    About the game:
    X4: Foundations has been significantly enlarged with its 3.0 Update - this is the perfect time for space game enthusiasts to newly discover or revisit the biggest space sandbox this side of the galaxy! Jump into your ship and experience the brand-new storyline "A lever to move the world", introducing diplomatic missions. Become the best pilot out there with our new flight school.
    X4: Foundations is the latest title in the popular X series of space simulation / sandbox games, played as action games from a first-person perspective in a living breathing universe, with TRADE FIGHT BUILD THINK as the common tag-line. X4: Foundations is unique in its depth, simulating an entire universe of NPC ships and stations, forming a realistic economy. It consists of a huge universe, simulated from the bottom up. Hundreds of stations, and thousands of ships, trade goods among themselves. Prices change based on supply and demand; resources are mined and processed in several stages. This economy is linked directly to the simulation of major conflicts in a universe with dynamically-acting factions. Every player decision can dramatically change the future of the game universe. Step in and live your very own space adventure!

    Reason why your station is constantly short on ore:
    Driller Charlie is full of Nvidium from before you assigned it to the station, so it cannot mine. Possibly the other miners are as well, so they cannot mine anything or only a little :)
    Also just one trader is barely enough to keep up with the stations needs, be it to sell or buy stuff, so I would go with 2 to 4.

    WRT your deliver food mission: pay careful attn to the faction requirements & mission description. In this case the Argon Federation (ARG) is asking you to 'deliver supplies to /our/ stations' (my emphasis) in HC I, implying that the supplies need to be delivered specifically to ARG-tagged stations there: the trading station you keep selling to there is HAT, not ARG.. as you /finally/ spotted near the end of the vid :)
    Be aware that if you start using mods you will not be able to send out any ships on Venture missions (altho you can still build the special dock & its accoutrements)

    Nice to see you back and kicking off some new episodes. I've played X2 and X3, skipped Rebirth as like previous always have bad release versions. Will wait for X4 to get a steam sale. :)
    Looking forward to many more X4 videos with your great commentary. :)

    I personally use both the mod that affects experience gain and another one that makes the seminars available on the station markets like another commodity. It does not let you instantly get infinite units for cash because the stocks are limited like everything else, and the prices are quite high, but it does let you actually use your money to train your employees, if you fly around and buy some.
    The only thing I can say about the other mod is that unlike the base experience gain you now sometimes see them gain a level on their own.

    your research station at Grand Exchange needs storage at the actual station not the build storage. So you need to add storage in the build plan. Good to see you back love the vids.

    The most expensive station module that I have found so far that you can steal from a station is the large habitat module. I lost an actual whole fully decked out fighter to a glitch while carrying out that heist, and I STILL saved so much money that I didn't reload the save. The one module I'm looking for an opportunity to steal now is the Claytronics production module, which might be more expensive (I stopped looking, might be more expensive, I dunno. It's still MUCH more expensive than a single EMP bomb though.)

    Will be easier to fulfill the missions if you “set as active” so it will record every food stuff you deliver :) also for the main base to research you need to transfer wares with station not with building storage, that is only if you build any extra modules to the station. If you want the station to run better train manager with seminars until 2 stars and from then he will grow by himself, for better pilots use seminars until 2 stars then put them on some fighting ships ,corvettes or gunboats, at least 3 to “protect position” and give them a gate transited by Xenon fighters only, I used the one in Fires of Defeat to TwoGrand as has lower chances of K or I. They will grow to 3 stars if they are busy there or better assign them to Thor for the same place. You will have 3 stars pilots in notice no mod needed. Good luck.

    Dude! You just let that Minotaur get away?
    I've basically implemented a foolproof system for dealing with pirates, when your trading ships get harassed it will in nine times out of ten be by a medium size ship that is fully decked out with either heavy missiles or plasma cannons, the Minotaurs are kind of a curveball since they are supposed to focus on turrets, and the raider conversion just rips two turret mounts off and convert the gained space to cargo bays and crew quarters but they still are usually made for killing medium targets fast. Thus, you buy the most agile milspec fighter you can find (Or just wait for some Split pirates to attack you with one and then take theirs like I did.) And the next time they go for one of your ships you just set the GPS to "go to" their raider ship, that lets you follow the yellow arrow all the way to them even if they go off into the fog of war. Then you just fly your fighter over and take them apart, in the ships they are flying they simply cannot kill you as long as you keep dodging, so you can just blow pieces off them until they decide to abandon ship, and then you take their ship and make it part of your fleet. I've bought a total of four medium combat vessels and the rest of my fleet is salvaged wrecks and stolen pirate assets.
    If the pirates actually do decide to kill one of my pilots and somehow manage to get the drop on them I do the same thing but also blow up their escape pods, sure it wrecks relations but if you mess with my people I wreck your face, the Bondsmages have got nothing on me.

      Thanks. I was wondering and had considered that possibility. So do you think it works to reshuffle the universe? How do you find the game compared to X3?

    • @YorkshirePirate
      @YorkshirePirate 4 роки тому

      @@david8157 I think it helps bring variety to what could otherwise be a stale part of the game. The X Universe lore is really detailed, which is a shame since it barely gets mentioned in the games themselves. X4 is a great game, well worth your time, but I think it lacks some of the intricacy of X3 in the way it goes about things. The ability to get up and walk around is a huge game changer which adds a lot, even if stations are a bit bare. Also, we're still missing the Boron and the Terrans which are apparently coming in future expansions. I'm 100+ hours in and still playing.

      Yes it is a shame about the lore. Egosoft has almost zero ability in that dept. Their storytelling is abysmal.
      I expect the game will develop a lot over the next couple of years so hopefully they will include the other races and deepen the gameplay and mechanics.

    Research in Grand Exchange uses materials in station storage, not build storage, and your station has no storage

    Why do you want level 3 pilots? Level 0 pilots can do the same work.
    Using a station allow you to create autotraders at level 0, plop down a station with dock and container storage, no production and go into logistics and add wares and you have 100% the same as a autotrader.
    The level 2 distribute wares work better than autotrader (But maybe it's bugged), it will roam around the universe with no location restrictions.

    If I only could use one mod, the incresed crew train speed would be it. I think the increased training speed is a bit too high with the mod but cant think running the game without it.
    Some struggle to progress is fine but it needs to be balanced. Say after all work to get the 3 star guy he just get sniped by a xenon passing by :)

    Dude mining Nvidium makes the most money. Just buy a mineral miner and set the behavior to auto sector mine and send it to a region to mine Nvidium. Once you get about 6 ships doing that watch the money roll in. Just make sure to tell the ships to update trading.

    the increasing impression that i have is that people in x foundations seem to keep being the biggest cheap sticks in the universe, never properly crewing their ships, always buying the cheapest crew they find, but then expect the the most efficient, fast and smartest behavior from the ships.

    I'll give you what i think is a very good piece of advice here. You are worrying too much about things that are menial. A freighter trading of food supplies or some shit, it doesn't matter. You'll be burned out way before you are able to do anything relevant. It's just the make believe, boring way of doing things. You see no action, you don't change anything, just get stuck on making a few cents here and there.
    The ZYA Split are enemies to you and ARG, use that. Search, board their ships, they're good. It's a good, exciting way of life. Microing stupid traders on food stuff, nope. Look for Plunderers, board them.
    Boarding takes planning, preparation, skill, and it's a great payout. And it's something often overlooked in the game, no one talks about it on the Steam forums, which is where the most players will end up. And will like seeing here.
    You have a Cerberus and you'll need some extra boarding power, could use that Demeter as a troop carrier.
    Just give it a try, you'll like it :)
    It looks like you're playing the game as what everyone thinks it is, trade, trade, trade. Won't ask you to trust me, but keep that in mind :)

    • @samnickerson9255
      @samnickerson9255 4 роки тому

      The reason : It is near impossible to have a real life and figure out all that goes into boarding. The cumbersome menus and mechanics, all wrapped up in something that will most likely turn into a SLOG waiting for a saved game reload MANY times. More risk better payout if you have the stamina for it. Many of us play very casual. I for one DIG these videos. I thought Eve had a learning curve. This game makes Eve look trivial.

    • @DyingCr0w
      @DyingCr0w 4 роки тому

      @@samnickerson9255 It's really not that hard. You can't board with a starter ship, just use anything that has enough guns and is good enough. I strongly suggest a frigate. There are things to go through, defense drones, laser towers, all those have to be shot down.
      For a start, you will need some ships that can carry crew. Magpies, some freighter(s), anything you can get your hands on that holds some crew.
      Rule 1#: Go in alone. Dont want stupid. Really, go in alone. Disable the target, THEN call in. Shit happens.
      Rule #2 Board on neutral or enemy space. Neutral wont give a shit, enemy you have to ride them to a safe distance, so you mark wont get attacked by locals.
      Rule #3 Dont board ships friendly to the local faction. Waste of time, unless you wipe all defense.
      1) IF it's a plunderer, scan it. that will reveal it's true SCA identity.
      2) Be aware of you surroundings
      3) Destroy the engines; Get one to
