You should use a hair dryer to melt the glue on the back off the stickers and then peel them off because its sooooo much easier and leaves no sticky residue on the book.

I HIGHLY recommend buying the mylar book covers from a company called demco. You can order specific sizes and they come precut so it literally takes like 30 seconds to put them on a book. Super simple

Awesome video! I love your content. ❤️ You have such a nice Stephen King collection and I've been thinking of doing archival covers for some of my vintage books too. What I do for the stickers on my used books is I warm them up first with a blow dryer, then gently peel them off. If there's any goo left over, I used a gel hand sanitizer. It's a little thicker, not as liquid, so it doesn't just seep right into the dust-jacket/cover. I just rub it on the sticky stuff with my fingers, then immediately wipe it off with a napkin. It's worked well so far!

Use 100% ethanol from the pharmacy and paper towels. Let the sticker soak up the alcohol and then gently rub the stickers with the paper towels in circles until the residue is gone.

Hi Morgan, you asked about removing stickers. If the book has a clear plastic cover and the sticker is on that please try a product named ‘stick away’ but I wouldn’t use it directly on the patterned covered or it can remove the colour. Hope this helps x

For the stickers to come off easily you can spray a piece of paper towel with some clear Ajax (or probably any clear window cleaner I guess) and scrub them off. It has worked for me at least.

Use lighter fluid to remove stickers. I own a book store and have been collecting 20 years and it leaves no residues or stain marks. Soak the sticker in lighter fluid. Lighter fluid dries like vapor leaving no markings or stains.

Unfortunately, there’s not much one can do with removing stickers from those papery covers. I agree with the hairdryer idea, that does loosen the residue, but it’s still iffy especially for older stickers. Goo Gone is still my favorite thing to use on glossy cover though, or even cooking oil. Great video!

Just another reason for me to buy more new books heheheh
