It would certainly move the lesson along and , for those of us who learn visually, it would further imprint the chord. Just a suggestion. And thanks again, you're doing a great job. Hello Sandra, really enjoying your videos:) can you tell me please if 'All The Things You are' , 'Rhythm Changes' or 'Giant Steps'? would be better for a beginner/Intermediate player or are those tunes all of similar level?
Mark R It depends, whether you want to solo over them or just do the comping, or even chord melody. Generally speaking Giant Steps is one of the hardest to play tunes in jazz history (for soloing, it's also extent fast). Rhythm changes can be pretty challenging too, bc the chords change every half bar. All the things you are is the easiest of the three, but it's not as easy as Autumn leaves for example. All the things is intermediate level, while the other two I consider to be advanced level.
James McClam Sure! I haven't released a waltz yet (what a shame for an Austrian, lol. We invented it). I was thinking about Bluesette, but will look into Waltz for Debby.
i mostly play country-rock, rockabilly, blues, delta blues and i'm putting myself into jazz through gypsy jazz. Well, i mean i use pick and finger-picking. The point is that when i try to play jazz as you do with my fingers i find loads of high harmonics because of the nails, so i have to cut them off, not even 1 mm long to avoid that unpleasent sound, so when i try to play country i have no nail at all to make it sound great. i'll have to deal with that issue. Any tip????
Body & Soul du meine absolute Lieblingsballade. Ich habe schon versucht die als Chord Melody zu arrangierten. Ich war aber nicht zufrieden. Es war für die Schüler zu schwer und wegen gewisser Noten auch generell nicht gut zu arrangieren. Ich bleib aber dran, da mir die Nummer selbst sehr am Herzen liegt.

I have bought your tabs and they are great. I suggest making a jazz songbook and selling it. Why not make a lesson book with a youtube referral to every lesson? I would surely buy both books. This is something that is really needed. There are some good books but you have to figure them out yourself.

Not sure, I prefer really short fingernails. Maybe cut em short and se athumbpick for country? But then again, i know nothing about country music.
