@@zuki70 I'm not originally from Florida but lived there for several years. My opinion is that they're not increasing in severity but probably in frequency. There is a high probability that there is global warming but highly unlikely it is caused by man. Just natural cycles of the Earth.

As for the cause of the current (very measurable) global warming, I'm not so sure - nothing comes from nothing, and there currently are no other factors (that I see) that could cause this phenomenon, than the change in atmospheric composition caused by human civilization.
(We know from lab experiments, that CO2 indeed does work as a greenhouse gas, trapping sun energy).
Other explanations could be volcanic eruptions, sunspot activity or the like... There just aren't any of these factors in play... So, I have to admit, that no matter how much I don't want it to be true, I believe that this one is manmade. There simply aren't any other place to point the finger...
As for "natural cycles", it is true, that Earth's temperature have fluctuated wildly over time - but there have always been a *reason* for it. This time, there is no "natural" reason to suspect, so by rule of elimination, it looks to me, that the finger points at ourselves this time...
(But, well, I am no climate Einstein, I just don't believe in changes that happens out of nowhere, if you understand what I mean.
