Is there any evidence it was launched from Ukraine and not from inside Russia?
Wow world class Russian airforce cant hit a toy glider in broad daylight
To be fair, they expect large targets that can be seen by radar. A SAM won’t be able to lock on this drone and the internal logic may dismiss it as an albatross or so. It would be funny to see the comments in the software. Maybe something like ”Blyat, what is this?”
It wasn't a glider.
@@TheFrewah I don't think they expect that in 2024.
@@TheFrewah To be fair, this drones were seen by soldiers and people who fired at them on their way to the Airbase, they must have known that they are coming. I would assume this wasn't the only drone that got through, someone in the background of the video at 1:07 said "another one is flying" in russian, meaning some had already flown by
Yep
reports says 3 drones, and a russian twitter account published pictures of collected debris from these thre drones. a heap of planks really, but IMO it could obtain pieces of three drones.. who knows, with society of lies.
EDIT: after looking at it, the pictures shows motors for 5 propelas.. Isnt this a single propella drone, at the rear of it..
If there were 2 it would seem likely that they were oblivious to the first one until it exploded, so only filmed and shot at the second one.
There is still shooting after explosion.

You will be invulnerable. enjoy the time of a quiet life in countries that support Ukrainian terrorists less and less.
There was a bot comment since deleted that predicted Europe demise etc. I found this very revealing because Kremlin has no empathy and can see only itself in others.
So using my bot comment deciphering tools I'm assuming kremlin is now aware that with NATO accepting two powerful first world industrial sovereign nations, Sweden and Finland, and Europe gearing up arms production to match the corrupt empire's meatwave and civilian targeting strategies, inept Putin has shown all of Russia's cards.
So the demise narrative the bot was sharing suggests they can see cracks and weaknesses in their corrupt kleptocracy now. This is interesting. I think the bot revealed more than he intended.
but you'd think a base with insanely expensive and rare bombers would be a priority.

Here’s to a free, independent and sovereign Ukraine, all of it.
I think the last genuine intercept of an aerial target...
...was Prigozhin's plane.
Absolutely.
What air defense 🤣
They had only firecrackers
As much as I don't like russia I feel like I need to defend their air defenses - keep in mind that those systems were not targeted in this attack so they had no chance to intercept it with their chassis. Even the most modern USA systems have no chance at intercepting attack with the chassis if no drone rocket or shell is targeted at it

One million rounds and not a single hit.
You'd have to be Buffalo Bill ... and dead sober ... to hit that with a rifle.
Light aircraft and drones are fast enough that you have to aim well ahead of it to hit it.
I don't think the average soldier received instruction on AA fire like in WW2. If you want to hit something flying, you have to lead the target significantly. I'm guessing 99% of bullets passed behind and below the drone since most conscripts will aim directly at it.

I once saw a definitely-true documentary about a flying T55. It spun it's turret really really fast and shot lasers like a Gundam. Thx, Sucho.
"Mordor hit."
Well done great video keep up the brilliant work you do
That many, many machine guns that fire many, many bullits per second cannot hit a low flying slow drone, is beyond me.
It's pretty hard to hit a moving target, especially at long distance. Add in you're using an infantry weapon like an AK-74 or PKM, bouncing all over in full auto, it doesn't get easier.
They are probably aiming at the target, while the bullets take a ballistic path. Does the AK47 bullets have enough kinetic energy to stay on course.
@@donwyoming1936 dont forget they are also drunk on Vodka
@@agnelomascarenhas8990 that’s exactly what I was thinking
if the target was at flying 300 metres @@agnelomascarenhas8990 .... and they were shooting at an angle, giving a slant height of maybe 500 metres then no, both 5,45x39 or 7,62x39 would be dropping a lot by that distance, especially fired upwards.
You can hear they still fire weapons after the explosion, so maybe there were more drones.
Apparently someone said there was another one flying
The small arms fire is hilarious. The drone just minds it's own biz, doing a lazy aileron roll, flys inverted for a bit, then "pulls up". Nice report, both from Sucho and the explosive!
A modern V-1
Yes, you are right. For some reason, I didn’t think about that
Only much cheaper
@@Mirakolisnot to mention much more precise
V1 was random, unguided whereas these are guided/remote piloted...
@@davefave4351 The V-1 was guided by inertial navigation, mechanical mechanisms, gyroscopes, and math. It could not change its course to something it wasn't programmed for at launch, but it could reasonably follow its set course with enough accuracy to be an issue. The main problem was the math; Germany ate up the fake information that British newspapers were printing about the V-1s flying too far, and took fuel out of the Doodlebugs to compensate. As such they began falling roughly 20 miles short of target, so any that were not intercepted by fighters or the coastal defenses were not as big of a problem.
I love the guy's resigned Aloha Snackbar at the end
This makes me wonder what the probability is for a single drone to hit a target like this one. I suspect the drone may not be shot at until it is near where there are people with kalasjnikov guns and that some areas are more protected than others. I think that the design of the drone can be improved further.

All those bullets came down on the parking lot
Yeah, all small arms and not that many at that. Still is amazing that none of those small arms firing hit this super slow moving drone.
Without wanting to defend this kind of russian 'air defence' of an important military air base in any way, it seems to be the case that it actually is not that easy to hit a (still) relatively small moving object in the sky with small arms fire (especially if no one on location has ever been trained to do this). Also, it may well be the case that parts of the drone actually have been hit, (or even riddled with bullets), but this would not matter at all as long as the important parts keep working for a few more seconds. Plus I would think that at least the most vulnerable parts of those drones are in some ways protected against small arms fire - there are possible ways of doing this that would not add much to the overall weight of a larger drone like this one here.
@@Framo60 It would not take much of a hit from a shoulder fired weapon to take down such a drone - they are relatively densely packed with warhead, engine, fuel, control linkages, controls, etc. You are right though, unless well practiced it's a tough target to take down unless you are throwing a lot of lead at it.
@@johnhinkey5336 The fuel is mostly spent by the time of arrival.
And AFAIK there are explosive types that don't detonate by being hit even with a bullet, especially with its energy waning.

They would not be able to do anything anyway. They can’t lock on the target and chances are that drones would be dismissed as they fly much slower than expected
@@TheFrewahthe original claims on the S-400 were that it can detect hovering helicopters and mach 2 planes, and everything inbetween
@@sjonnieplayfull5859 I think it can. It would be nice for a helicopter to evade a missile simply by hovering. Blazing away with rifles at a small moving target they haven't a hope of hitting, brilliant. Any thought being given about where all the bullets they're firing are coming down?
The thing that gets me the most about this isn't just the lack of MANPADS but...where is the Shilka? Surely even a single one would be able to deal with this type of target very easily, there is even enough contrast to track the thing visually, and it is so damn slow. Hell even a ZU-23 might be fine here. Yea maybe they had them earlier and they did down other drones, but why wouldn't you put at least one AAA unit at every airbase you control if you know Ukraine is using these types of tactics?
