I live at Nurpur. I love this song. I think the ancestor Tahira Syed must be belonged to the vicinity of Haripur or Nurpur. The tragic partition of the country compelled many persons to leave their homeland. Very painful. But the word is Katoch not Baloch.

Those People fighting here for language , Let me request you not to cage a language in particular boundary. Languages flows like water, they change gradually between two continuos points. The region of Nurpur,Haripur(HimachalPradesh) mentioned in the song are near to Jammu region of Jammu Kashmir. This whole region, though divided by boundaries between states is a cultural continuum. The song is a shared heritage of people of this region :)
Originally Its NOT BALOCH in the song its KATOCH who are the rajput inhabitants of nurpur and haripur region in kangra, irony is after independence the singers from Pakistan changed it to BALOCH, which have no historical or geographical association with nurpur or haripur

I know at least two Haripurs, one Norpur, a Berote and many Dannas etc ... these are the ancient names of the places and similarity is by virtue of the similar language and culture of the region.

@@qurratulainzehra8760 yes i know there is a connection in all these languages and i agree on it like sanskrit is known to be main source for different languages in Indian subcontinent . I think that one should respect all languages/ dialects (it may be Punjabi,Kangri or Dogri,potohari) rather than classifying it by own will and not considering the facts .

Not dogri song but pahadi song from himachal pradesh. Language is kangri mandeali which is similar to dogri but not same. all places mentioned here are in himachal not in jammu or punjab.
I live at Nurpur. I love this song. I think the ancestor Tahira Syed must be belonged to the vicinity of Haripur or Nurpur. The tragic partition of the country compelled many persons to leave their homeland. Very painful. But the word is Katoch not Baloch.

Those People fighting here for language , Let me request you not to cage a language in particular boundary. Languages flows like water, they change gradually between two continuos points. The region of Nurpur,Haripur(HimachalPradesh) mentioned in the song are near to Jammu region of Jammu Kashmir. This whole region, though divided by boundaries between states is a cultural continuum. The song is a shared heritage of people of this region :)
It should be 'pal bhar' not 'pal pal'. 'Pal bhar' means ' at least for a moment' whereas 'pal pal ' means 'every moment'.
Originally Its NOT BALOCH in the song its KATOCH who are the rajput inhabitants of nurpur and haripur region in kangra, irony is after independence the singers from Pakistan changed it to BALOCH, which have no historical or geographical association with nurpur or haripur
You sound logical: Anyway the lyrics as she sings are : MahiA Balochay da, Peehay baloochay Da ( the lover of balooch) ; Thana ( police station) Balochay Da... Lyric here are not pointing to a Baluchi rather it is the name of another Pahari Village of Poonch in Azad Jammu Kashmir: interestingly ..... names of Pahari villages across the Dogri Pahari belt from Kangra to Hazara are similar... I know at least two Haripurs, one Norpur, a Berote and many Dannas etc ... these are the ancient names of the places and similarity is by virtue of the similar language and culture of the region.

Her mother the famous Malika pukhraj was a famous singer of Jammu in Hari Singh's Court. She left Jammu during riots of 1947. When lakhs of Muslims were killed and thrown away from Jammu massacre.
