Don't throw out your corn cobs when you are processing corn put the corns in a pot and fill it up with water boil the corn cobs for about an hour all the sugar and milk on the cob will come out. After one hour pulled the cobs out and measure 6 cups of the Jews after you strain it through a cheese cloth. But it come to a boil for 5 minutes add 2 packages of pectin let a boil for 5 minutes and then add 6 cups of sugar Boil for 5 minutes keep stirring Stir Stir Stir. That is corn cob jelly as a Carmel honey taste and it's so yummy I add cinnamon and red pepper flake One cup of pineapple crushed to mine and mine tastes like a fireball Cinnamon spicy jelly
One year in our garden we got 500 ears of corn my children were little they said we never worked so hard that year in the garden picking up corn when dad picked it I thought well yall learned something that year gardening is a family effort I learned it when I was young to from my parents
Don’t throw those cobs away! You can make corn cob broth. Use it to make corn chowder, tortilla soup, other soup bases. There’s a recipe on UA-cam to make it. It is absolutely delicious!
And after you've cooked the cobs for the broth, dry them out completely and stack them in a box by the fireplace. They make great kindling to get your fire started on cold winter nights!
You will not regret learning to can. It is so wonderful to have canned foods, especially when things are not in season. I have canned since I was in teens. With that said when I am done canning I am ready to be done for the year. LOL
So funny...I was canning corn and had a question. I had been watching your egg freezing video and figured I would check to see if you had one on corn, and here I am! Your teaching is super approachable and I am a new fan!
Thank you for your video, I am an old hand at canning, but after my first ( Failed ) attempt 45 years ago never would try it again, until now! Thanks again!
A bundt cake pan works well when cutting corn. Put the narrow piece of the cob in the middle whole of the pan and all cuttings fall into the pan and easy clean up!
I finally was able to buy my corn for the season! 5 dozen bag for $12! But! My freezer is packed full! This is the year that I try canning corn again. 😬 double stacked canner full done, praying as I take off the lid that the corn stayed yellow.....and it did! Thank you! Second and last canner full, stayed yellow! 26 pints! So happy!
Mrs Heart wanted to tell you I love watching your video and I have a tip for you When my husband went to school I took his books for auto repair and sliced them open and put them into those page protectors and then into a notebook your cookbook will thank you lol keep up the good work 🙂
Lol I have that book and the next small book they have. I also got the bigger books. When I get ready to can anything I like watching these videos in case there’s anything new and to make sure I don’t forget anything. Thank you!! Another great channel is whipperhill hollar. She I think has all the older canning recipes.
Get yourself a board cut a circular whole in the middle big enough to push a cob through then place a metal bunt pan with whole centered place a garbage pail under it. Push corn cob through the center of bunt pan, cob drops in pail and corn falls to the inside of the bunt pan. Great when harvesting large amounts. Usually we have some one scrapping the juices from cob for cream corn.
Nice thank you so much for sharing. Last autumn I canned beets what you do is you cook your beets remove the skin cut them in small piece, put them in the jars. On the stove you boil 4 cups of water you add 2 cups of white vinegar and 1 cup of sugar, boil the mix until the sugar dissolved. And then put the mixture in the jars and put your lids tightened the bands and once they are cooled you put them in a cold room.
Try using a bundt pan when cutting the corn off the corn. Put the end of the corn in the hole in the middle to hold cob steady while cutting corn off the cob. Then the corn falls in the bundt pan.
When I'm cutting corn off the cob I use a bunt cake pan, put corn on top of the circle securely this will make corn easyto cut off cob and corn will go into bunt cake pan well.
I really liked your vid ---- You are right that the kernels go everywhere. For me, I found that the cob was easier to keep stable by cutting the tip off so that the cob is flush to the cutting board.
Hey I have that same turquoise bucket but I use mine for mixing soil when I’m potting plants. There is nothing better then farm life! When I cut corn off the cob, I use my Bundt pan, stick an end in the centre hole and start cutting, the corn falls into the pan then empty it when need be.
My garden is FINALLY producing. We got it in late. Up north here in South Dakota 😎. I was wondering do you get your gauge checked yearly on your canner and replace the seal? I noticed when you were showing the nipple and release valve your gauge was at about four pounds? Maybe I wasn't seeing it right. We go to our local AG extension office for pressure gauge checks. God bless you sweetie! I'm still so thankful about the radish pods!! It got hot so fast all my radishes went to seed. I picked a bunch for my garden salad last night!!❤️❤️
Thank you so much! I love your videos and today I'll be canning my first corn! Hopefully it will be as easy as you make it look! I also have frozen eggs in the freezer thanks to you. lol Love this!
I love your videos. I'm a newbie and I feel so confident after watching you. What temp do you use when jars are in the oven? Are they wet or dry when they go in. Thanks for the lessons
Thumbs up on the video. I am still just watching but real soon I will get started . I probably wont grow a garden ( maybe a patio size one) but our local grocery stores put big ears of sweet corn on sale ( 10 for 1.00) such a bargain!! Krogers had it on sale for Labor day. beautiful corn! So I can get the fresh corn very easily...to can... You are the best love your attitude and style . I get behind and always catch up on the videos... Love xoxo
Just in time! We're doing corn today with my new canner. You are truly inspirational. I haven't pressure canned in 40 years! Went back to canning because of all the additives and overflowing garden.
Love your videos!!! Just a hint when you cute ur corn off babe. Put ur cob in the top of a bunt cake pan. It helps you hold your cob. The corn falls into the cake pan. It also helps to milk the corn. I don’t know if you know what that means. I live in eastern KY. We have crazy sayings but we take the side of the spoon and scrape the cob after the corn has been cut off the cob. It gives more juice. Easy peasy. I also wanted to kno what kind of corn you use? My mammaw froze and canned sweet cream style corn. I love your canning videos. So I thought you may know. Thank you cause I know these videos are hard to make. I just wanted you to know how much it means to us. Keep up the great work. 💕😃
Thank you for your easy to follow Ball Blue Book method of canning! I have canned for years, my first year in canning our very own home grown butter and sugar sweet corn. 15 pints!
I have always done freezer corn, but I think next year I am going to try canning it. I want to say thank you for showing people how to use a pressure cooker. I have never bought one because I was scared to use them because people say how they can explode. You have helped my confidence. I am going to go buy one for next year. I am new to your channel. Loving it. :)
Hi, I am new to canning ( learned 28 years ago from mother-in-law) agree with you on the new ball book, it confused me when I did my strawberry jam. Yes i felt i ruined it, but listening to you I see that, Okay it was my fault, but new book, had to many different choices. Also I thought its only making 4 pints, with all this time. I messed up and tried doubling, would they would not firm up. So now I watch your videos, follow your suggestions and so far doing much better. Chicken done, beef done, next butter and corn is coming in. Praises and Blessings Karla
I agree with you about the new ball book! I was equally disappointed 😞 Should we blanch the corn first to prevent browning? I heard that somewhere 🤔... Thanks so much for this video!! Love ya and be safe ❤️
Great job on canning corn. i love me some corn but the corn don't last long in my house but one of these days i'm going too can corn all day maybe that will help. tfs
I sell veggies and my friend grows corn that's the bomb like eating candy raw I grow tomatoes etc but I get my cantelopes corn watermelons pumpkins cause he grows the best and I'm a girl that grew up eating field corn
I do the same as you but I put a smaller holed bundt pan in the tub then stand the end of the corn cob on the hole in the bundt pan to stabilize it and get busy......... it saves so much time!!!!
I have a question for u when it come to gardening. Our garden went to poop bc we already have custody of our now 4yr old, but now 2 more was add temporary until the end of October. Ages are 3 & 2yrs old. Question is: how do u do all that gardening with kids that young? They are my grandbabies. I never caned until about 4-5yrs ago after we bought our home bc depended on the stores bc I was couponing like crazy. I’ve been even trying to crochet blankets with no success bc they fight all the time. I say I’m gonna wait until they go back to my daughter before I go back to now cleaning out the garden for winter time. Any suggestions instead of wait on hubby to get home to go do picking. Corn look awesome & luv ur channel
Lady Homestead Heart please explain how would you know which foods can go in water bath and which must be pressure canned if we dont have the Ball book? I ordered a water bath canner and 3 different size ball jars last night. I'm so excited to get started canning items from my small backyard raised garden.
FAM. I wish I was there to get those cobs, I would be on the side making corn cob jelly.. It taste like honey. Or boil it and make a quick roux, with a few kernels for a quick meal. Nothing like fresh corn. Well, nothing much. Wink.Lol, Much Respect
How much water 💦 💧 is in the canner? At a glance it looked like the water was very low. Exactly how much do you use for the quart jars / pint jars....DOUBLE STACKED???

wow, thank you for this tip! I will try this next year
Great idea. I am going to try this next year. Thank you for sharing. What do you use your jelly on?
I will try this!!!! Thanks!!!!
I love having no waste! Dried cobs can be toilet paper in "rough" times. Lol
Thank you. That sounds so good. I'll bet it's wonderful on biscuits
I use an electric knife to cut corn off cob. Really helps it go faster.
I did it! I’m sooo excited and I heard those lovely PINgS!
I am such in love with your channel tomorrow I am showcasing your channel at the end of my video .Take care !!! Tessie
Thank you Homestead Tessie!!! That's very kind of you to say. I'll be watching your video! =)
Your voice is so soothing. I play your videos in the back ground when I'm stressed at work. Love your channel.
I so wish there were more young people like you. Your mama must be so proud.
Started my adventure today. A little nervous, but with your video, I feel much better! Wish me luck! Thanks so much! 😍😍😍
One year in our garden we got 500 ears of corn my children were little they said we never worked so hard that year in the garden picking up corn when dad picked it I thought well yall learned something that year gardening is a family effort I learned it when I was young to from my parents

yesterday canned 41 pints corn. put 2 cups in each jar looked great smelled like pop corn in the house, bought for 5 at 1.00.
The corn looks delicious. I’m a newbie gardener who hopes to be canning soon. Thanks for sharing!
You will not regret learning to can. It is so wonderful to have canned foods, especially when things are not in season. I have canned since I was in teens. With that said when I am done canning I am ready to be done for the year. LOL
I use the backside of the knife to scrape the milk from the cob after cutting. I was taught to do this back in the day.
Place a small, fresh dish towel on your plate, to secure corn tip- works like a charm. I LOVE raw corn! You are a delight!
So funny...I was canning corn and had a question. I had been watching your egg freezing video and figured I would check to see if you had one on corn, and here I am! Your teaching is super approachable and I am a new fan!
I am binge-watching your videos.
Learning so much from the gardening 👍
Use a bundt pan put the corn in the hole and cut it straight off the cob its so easy
Paulette Smith grandma did that!
I’ll have to try that idea thanks
Thank you for this idea. I’m trying to get all the ideas I can before I start this afternoon
That’s a genius idea!
you have opened my world and I am excited to return (after too many years) to mother earth. thank you.

I really enjoy the fun and practical cannng videos like corn red potatoes and string beans
My Mom taught me to use the center piece from an angel food cake pan to hold the cob, and use an electric knife to cut off the corn. Fast, sturdy.
Thank you, doing my first batch today, this gave me confidence to try it! You're a great teacher!
Lol I have that book and the next small book they have. I also got the bigger books. I remember helping my Grandma can. Nice to see it's not a lost art! ❤
We grew a lot of corn this year, so I'm refreshing my memory 😊 Hoping Mr H is feeling better, still praying for you both. 🙏💓
Wonderful! Can wait to try. off to Market Monday Morning to buy Corn😀

Use a bunt pan or angel food cake pan to hold your corn cob when cutting it, it will not slip around like on a plate.
Hello I love your videos
I use a Bundt pan to rest the small end of corn in and cut it that way
Just an idea for ya
Bless y’all
Put a Bundt pan in your container. Stick the corn in the hole and cut off the kernels. It holds it steady and the kernels fall off into the pan.

Please do some cream style corn. Please. I am a new subscriber and I absolutely love you and your hubby

Why you don't do it on water bath pot?
I dont understand that pot .. 🤔😌
I ordered my book and can't wait to get it. :)
I just love your down home videos but have to ask do you grow everything you can or do you get from the farmers market?
Thanks you are a joy, very good
Thanks for showing how to can whole kernel corn! Is canning creamed corn ok? I always put some in my freezer but would love to have some canned.
Use back of knife to scrap out meat as well! Best part!
FAM. I wish I was there to get those cobs, I would be on the side making corn cob jelly.. It taste like honey. Or boil it and make a quick roux, with a few kernels for a quick meal. Nothing like fresh corn. Well, nothing much. Wink.Lol,

i saw someone using the inside of a bundt pan. set the corn cob on the top of the center hole and the corn fell into the pan - too cool
Love it! Thank you!
You did a great job
You’re amazing
Great job, looks easy ,I'll try it.👍👍👍
🌽use a Bundt pan, place the narrow end of the cob into the hole/opening of the pan. The cut corn will fall into the “ well “ of the pan!! Less mess!
No wonder I went to the store and all the fresh corn was GONE🙃. Can’t wait to can me some 🌽🌽🌽🌽
How much water 💦 💧 is in the canner? At a glance it looked like the water was very low. Exactly how much do you use for the quart jars / pint jars....DOUBLE STACKED???
Very informative thanks for the video!
Could u do a video of cream corn thank u.oh yes I love u both
How do you keep your corn from turning dark? When I pressure can it, it turns dark! So, I ended up just freezing my corn.
Stick the big end of the corn on top of a Bundt pan and cut the kernels off. I use my 40 yr old electric knife. All the corn falls into the pan 😊
