- Pic 'N' Save Corporation (later MacFrugals) was at one time the second-largest closeout retail chain in the United States. Financial troubles caused the chain to close many stores in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

I have never heard of this chain before.Love the history of how businesses got started. Thanks Eric!.😎
What memories of 1970's, & my mothers favorite store. Two blocks from Fed·Mart (Sol Price of Fed·Mart / Price Club, the prelude to Sam Walton & Walmart/ Sam's Club) but that's another story of Retail History. I remember MacFrugals from ATL and the change over to Big Lot's.
Is it just me, because I don't find that big saving now, comparing Pic-N-Svae vs Big Lot's Prices.
I have found Big Lot's selling things more expense than regular retails stores. Right Now Hot wheels has a special 57 year edition hot-wheels, Big Lot's price $1.59 and H·E·B (grocery store) $1.18 just like the regular Hot Wheels. I enrolled in their repeat customer program , three purchase you get a $15 Purchase Credit. I only made two, I could never find anything I liked.
Eric c thanks for bringing back great memories. I love your channel
thank you my friend
Don't forget to do Polaroid for Throwback Thursday video📲👍
Truthfully, I miss Pic N Save. They always had something interesting to buy or at least look at. Then we had Moskatel's, which essentially became Michael's -- and Big Lots, which I always considered the poor man's Pic N Save.
I never saw a MacFrugal's nor a Pic N Save Bargains, but I'm kinda glad of that. I would only see them as poor substitutes for the original.
thanks for sharing your memories
It would be interesting if Big Lots! went out and the PIC and SAVE Bargains took over the empty space. I like to see one in Bakersfield.
I still refer to Big Lots as “Pic ‘n Save”. 😅
Your not alone my mother too.
