Fantastic job as always! I've oftentimes wondered what the modern computing industry would have looked like if the MSX standard had become THE standard over IBM. Only wished they would have brought the MSX to the States.
There were a couple of MSX models available in the States, one from Spectravideo and a music MSX from Yamaha. But they really were publicised or promoted and remain very obscure. Apparently Microsoft asked for the MSX to be kept out of America because of the rise of the PC there, which they were also committed to.
It's interesting how MSX in North America was not a thing, as it was very popular in South America (60Hz like in Japan) and Europe (50Hz). I basically grew up with two of them, the first one as a birth gift from my father in '84 :D As for standard? I think "Visual Basic" is the closest you can get from it in a programmer's view. But if you mean visuals, then i have no idea :b
So basically microsoft’s xbox was NOT the xbox but the msx also sinse msx stands stands for microsoft basic exchange, BTW eventrough deawoo’s memmix NEVER compeated against the nes,BUT it did had at minimum 1 nintendo game on it ,donkeykong since msx donkeykong should be also compatible on the zemmix, and lastly since deawoo stripped off the keyboard to make the system cheaper and turn it into a game console,HOWEVER they eventually did go full circle by turning it back into a full computer by coming with an external keyboard for it,so hahaha, Man it makes me wish commodore did this with their C64GS system to also remain fully compatibility with all it’s cartride based C64 games, but they didn’t and there was even no port for an optional keyboard for it either.
Why in God's name is it pink?! Yuck. Hey, here's a big pink eyesore that sits right underneath your wood grain or jet black TV! I just love having all my attention grabbed away from the screen while I'm playing a game. Thank you Daewoo and Microsoft!
@TheLairdsLair Damnit Laird I was in the zone and you just ruined everything. Now, take it back and say "You're 100% right Sinn! It only came in pink and therefore you win!" Otherwise why was I even born. ;) Addendum- I had no idea it came in different colors. That is actually pretty cool. It's a shame no one does that anymore. Well, besides Nintendo and the Switch is wellllll past its retirement age. They need to stop abusing the geriatric and let him rest. :) This was an excellent video. I really had no idea this thing existed.
Now this is interesting! Even as an "Xbox guy" this is something I never knew about.
6:27 is that altered beast? I must buy this console
Yeah, it's not just Altered Beast - it's SUPER Altered Beast!!!!
@@TheLairdsLair no kidding ey...it blew my mind when I saw it. Is there a msx emulator you recommend?
Blue MSX is what I use to make all my videos and it has a Zemmix bios on it.
That Korean commercial with the three kids all silver blows my mind. I'd love to know the English translation to it. Too funny
Ahhh here it is
Wow, never heard of this! I kind of want one now though!!!! XD

Is that new mini a physical mini or just the raspberry pi emulators? I haven't located it.
It's a real mini - Google Zemmix Mini and you should be able to find it.
Thanks. The Neo was never produced and they only made 500 Minis. Too bad. DuckDuckGo.
Another great video mate, loving your work
Glad you enjoyed it!

Actually it was available in lots of different colours - white, blue, green, black, silver etc.
