    Season's Greetings, Ben & family, from some of your Wisconsin cousins(1st cousins, once removed; our mother, Mary Ann, and Dorothy were sisters). Alaska is our happy place, so we were excited to read (in your folks' Christmas letter) that you bought some property up there. Just starting to watch your earliest videos and trying to catch up. We look forward to following your journey in Alaska as well as Japan! All the best. Karen, Nancy and Ken Chuck & family from Oconomowoc!

      Season's Greeting to you and the family as well! It's always good to hear from our family back in Wisconsin, so thank you for tuning in and commenting ☺️ It sounds like Alaska is a special place for both of us! Best wishes to you and yours. Stay safe this holiday season and we hope to see you back on the channel and in real-life!

    That view of the mountain is very special at least to us it is.
    We have a niece who is married to a Japanese Chef they are now living in Australia but visit Tokyo often because Nao’s family live there.
    Ari is a solicitor who worked in Tokyo for 10 years where she met Nao and they married here in Australia.
    It’s a lot of fun camping with children but maybe being so close to water and not expecting him to get wet is a but much. Our boys would have been very wet by now.
    Have a great holiday and thank your wife and son for letting you bring us along on your fun holiday.
    Your video can now be about your Japanese life as well as your Alaskan life.
    Look forward to see many more videos of Japanese please.

      Thank you for watching and commenting! It appears Japan holds special significance in both our lives and hearts :) One of our neighbors here in Kyushu is from Australia; she married a Japanese man and has been living in Japan for many, many years now. Happy Holidays to you and yours this season!

    Can’t overstate the value of spending time with your family in the great outdoors, no matter where it is in the world. Some of my best memories are of being out with my wife and 3 kids in our old Coleman tent(still have it, kids have borrowed it for their families).

Whether it’s in the shadow of a volcano, the sands of the desert or in the backwoods of the Great Lakes/Midwest(which apparently you’re well-versed in as well👍)….getting outside and enjoying nature with your family, making memories and forging traditions to pass down through generations. • @OhashiOutdoors
      @OhashiOutdoors  11 місяців тому

      Thank you @williamhicken1206 ! We will do our best to make more videos showing what we do for fun here in the Japanese outdoors. From my experience, the majority of Japanese folks are OK with foreigners and tourists. Just today I had a young restaurant worker explain to me how he wants to learn english but is afraid to travel to America because he doesn't speak any english presently. My wife is from a smaller, more countryside town where foreigners are less common. More people stare, but almost all are friendly.

    very nice camping area, and your son is the star of the show, He is very smart. Did you get any of the earthquakes I heard about it on the news I hope you all are o.k. Do you get any snow in Japan?, Here in Wisconsin we always get a lot of snow, been shoveling the last couple of days. Hope to see you and your family in Alaska your next videos. Thanks for sharing your trip.

      Thank you, @virgilchristopherson3626 ! My family and I are well and safe here in Japan. Our area was not affected by the earthquakes. Japan gets lots of snow up north in Hokaido, and in more interior, mountainous prefectures like Nagano. There is not any snow where we live, as we are at sea level and it usually snows once a year, but does not linger long. Mt. Fuji is nearly completely covered in snow, its beautiful! Best wishes to you and yours. Thank you for watching!

    • @OhashiOutdoors
      @OhashiOutdoors  10 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for thinking of us! Yes, we are all safe and well. The earthquake was NW of us quite a bit, and we are currently far inland away from any tsunami threat. Our best wishes go out to those who were affected by the earthquake and tsunamis though

    You need to get rid of that thing in his mouth. He needs to talk. It is only for a new born. Parents need to wake up. If you want your kid to talk early get rid of the binkie.

    Lovely. And thankyou for posting this video! My daughters and I are coming from Australia, to camp tour Japan over March. We are keen on ski touring, so hope to find good spots near the snow.
    I'm looking for advice on buying a hot tent set up in Tokyo. I prefer the frame tent design, and like the Ogawa Owner Lodge model, but it's not canvas and I haven't seen one ready to take a wood stove.
    Do you have any suggestions where we can go in Tokyo to get set up?
    Oh, I'm commenting from my business account. @leighblackall to see our family camping videos

    • @OhashiOutdoors
      @OhashiOutdoors  9 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for watching and reaching out! Your trip sounds like a ton of fun. A hot tent will be exactly what you need to keep warm and comfortable if you're going to the colder areas of Japan like Nagano, Nozowa, are almost any mountainous region up north.
      We live about one hour outside of Tokyo. I'll leave a list of some of our favorite camping stores. Truth be told, we had to order our hot tent online in an effort to save a few bucks.
      -Camp Depot
      -Trefac Sports (used gear shop)
      -Liberty Base Products
      -SWEN outdoor Products
      -Wild-1 Outdoor Life Store
      We hope this helps! Best wishes to you and your family on the big trip! We'll check out your family camping channel and subscribe 😀

      @@OhashiOutdoors many thanks, that list is a big help. I'll decide between a hot tent or campervan soon. I'd prefer to spend money on things I can keep using.. but a hired campervan has a lot of benefits. Thanks again.
