Hi just seen the easy rider cafe I was a regular there most evening's. I am John Rooney my mates were scotch Billy & shotgun alex all greaser/rockers had some greats in plus the Catholic club up stairs thanks for the memories. Moss Side born live in St Anne's nroff Blackpool now.
Me and our Pauline went in the caffe used to be called Jim’s caffe and we went to the catholic club. Memories x I lived in crosscliffe street and she lived in platt street x the good old days

On Darcy street the coal yard we use to go for a bag of nutty slack when you walked through the archway office on the right side walking to the coal pile there was a small black bear we all used to stroke it the bear was very friendly sadly it had a metal ring around its neck. Think it whent to belle vue zoo thankfully it played with the coal yard dogs. JohnRooney

Yes, I remember it, I think some of the cream metal cans of herbs and remedies got transferred from Alec Rd, at the previous shop you could get proper Dandelion and Burdock. I used to buy various herbal remedies like kola nuts, a bit like speed, and damiana? A quick google search says it's a pre-viagra male aphrodisiac, maybe my memory fails me, I didn't need to buy it for my libido then! I think we smoked it. Did the shop on Withington Rd get sold on? I remember it lasting for a while, I walk up and down the road nearly every day but can't remember which one it was. It was small. Great aromas.
@@joehiggs100 they were very pale green had to paint then at times there was about 200 tons some old oxo tins. I at times made mixtures up comfort herd was the most 1 sold 1oz was a sweetie bag full ordered 2kls each fortnight. It's gone all fancy today unlike trusted herbal remedies every day use. Even deadly night shade had to be sold with 3/4 other herbs to reduce the toxins to safe levels my ex mother in law was 1 of the best herbalist going Manchester university on certain occasions ask for her knowledge. Medical students were regularly spend time watching listening taking notes. During the 2and ww2 from Burnley parts of Cheshire. The temprance bar wilmslow rd was owned by her dad William pickles and his cousin wilfred pickles . William was at the battle of the somme he was a Sargent awarded 2 military medals +several more he got gassed like most soldiers. Police stn fire stn horses a the back also police dogs. Denmark rd market plus the school with playground top floor mr Singh's corner shop 3 steps up to the door thanks for bringing back the memories. Herbal shop was the pickles family temprance shop Tony's carpets next door little alex land lord frank tansys there for years I worked on moss side shopping centre with john laing. Use too hang about with animal he was a hell's angel based at ten ten stockport road cafe really enjoyed his company he borrowed a police bike from wilmslow rd early 1970s tiger650 dont think it was returned nr the bike shop used to drinking in the red lion Clermont rd rusholme. Sadly passed on I believe used to catch the 53 to Stockport rd walk down towards slade lane to 10-10 few brews there. It's on a BBC programme about hells angels respect to them. The Denmark pub had a music up stairs dancehall music when my gran lived at monton st next to the temple facing the foundery grate makers. JohnRooney
Brilliant, I only managed to pass by it once when it was closed. I heard tales about how it was a great pub.

Bike probably ended up at Handleys on Claremont Road, they sold ex police bikes.
