Kaleidoscope Kayley oh my god please
Please. Please. Pretty please
What a cliffhanger! This reminded me of Dickon from the Secret Garden.
Do it! Do it! Please I beg of you do it!
@@katybeaumont Yes I was reminded about him too.
ah, so thats why he put on his best shirt and changed his necktie... cute
I love how you're creating fictional narratives within your "getting dressed" guides. :)
Judging by her smile he wont be an unmarried gardener for long
Awwww! Gardener got himself a girlfriend.
and im here, single af
That lightened up my day
I do love that the gardener still has dirt under his fingernails when he hands the flowers to the house maid. Makes it that much more realistic.
Reminds me of my dad.
And now I need to have a good old sniffle...
He's a man who works for a living.
I remembered first meeting my husband. He shyly cleansed his hands on the sides of his jeans and tries to hide them behind. 🙌 We married some 7 years later 🥰😘😍
I came here to comment just that!
I am screaming at how cute this is. Happy Valentine's Day, historical fashion people!
The caps worn by the "common man" were incredibly cute back then - so much nicer than today's baseball caps!
Stonework Megapup called Flat Caps, my Dad always wore one, they go in and out of fashion over here all the time so I think we can call them a ‘classic’ of British apparel.
I don't like baseball caps. Nothing says "I never got past adolescence" quite like a backwards baseball cap on a grown man.
Agreed
Karen K 🙄
Agreed and you don't end up a walking billboard.
I don't even know this boy but I want such good things for him
Seeing him wash his hands I cannot imagine how cold the water would be in the winter
louise lill Jesus Christ your right
Snow is pretty decent at scrubbing away dirt...
Picked Jerusalem artichokes once while there was snow on the ground and probably below freezing, but no ground frost (that would have been a different beast altogether). Don't recommend the experience, but then I'm not exactly used to that kind of stuff.
Mostly just shoveling snow in the winter, I think. Plus the water would have to be warmed up a bit so it doesn’t become ice.
Thank you for mentioning how many changes of clothes (or lack thereof) he may have had. It helps so much to get an idea of how hard-wearing his clothes had to be, and what variety of experience (or lack thereof) his life may have had.
This makes me tear up because this is literally how my grandma and grandpa met. My grandpa was a gardener for my grandma's father and one day when he went for a break, he took some gumamela flowers from the garden and gave it my grandma sneakily... I love you lola and lolo. ❤
What a wonderful story!
❤
In German we say "sag's durch die Blume" - say it through the flower, which may come from the practice!
0:49 I'm surprised you fit that much alliteration in one sentence XD
When he brought the posey out from behind his back, to present to the girl he was visiting, I couldn’t help it - I just burst into tears! 😭 I’m a very sentimental man, but that really was particularly beautiful - very sweet and relatable, I thought.
I’m looking forward to part two!
I love that you featured an everyday person. I'm an avid gardener and adore this theme. Thank you!
Haha I was right!! It was a young man after the heart of the maid in the dickens video!!!
Leah Sauter well guessed ;)
Leah Sauter, this is interesting, what do you mean?
Katie C they posted his picture beforehand and asked for guesses as to who he was
So sweet!! I would totally watch a whole movie or series about these two!!
So lovely...I can't wait to see what happens next! Kate looked radiant in this as well!
My favourite piece of clothing resulted from a war. Thank you lord cardigan...
Maybe not the best to comment on this video lol but I’d love to see a video on what women wore during pregnancy. I’m interested in both obstetrics and history so it’d just be absolutely lovely to see! :)
I felt so bad when the man who answered the door closed it, because I thought he wasn't going to let the gardener see the lady.
Aww, this was so heartwarming ❤️, perfect for Valentine’s Day
He’s not so lonely anymore!
So adorable
When her face lit up and she smiled, so cute, I melted. 😊
This is some wholesome content, thank you so much for warming my heart
How beautifully these little stories are being told around the history of clothing. With a great love for details. The trousers being fixed beneath the knees for freer movement...everything makes so much sense. These little glimpses into history are precious to me.
I'm totally invested in this narrative, it's so cute!! (also I low-key want to wear those clothes, they look comfy)
That is the cutest thing ever! Happy Valentine's Day!
I would have really liked to see him actually get dressed from scratch! This one doesn't really show much of how the garments were constructed, nor what undergarments were like at the time.
That was so sweet. I'm 35 and have never received flowers in my entire life.
What a sweet, beautiful video for this day of love. Also, was very surprised that the gardeners were not a part of the rest of the staff but housed and fed in a completely different area.
Simpleness like these makes me love period romances! They feel very genuine and real!
I really like that cardigan, is there a pattern for this anywhere?
To answer my own question (weird A.F, that’s meLol!) I found the pattern in Centenary Stitches edited by Elizabeth Lovick published by Northern Lace Press, Orkney, Scotland. If you go onto the video of the Working Class Edwardian Suffragette they provide a link in the drop down box under the film. Unfortunately there is no pattern in the book for the gorgeous cardigan the girl in the film wears,,..
we all see the fancy tuxedos and gowns in vintage themed series but this video remind me of the other side of hard life before. 😔
Legit I want that gardener's outfit, that looks so cozy
It’s ok, we can’t live without videos featuring Kate either.
This video is not only educational, but also so so touching! Thank you!
Having been to so many beautiful walled gardens, it's so interesting to learn more about the gardeners who used to maintain them. What a wonderful video!
Beautiful videos and productions. It is interesting to see how these people lived. Nice!!
I could just hear the smile in the narrator’s voice as she envisioned a startled mouse trying to dart up the gardener’s trouser leg
I never knew how much I wanted to know about what a 19th century gardener wore. Thanks CrowsEye🙏🏻
How dare you make me get invested in another Victorian love story lol. So adorable!
This is so heartwarming!
Watching these videos makes me think that we have lost our humanity. Now, only bare glimpses exist as reminders of what we were.
When you mentioned that he put on his best shirt I knew what's up!
oh that’s so sweet. makes me miss my own rough-handed boy
Absolutely delightful film, informative, sweet and beautifully filmed!
The primrose bit was so sweet!!
Can't wait for 'to be continued'!!! 😍
What a sweet ending 🥰💛
Oh my goodness. My great-great-so-many-greats grandfather was a young victorian gardener at an estate, where he met his wife, years before he eventually emigrated to the US. He is a family hero and I appreciate this peek into what his life might have been like. It made me teary eyed thinking about him. Thanks for this video
Ah so adorable!
I love these getting dressed videos!
Absolutely love these videos. Would you ever do one regarding doctor's clothing?
Informative and utterly adorable; please continue this little love story. 😍
This video is so sweet! Just what we needed today!
This one gets me. Thank you!
Yay! I like how you guys have been covering more men too lately! Now we can see all the clothes!
awww this is so exciting !!!
Absolutely adore! You should do more of these... with these characters getting married and the language of love symbolizing the flowers that they use maybe with a rival and then during their wedding.
Friday evening. . .long week. . .so calming and charming. Thanks.
For they’re awfy lads, the bothy lads
Gin they get what they’re seekin
They’ll pack a kist an they’ll gang an enlist
An’ leave the lassies greetin
An old song about bothy boys in Scotland! Look up Claire Hastings singing it on youtube, she's absolutely wonderful and it's such a great song! It's about bothy lads who would get together with girls then go to war and leave the girls behind, pregnant. There's a slightly different take on the valentine's day theme for you!!
That’s so interesting - thanks for sharing!
Fabulous! This is too cute, now I’m completely invested in these characters!
A cord waistcoat sounds like a treat right now. Might go get some corduroy! Also WHAT a cute narrative!
Aww this is so warm and sweet!
I think we can all agree that we love Kate so much!
Back to watch this again, as beautiful as it was the first time 2 years ago. :3
Most excellently done! I can't wait for the next episode.
Beautiful as always. Could watch these all the time!
I want to make everything he's wearing. I've always been a fan of the language of flowers, too. All-in-all, another lovely video.
Such a sweet story, perfect for today! Can't wait for the next part!
Thanks Livvy - have a wonderful weekend : )
The absolute detail you put in these videos. This was the sort of thing I needed starting 10 years ago when I started writing stories set in increasingly modern periods...
i wonder if the next video will be common peoples wedding attire :)
I'm literally sitting here SOBBING I love this
This is so cute!! Hope they’re happy together :’)
She has the sweetest smile
This is so adorable!!
Fascinating. My great-great grandfather was a gardener in England before he immigrated to the US. I long wondered about his life. He was slightly after this time, but not by much (born 1860s.) I wonder if his father was also a gardener, as he would have been the age of this man in the video in the 1850s. Thank you for bringing history to life and helping me imagine what my ancestors lives were like.
So happy to see Kate in this video! This was lovely
Even gardeners in 1850s got himself a lover, what's my excuse😔
So sweet!
I love these videos they’re so interesting!
Wow. Why was I on the verge of tears at the end.
Beautiful!
I want his entire aesthetic. I love corduroy so so much
That’s so romantic!
This is so sweet 🖤
That was as informative as it was cute 🥰🥰
This was absolutely darling.
This video awakened some sort of maternal instinct in me. I want nothing more than to take care of this boy and make sure he’s well fed and clothed at all times.
This is SO SWEET I'm actually tearing up
This was incredibly sweet.
The story is so cute, I love it!
This is adorable I love it so much
I've never seen these two in my life before, but I ship it
Ahhh cute I love these videos
Lovely! And to know they tied the knee string to avoid mice!!!
