    I have so much respect for Miliband as a person. I feel he drew the short straw with the media and what not.

    I thought when I watched the last leg that edd was talking off the cuff, but talked more to me than any other politician ever, true wit & conviction .

    i think any decision that was made would have cost thousands of lives. A no win situation..

    That's pretty fucking brutal, both asking him that and what happened in Syria.

    In my opinion, that decision was probably the best thing he ever did.

      I believe it is as true now as it was then.
      If Britain had authorised these strikes at that time, France and America would not have cancelled their offensive, and the Assad regime would have fallen 16 years ago.
      If that had happened, ISIS would have taken Damascus, and plausibly Baghdad as well.
      ISIS would have become the Syrian regime, and plausibly the Iraqi one as well.
      They could have become the primary regional power.
      The situation would have been immeasurably worse.

      Hate to say it, yes it was better to not get involved, it was an Obama rush and they didn't have a plan for afterwards... But they do have to make peace with the 500,000 dead as a result of their inaction...

    He actually seems like a reasonable guy with a good head. I didn't think much of him when he was campaigning (would have voted Labour anyway though, hell will freeze over before I vote Tory), but now I'm kind of gutted that he didn't do better.

    We shouldn't be bombing Syria or anyone country, bombs cannot differentiate between the innocent and the guilty. We should help, yes, but by sending ground troops.

      Rob Hutch All were poorly thought out wars with no obvious plan organised by a right-wing government who cared only about profit. What's your solution to the issues in Syria?

    I always thought Miliband was a bit of a twat as leader, but in himself he does seem cool in himself and he stands for good values.To be honest he should have never have gone for leader, it's not what he's good at at and it ruined his reputation more than anything else.

    It irritates me how Politicians never admit they made a mistake

    • @TheCasualObservers
      @TheCasualObservers 7 років тому +15

      Yes Now mainly because he doesn't think he made a mistake. Turns out not every politician wants to spend millions going to war without a plan.

    • @katy3901
      @katy3901 4 роки тому

      I'd kind of disagree with you there- in fact, in this very clip he admits that the Libya invention didn't go to plan. Whilst the criticism is valid of many politicians, Ed Miliband does have a commendable track record of taking responsibility for and reexamining pervious decisions.

    I think that was a half answer. what about ISIS, would they exist with even close to the power they have today if we had stayed or played a more militant role in the area. how many hundreds of thousands would still be alive. how many millions would have stayed in Syria? millions of people have left Syria since 2013. blaming "not having a good enough plan" is a joke. they knew they were leaving a power vacuum behind.

      Would you have preferred a really glib, rehearsed answer? Blair would have had one of those handy.
