hope to redo him one day with the skills I now have.
Realism is way too overrated in my opinion. I personally would prefer buying sculptures that you KNOW by one glance who the artist is, rather than having to go online and research who the hell modelled this and that horse. Don't get me wrong, realistic figurines are absolutely amazing and I admire people that can create a miniature version of a realistic thing by scratch but...too often it gets boring, it limits people or it just ends up as something (like Breyer and co) that is used not as a piece to appreciate as it was made but rather butcher and use as a base for something completely different. I'm sure it would irk many artists if their sculptures were treated like that 24/7. (Which MAY be the reason so many artist resisn are sold for amounts of money that make it actually HURT to butcher the piece... XD). I want to start modeling my own horses too eventually, but rather than realism or semi-realism, I want to go for my own artstyle, but simply in 3D. I think it's more fun to create because it gives more freedom since you can exagerate poses just much more and it still doesn't look wrong due to the stylization.

That is a great message. Just start sculpting and don't compare yourself to other artists.
I think he is totally gorgeous!! He looks like he could be in a Disney movie ❤️
Girl......He's Incredible to say the least. ♥♥♥ Just gorgeous.
The sculpture looks soooooo good! ♡♡♡♡♡
Please cast and replicate him, I will totally buy one
He is SO pretty! He would look awsome as traditional size/scale
I absolutely love this. I love the style, I don't cares if its not realistic. When I look at him I think yep that's a DeeJayBe horse ❤

This kind of stylization can put you into a gallery once you get the details of the base etc the way you want it. Great job👍👍👍
Oh my he is amazing 😉! I love the action! He would make a remarkable buckskin! Love him great work!
Beautiful work. Never let anyone tell you different!
“it doesn’t have to be realistic” looks pretty realistic to me..

He is so flowing and I wondered if you could put epoxy over polymer clay. Love that you share your technique. Thank you!
From one serious artist to another. Style is always more impressive than “realism” . (Copying)
Awesome!! He's so dramatic and I love it I had been working on a horse sculpture but I only got half the head done :)
I really like your correct as you go style and show the mistakes you made. Thank you for posting such great tutorials!
I love him. I would love to have him as a unicorn i love the wildness of him.
I do love the motion and emotion so much. Great work.

OMG! You should be proud of your self! He turned out beautiful girly.
I'd love to see him when your done painting him. 😊👍
OMG HES BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! he will look amazing in paint
Amazing 😍
I absolutely love him and his pose
Brilliant! love the stylised look, the movement you have captured is incredible!
Sweet , it’s awesome 10,000 hours and your a professional , it goes by quick it’s unique and one of a kind 👍

He looks fantastic!
He’s beautiful! Congratulations
He came out amazing! I would totally buy one if he was a cast! I love the style! But I totally understand if you don’t wanna cast him.

Nice horse!!
i am very interested in doing a horse rolling. have you done one?
Are you going to paint him? If so what cote color will you do on him? I think a blue roan or a bay roan pinto would be so cool!
He is so awesome
Awesome!

That sculpt is really great, can I get a copy of Oran, but in trad size 1/9th scale by chance?? You are extremely gifted Dee
Thank you! Copies were not made of him, only the original.

You should! It’s so rewarding. I have the original in my living room and I will keep him forever and ever. No need to cast!

early i luv your customs!
Can you give the link of the 3d sculpt ??
i love it
Could you spell the name of the clay you used? Thanks
he is beautiful
Oh and I was wondering, can epoxy survive going in the oven if you decide to do certain parts of a sculpture with polymer clay?
Id test it before doing it with a model or whatever
omgg! i want one!
Early!! Love this channel, I'm looking to sell animal customs soon (Of course I'm no where near drastic customs or anything, just repaints xD)
I didn't do any customising breyers or schleichs I just made models from scratch
17th viewer!! love the vid!!
