  • Video showing the difference in shifting after replacing the one way bearings. After the video was captured, we discovered that pumping the brakes makes for very smooth shifting with little to no effort.

    The only fix to this problem is called the outie seat hump where you rapidly hump the seat to make it go in gear, works every time

      I do that too. Or I bump the throttle and let her slam into gear. Lol

    I removed the belt to eliminate the bearing idea. Still shifts hard. I think the problem is in the transmission.

    Why didn’t you simply adjust your linkage rod ?

      Would that cause a hard shift?

      The shift linkage adjustment is only on the g2 outlanders. The g1 outlanders don't have a linkage adjustment.

    Operation of vehicle says to always apply rear brake while shifting gears..Theres a reason why pressing the brakes makes it slip in and out of gear..It was designed this way I think.
