nice review man. I have a 1990 300e with 240k mi that I wish was a 4matic, but its a cool little car. I bought it to trash on back roads and in the winter but its just too nice
It's funny(interesting, not haha) that you mentioned lack of cup holders. I never really thought of it before but as a kid in the 70s and 80s we never had drinks or food in the car! Now I can't live without them
@@BernonCars haha! It's true! We only went to burger King or McDonald's if one of us had a birthday or something! It was considered a treat back then lolololol
Volvo would have been so wise to introduce AWD with the 240's. Sadly they waited for FWD before introducing the tech, a real missed opportunity for the Swedes.
That "Mode 2" claim of 50/50 is actually wrong. Since it also locks the center diff. 50/50 would have been true if the diff was open.. The diff locked will result in anywhere between 0 and 100% of the engines torque depending on situation.
your video is literally one second less than my angel number :/ Bern, you had one job..... that you weren't informed of at all XD JK, love the content always
@@BernonCars oh long time listener first time caller lol the way you deliver accurate facts very professionally and yet you are a little bit saucy, it’s perfect … see ya on the groups
Excellent video!! So you recommend me buy this wagon for 2000.00 dollars???? My neighbor has one, and he told me about it, but it has something’s to fix.. Idk if it’s good for me, what do you think??🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
would not say that subaru inspired here. at that time there were just a few in germany and they stayed super niche cars, mostly ignored until today in domestic market. mercedes back then claimed for itself to be the technological lead in automotive industry. but then came audi and changed its position to more upmarket cars. the quattro appealed to many, especially in countrys that have much snow or mountans. like switzerland, norway, sweden. car designs were not that international like a new SUV nowadays, european cars of that era are mostly europe centric. if having a time machine you'll find 4matic buyers among upper class people that own land or are in any kind of agricultural buisness.
Just bought my ‘92 300TE with 57k miles in damn near prestine condition! Love it
Nice!!
Koliko ste platili ako nije tajna?
I was doing a lot of research on these and the drive shaft through the springs just put a bullet through my heart 😢
It's madness!
You straight up can't find the springs anymore and if you do they cost more than the car.

I appreciate it! Yeah some of them are super clean! Still classy

Exactly! I guess that’s what drive throughs and fast food do now LOL

Thanks! 👍
nice video man, love
seeing these old euro cars !
Thank you! 😁
Great video Bernard. Well done. Such an interesting wagon.
It was fun to shoot! They definitely don’t make em like they used to
Really nice video with great examples of this car being driven in the dirt in ways I would think a 4x4 should only go to.
Thank you! These are surprisingly impressive off road
It is a 4x4...
Classic!
Love these. So robust
Very true!
Such a posh off roader! Eat your heart out, Land Rover!
Haha indeed! 😁
I have the same car in Saloon form. Parts for it are so difficult to find. Still looking for a few suspension components all over the world :(
Pain!
Better find as many parts for the 4matic as you can, they are rare, expensive, and hard to troubleshoot
Very true!
Could you please measure the length of the flat storage area when the rear seats are down?
Volvo would have been so wise to introduce AWD with the 240's. Sadly they waited for FWD before introducing the tech, a real missed opportunity for the Swedes.
Very true!!
A Volvo 240 Turbo AWD would have been a nice car. But Volvo missed a chance until the Volvo 850 AWD.
