Orient Bambino (~100-150$) Seiko 5 series (50-150$) Citizen Eco Drive's (75-...$) Seiko skx007 or skx009 (200-250$) Orient Symphony (75-150$) Timex expedition scout (30-40$) Timex weekenders (30-50$) Vostok Amphibia (50$) Tissot classic dream quartz (150$) Skagen watches (50-100$) Spend your money on one of these real respected watch brands instead of those bad quality chinese fashion watches like Armani, Diesel, The Fifth...
Seiko 5 is very versatile and come in a variety of styles and colors and there automatic, lume, day date ,wr,hardlex cyrstal, and shock prof. The seiko 5 lineup is simply the best bang for buck watch on the planet.
I've been collecting watches for some time and really enjoy them. For me, having one's own watch was a sign of becoming an adult and represented a major turning point in my life. I could spend more money on watches than I do. However, for personal reasons I choose not to. I don't believe in owning a watch that costs more than my car, for example. But, any watch I wear has to take outrageous abuse on the job. The watches I currently buy, in alphabetical order (not quality order), are Casio, Citizen, Pulsar, Seiko and Timex. The first watch I bought with my own money was a Timex hand wind model. They are no longer made. All current Timex watches are quartz models. A couple years ago I had a Timex forcibly torn off my wrist and slammed face down on a concrete floor. Not only was it not even scratched, but it is still running two years later. To me, watches are not only an essential tool for modern life but also a fashion accessory. They don't have to be expensive to be good, just well made and sensibly priced. Enjoy them for what they are, cheap entertainment and a practical tool.
Timex Weekender 40mm, the weekender fairfield and the weekender chronograph are all nice watches for under $100 and with the money you save you can buy different straps to change the look and feel of the watch.
Good watches last the lifetime. It does make sense to invest in expensive watch. You can wear it with every outfit for several decades. You do not need 10 bad watches, you need just 1 really good one.
haha yes the Timex weekender is legitimately the loudest watch in the world. I remember having an exam and the room was dead silent except for it's outrageous tick. Still love the watch though!
you can get a real watch Vostok Amphibia - a mechanical automatic divers watch which is robust for about £40gpb on ebay. much better than any of this quartz crap.
Mondaine, Rotary and Tissot all have good looking watches. The durability of that gold coating on $100 watches will be crap. One rule in watch is avoiding golden watch if its price is below $1000
From your initial points against the watch enthusiasts... You clearly don't care about how the new minimalist fashion watch companies like The Fifth and Danial Wellington use mass produced cheap materials an labour from China to create cheap generic watches, then print their logo on the face. You don't know, or more likely, you don't care. Typically, these watches cost around $10-$12 to make, and sell for $200. You don't care that you're misinforming the youth who are just starting out, saving up their money for a watch, and get suckered in to buying poor quality goods just so you make money with your 'sponsored video' and 'promo codes' that give you EVEN more money for commission. Man what happened to you? You started out good, pure, and really wanting to help men out with fashion. I respect what the old you stood for. But now, it seems that the money got to your head, and you lost your pride. Now you're just another misleading marketing tool, misleading innocent men, your very audience, to buy from your sponsors. Such a shame. You used to be good man, you used to be good...
Save a bit of Cash and get Tissot. Swiss made, HIGH QUALITY, price points from really reasonable up to quite expensive, they all use scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and they've been around since 1853.
These watches are horrible...My lord...The only watch in this video that I would buy is the Timex, and it's a good $70 cheaper then the other two you display.
&Ö& Paneristi why did you have to reserve to name calling?wtf are you 10 yo? There are literally 1000s of watches out there that you could have done the same thing and people will bitch the same way. What's the big deal about sponsors..dont you represent the company you work for? Your logic and response just goes to show how immature and wet behind the ears some of these insufferable know it all responses are..post your video of watches ..and the guy isnt gay at all...fucking haters..
+Masri Elmasri I've seen them before but i've never owned one. And like I mentioned in the beginning I was just focusing on watches that I own and can properly review. Maybe down the road I'll pick one up to review!
+Teachingmensfashion yes please if you can pick up a Seiko 5.From what I've read it's a automatic watch and seen them selling for under $60 and was really thinking of picking one up.
As an alternative to the Weekender, get the chronograph version of the weekender. Slightly higher price, more functionality, and more importantly, none of the loud ticking!
I'm a young male, and this list is ridiculous. Only the timex weekender is good, and that's not all too great either. I got a seiko 5 for under 100, a seiko skx007 for under 100, and an orient bambino v3 for barely over 100. All three are beautiful automatics with astounding quality. If you're a young dude and want to know good watches on a budget, check out the urban gentry.
I honestly want to let you know any "gold watches" under $100 is a terrible no go. I may have went with Timex Expedition Trails series green faced watch @$80-130. 100m WR, beautiful green dial face and a better finish than anything on MVMT. Now I would have almost replaced the Weekender also with an Easy Reader only because everyone talks about the weekender. However. I do feel you were thinking of your own collection under $100. Personally for staying away from horology but still affordable Timex, Casio, even Infantry would be better bang for your dollar.
Ive just ordered my own MVMT watch and it says that every watch comes with a 2 year guarantee. I'd definitely send it back . However yes I'd rank it last too
The timex weekender got those comments from sophisticated guy like you? That works well, and anyone that listens to you has incredible taste. Bring in quality for the price point, and that is a really good start.
Buying a watch, the user experience is always important. Also to add, Watches in general. Gold watches basically come in 3 tiers. Spray on coatings like the one you had which was cheap and doesn’t last long, plating which is a this plated layer of gold and then solid gold
Great video! I find this very useful since I can find a watch in a reasonable price in college. Quick question: Should I get a Brown or Black watch strap for my first watch? I want to wear it casual and dress wise. I don't know which is better. Thanks!
i have the rose gold with the black leather strip from mvmt and its been great. it hasnt peeled and all I get is compliments about how beautiful it is.
Good video. The fifth is actually a cool watch, for its selling scheme if not the quality. Timex is a valid quality for cheap. I can see why Seiko and Citizen aren't on here, retail on those are above $100. But with discount, those two are way way better in quality for the same price. Check out worldofwatches and you'll see they always have a sale and often beat eBay.
Just bought my The 5th watch and love it. Found your channel thru my unboxing video :) love your content. Please make more best watches under $100!!! :D
Nice video, I just happened to be wearing a Timex Weekender with the exact same nato strap at the one in the video! Great watch, only downside is the rather loud ticking. Not the type of watch you'd wear to the library
+Teachingmensfashion Nope, the company is from Austria and is established in 1975. I personally have very good experiences with them. And on amazon you can find models like the London for a litle above 100$
Brigada is a great company... It has stainless steel cases, 5ATM waterproof, Japanese quarts movement AND it's only 25 to about 300 dollars. You can find them on Amazon and I'm buying there watch tomorrow. (most likely)
there are seikos and orients with same price as these, with better build quality. you can easily tell that the mvmt and the fifth watches are very cheaply made (e.g. at 4:44)
+madmanggo well he put the mvmt and fifth watches in here because they were sponsors, but i do believe that at 100 dollars you could get a better watch.
In my opinion LORUS or PULSAR have got to be the best value main stream budget watch companies purely because they are owned by Seiko and use Seiko movements. - Bought a Lorus recently as an every day beater for £20.00 RRP £44.99 - looks as good as watches at four or five times the price - Quartz watches are all great timekeepers so can't see the point in spending lots on a watch unless its an automatic.
You can buy a fully automatic 24 jewel Invicta blue/gold tone that looks great and is under £75! It looks much better than the options in this video and is water resistant to 200m.
Watch snob here. Timex is a great brand with true history, there is no better bang for buck imaginable. The other two, MVMT and the Fifth however are questionable choices. The Fifth is no better than Timex is, and the only reason they are more expensive this the fact that they rely a lot on gimmicky marketing. MVMT is just complete blah. They make watches that are approximately 45mm ø which tends to look like you strapped a wall clock to your wrist, unless you are a big guy. Also the quality is a terrible. Not buying a gold coated one is sensible advice, but the rest of it has a high risk of coming apart too. Another brand to stay away from is Daniel Wellington. Off course not everyone has to buy mechanical watches. After all quartz is very accurate, requires less setting and saves you a lot of money while being just as stylish. So if you want an affordable quartz time piece the Timex is a great buy. Another brand that is easy to recommend is Swatch. I do believe their cheaper models go for under $100, the quality is a bit better, they have been around since the '80s and they have fun, funky designs. In the affordable quartz segment Swatch is arguably king.
you should also look into the seiko 5 series. the snk793 or snkl23 is well under 100$ for an automatic movement. you can pick them up for around 80$ brand new. :)
I don't get the reason for explicitly not including the Orient Bambino. Could you please elaborate on why that is not suitable for the review? Asking because I have considered it as well as some of the ones you suggested.
Discovered your channel a month ago and loving it. Im right down your target demographic lol. BUT I live in NZ, so I would absolutely love if you did a video on top accessories/items for those outside of the US. A lot of these things are crazily more expensive outside of the US or not available altogether.
I would recommend eBay as a good place to find fantastic deals. I've personally bought Fossil and Daniel Wellington watches from there which cost about $80~ each when the retail price on Amazon is usually $115~! It's been about 4 months and so far nothing has broken and worn off!
I def agree the classic series is safer with the MVNT watches. They look great thought! If I had to go a little above your price point I'd say Daniel Wellington! Armitron has some nice watches also at this price range.
I wanna start a watch collection. Started mine with a navy coloured G-Shock model 5146. Just bought it because it really was my style. I just want a humble little watch collection, not some crazy collection. It would be nice if you give me some recommendations for cool watches under $200. I’m personally into metallic watches that are low key fancy but not crazy fancy.
YES, you can find a watch for less than $30 ( weekender). And the 'loud' movement, and better quality than mvmt and how many other simiiar fashion watches.
What's your opinions on the emporio Armani mens choriograph watch (AR1733)? Im debating whether to purchase it as my first watch - is the leather good quality? Is the price of £104 good? Etc.
Did I not see this gentleman (watch video maker) do a previous video glorifying Movement MVMT watches as the most fantastic, beautiful, well made watches under $50? I do love your videos. You're a great host and narrator. Might want to take down that video telling us how great MVMT watches are. I'm here because of that video. No worries, I have already ascertained MVMT watches ain't that great. Up close they look low quality.
Hey man, I've noticed that some of your panning shots are a little jumpy. You should check out some fluid movement tripod heads, I think Manfrotto makes some good ones. They'll make shots like the one panning between the watches silky smooth. Otherwise great video, I'd love to get my hands on a Fifth.
I just bought a cheap watch for 15$. It's minimal, water resistant and tells time (no shit?). Really all that I look for. I like how it looks. And I'm not a watch guy anyway. Don't care about brands that much (yes I know better brands can mean better quality and build, but I'd rather spend more money on things like backpacks, boots and denim). If you're a watch enthusiast, that's great more power to you. But not all of us want to be one. To the commenters going nuts and calling people out, why be rude to others over this stuff? Spend your energy educating others instead of calling them out.
got sponsored or not, the fifth watch looks like it came straight from HK factory and has inferior standard to TIMEX INDIGLO or garfield. For under $100, best watch brands are Mondaine, Tissot if you can find good deal, CASIO, SIEKO, CITIZEN, ROTARY, EDIFICE, TIMEX, ORIENT.
1. Were you paid for these reviews? 2. Is the Timex a steel case? What movement? Is it water proof? 3. If the MVMT plating (not paint) started chipping, it was probably not ION Plated. All higher spec watches will ION plate
The fifth watch can be had fore around $7 from ali express, it and mvmt are cheaply made fashion watches made in china most have the same movement. It is fine if you like them but know what it is before dropping money on it. If you like the look there are better watches that you can get. The Orient FUG1R003W0 Capital a lot of watch for the price. Skagen watches made in Denmark much of there line will come under the $100 price point. Seiko 5 come in at around $100 some under that. Wenger Urban Classic Chrono Swiss made so it reads but there are lot of Wenger under $100. There are lots of Casio's out there like the classic g shock many will go down to 200 m for diving and robust to use at the gym for $50. There is a well a well known 200 m analog Duro Marlin MDV106-1A for under $50.
my wrist i think is around 6.5 inches or so...i was wondering if that would make the melbourne minimal 5th watch look too big on my wrist. Im deciding between that silver one with the tan band and the tribeca new york rose gold one and i am worried one might look too big. Is 6.5 inch wrist too small for the melbourne?
Orient Bambino (~100-150$)
Seiko 5 series (50-150$)
Citizen Eco Drive's (75-...$)
Seiko skx007 or skx009 (200-250$)
Orient Symphony (75-150$)
Timex expedition scout (30-40$)
Timex weekenders (30-50$)
Vostok Amphibia (50$)
Tissot classic dream quartz (150$)
Skagen watches (50-100$)
Spend your money on one of these real respected watch brands instead of those bad quality chinese fashion watches like Armani, Diesel, The Fifth...
D Pec no offense bro....but dont mention the sponsor brand is bad in a sponsor video
D Pec i have a seiko solar and its awesome
Love the first anyone have better idea
Skagen, and if you search frantically through the reviews on worn and wound you should find some too
Im 13 and going into 8 th grade imma try and get the timex weakender just fir the ticking to piss the class off
lol
lol
It's actually a pretty nice and legendary timepiece in the basic watches category so congrats if you really end up getting one! :)
Kbob Kbob. I like the way you think.
Kbob it's an exaggeration they are not that loud. I wear one all the time.
Seiko 5 is very versatile and come in a variety of styles and colors and there automatic, lume, day date ,wr,hardlex cyrstal, and shock prof. The seiko 5 lineup is simply the best bang for buck watch on the planet.
You're overpaying for cheap and crap MVMT and Fifth watches. Timex, Citizen, and Seiko are much better quality and value.
For real!
Xtemplate i'm probably a bit nuts but i like hearing the tick
Timex and Casio for the college students like me ^^
or Orient
you can get a real watch Vostok Amphibia - a mechanical automatic divers watch which is robust for about £40gpb on ebay. much better than any of this quartz crap.
ugly Vostok appearance
Can you make this a series? Best watch under ____?
Yes !
Yes please !! Or review Brands
Get on watchuseek.twenty dollars or less lets see them.
Yes pls do
That's a great idea
or you guys can try Seiko's. for the same price you can get a fully automatic movement with in-house parts.
I like all of your videos bruh
Thanks bruh 🙌🏽
+Teachingmensfashion bruh
Teachingmensfashion if you had to choose between the 5th black/tan and the Timex chrono oversize black/tan what would you pick?
A Automatic Seiko is probably the best way to go. Other vice there are non.
ChevyBM orient is cool too
If you want quartz and good looking, then go look at Timex's Waterbury or Fairfield. Cheaper than Mvmt or DW and timex is a legit watch makin company
Mondaine, Rotary and Tissot all have good looking watches. The durability of that gold coating on $100 watches will be crap. One rule in watch is avoiding golden watch if its price is below $1000
Except they are ugly

Kaiserflame 1 I have seen this exact comment somewhere else before.... maybe it was on an older alpha.m video. That’s true though
Save a bit of Cash and get Tissot. Swiss made, HIGH QUALITY, price points from really reasonable up to quite expensive, they all use scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and they've been around since 1853.

LOL yeah. There are thousands of watches better than these under $100 on amazon.
Chupick Nicolas cheap ass
Mrs. Paneristi he even sounds rehearsed
&Ö& Paneristi why did you have to reserve to name calling?wtf are you 10 yo? There are literally 1000s of watches out there that you could have done the same thing and people will bitch the same way. I was going to say something similar. But he did start the video off with a disclaimer so I can give him a free pass.
Loving the more casual feel to the videos. Great work.
+Nafe Mustafa Thanks! Finally getting more comfortable infront of the camera
One word, Seiko
Which model tho? Skx retails for around 220 new. What's a good Seiko model under $100 new?
+Teachingmensfashion a lot of seiko 5 watches
+Masri Elmasri I've seen them before but i've never owned one. And like I mentioned in the beginning I was just focusing on watches that I own and can properly review. Maybe down the road I'll pick one up to review!
+Teachingmensfashion yes please if you can pick up a Seiko 5.From what I've read it's a automatic watch and seen them selling for under $60 and was really thinking of picking one up.
Mohamed Elmasri I've got a Seiko snk809. 60 bucks, fully automatic, looks a lot like the weekender but with a day and date function. Great watch

This vidio was very helpful thankyou imma drop a sub
Ive just ordered my own MVMT watch and it says that every watch comes with a 2 year guarantee. I'd definitely send it back . However yes I'd rank it last too
Why would you definitely send it back?
I'm asuming he means that Jose (the guys in the vid) should send his back.
Talking about watches, why aren't you wearing one? :D
Timex weekender is really good! Bought one 4 months ago, still love it. Good watch for a "first watch".
I support you because everyone has it's own style and taste
Good variety and advice thanks bro......
The timex weekender got those comments from sophisticated guy like you? That works well, and anyone that listens to you has incredible taste. Bring in quality for the price point, and that is a really good start.

Nice video, I just happened to be wearing a Timex Weekender with the exact same nato strap at the one in the video!
Great watch, only downside is the rather loud ticking.
Not the type of watch you'd wear to the library
these videos just keep getting better and better... my goodness..
best option is Q&Q .
their Dress style Watch are cheap with classic models and Citizen movements inside
Personally do I like jacques lemans a lot, they are good made and fashionable.
+Remco Weerd I've never heard of them. New brand?

+siddi73 Thanks for watching!
+Teachingmensfashion watch-ing
Melbourne Minimal White Tan and New York Upper East form The 5th is what I have.
Finaly there's someone who shows cheap watches wich i can effort. Thanks man
You're welcome man!
why no seiko or orient? those are way better than these. or save up a bit more and get a fossil...
bro, this was meant for students and people who are on tight budgets.
there are seikos and orients with same price as these, with better build quality. you can easily tell that the mvmt and the fifth watches are very cheaply made (e.g. at 4:44)
+madmanggo well he put the mvmt and fifth watches in here because they were sponsors, but i do believe that at 100 dollars you could get a better watch.
Fossil is worse than both those brands.
***** depends, for example the fossil del rey that uses seiko's vk64 mecha-quartz movement

Did u ever purchase a Leonard and Church watch? Idk if I should get, can u make a review video of that if u happen to come across one?
I'm a timex weekender chronograph fan🤗⌚️
SHOCK the rapper Flyback Crono here
I have a Timex Expedition Scout 40! I love it!
Yeah, I've heard quite a few complaints with the chronograph from MVMT and I don't know if the others are like that one.
The new 40mm weekenders do not have loud ticking!
Which watch would you recommend for everyday use?
you should also look into the seiko 5 series. the snk793 or snkl23 is well under 100$ for an automatic movement. you can pick them up for around 80$ brand new. :)
I really like the fifth watches because I get money whenever you guys use my code
Lol I like how 2/3 of these watches are sponsored watches it's not even an honest review
I don't get the reason for explicitly not including the Orient Bambino. Could you please elaborate on why that is not suitable for the review? Asking because I have considered it as well as some of the ones you suggested.
Thanks for the code! Now I can buy it early because I waited a month to be VIP so you are a God
If you really want a quality classy watch get the orient capital instead of the fifth. It is so much nicer and thinner. Under $100 on longislandwatch.
All this watches are a great choice for anyone who wear his watch on his right hand. .
ROTORHEADPR do you know whats the last one call?

other than the timex these are all shitty overpriced kickstarter watches
agree, I rather get seiko or citizen for $100
I know this comment from a year ago but is avi8 a good brand
The Loli Catcher you probably couldn't even make a better one
The Loli Catcher you suck
the fifth is a greater intro hower sapphire crystals is a must!!
I know some people might hate on this, but Invictas are not bad watches. I think they're pretty good. Also seiko makes some nice watches.
I would recommend eBay as a good place to find fantastic deals. I've personally bought Fossil and Daniel Wellington watches from there which cost about $80~ each when the retail price on Amazon is usually $115~! It's been about 4 months and so far nothing has broken and worn off!
I low key hate you for showing me that first watch lmao, now I have to get one. It looks so badass
I love this all video clips
I def agree the classic series is safer with the MVNT watches. They look great thought! If I had to go a little above your price point I'd say Daniel Wellington! Armitron has some nice watches also at this price range.
I wanna start a watch collection. Started mine with a navy coloured G-Shock model 5146. Just bought it because it really was my style. I just want a humble little watch collection, not some crazy collection. It would be nice if you give me some recommendations for cool watches under $200. I’m personally into metallic watches that are low key fancy but not crazy fancy.
There are great deals on watches on Massdrop, especially if you are interested in entry level automatic watches!
YES, you can find a watch for less than $30 ( weekender). And the 'loud' movement, and better quality than mvmt and how many other simiiar fashion watches.
I swear The Fifth buys advertisements from every style youtuber to get in these types of vids. Pretty biased
my mvmt tan leather classic watch afer one mount is almost not tan anymore. never been so dissapointed ...
silver is my color, I hate gold. The loud one is dope. I really like the loud watch.
Dude I love the mvmt watches!
Armoni Corbett shitter watches
bruh. MVMT legit gets their watches off Alibaba for $15 each.
1. HMT
2. Titan
3. Maxima
4. Fastrack
5. Casio
All under $ 50
1:28 I see what you did there, puns for days
Im on the market for watches for my groomsmen, but dont want to break the bank, whats your opinion on stuhrling watches?
Try Vostok Amphibia. Beautifull watches
The loud ticking on the weekender would be a constant reminder that time is a valuable thing. Idk
Up close they look low quality.
what do you think of the timex weekender fairfield
Hey man, I've noticed that some of your panning shots are a little jumpy. You should check out some fluid movement tripod heads, I think Manfrotto makes some good ones. They'll make shots like the one panning between the watches silky smooth. Otherwise great video, I'd love to get my hands on a Fifth.
+AARON Thanks for tip! I'll check out those tripods you mentioned and pick one up. And yeah they're great! I believe they go live for sale tomorrow!

+Teachingmensfashion No Problem! And thanks for the heads up!
Under 100..
I would go for Lorus, Pulsar or something like an automatic Seiko 5.
can online watches be trusted for example if i buy a Timex online is it the real one ???
got sponsored or not, the fifth watch looks like it came straight from HK factory and has inferior standard to TIMEX INDIGLO or garfield. For under $100, best watch brands are Mondaine, Tissot if you can find good deal, CASIO, SIEKO, CITIZEN, ROTARY, EDIFICE, TIMEX, ORIENT.
Good work
Love the review thanks! Do the Melbourne style watches have interchangeable straps similar to the New York style?
i recommend invicta pro diver 8927ob. classic dive watch design and under $100 on most sites.
Are Fossil watches good?
Daniel Wellington are the best! So minimal.
I need watches manufactured for my startup. Any ideas or advice? I don't want them manufactured in China, for now.
my wrist i think is around 6.5 inches or so...i was wondering if that would make the melbourne minimal 5th watch look too big on my wrist. Im deciding between that silver one with the tan band and the tribeca new york rose gold one and i am worried one might look too big. Is 6.5 inch wrist too small for the melbourne?
