I have the Contixo F24, which (as far as I'm able to determine anyway) is an *EXACT* clone of the SJRC F11.
I love the living tweedle out of it; the only thing that pisses me off about the drone is that for what I paid (almost $300) it doesn't have a gimbal. Yes, the camera's angle can be adjusted 90° right from the radio, but a true gimbal, no.
Great video, thanks! I just ordered a white F11 and live in a windy area. I suggest if you do any more of these that you get a windspeed anemometer so you can tell exactly the wind conditions (only cost 16 USD). I believe the weight helps keep it stable. Thanks

So what are they for...to get in the way? can they be taken off without damage to the controller? Subscribed to your channel. Great review. Just got this drone. Loving it so far. Got the HolyStone HS720E before this one. Loving both. Each has its pros and cons. With this one, I took it up to max of 120 meters and just went forward with it until it RTH on its own. That was at 566 meters. This was flying above my community, urban area with lots of houses and wifi networks, and nearby power plant and power lines. It was windy but no where near as windy as in your video. Is this the distance limit for this drone? Being that we both got almost identical flying distance before RTH? Battery life I’ve been getting 30 mins of flight time. It’s been lots of fun.

And yes this is a good drone and the new 4k pro one with a gimbal is just as good, I love the f11 drones. Yes I'd agree, I think that's it's range I don't have this drone any more but I want do a second flight test with the new f11 and see how far it gets out. These are decent for their price and specs, still. Best budget non brand drone to me. 😁👌
@@DenonGregory Flew it today again in a more open area and got it out to 1,000 meters but couldn’t maintain sight of it at that point so I hit RTH. So this time it went out 440 meters further. Still though, at about 700 meters I lost FPV. Having lots of fun with it.
Yeah it's all about area and transmitter position and your height. Higher you are easier to line the transmitter up with the drone. But I just did a test on my mini 2 and same area but took it out one way and it only went 4500 feet took it out the other way and got it out to 7.2k feet and would have went further but had to rth cause of battery.

Any micro USB cable mostly I charge it with my ps4 USB cable and charge it through my PS4 PRO since the pro charges fast, or I plug it in the wall.

A very good review. I have over a dozen drones 3 Phantoms, 1 Mavic, several smaller Bugs, Hubsan and XK drones. Here is my take this latest SJRC offering. Many people may gripe the about the camera and 2 - axis gimbal. Could it be better yes? I realize there may be some concern regarding the controller battery capacity but just use some eneloop or Ladda batteries or other high quality brands. However in the overall scheme of things [I think] you get quite a lot for the price point. I am seriously considering this bird based a lot on your review. Why? It would be great [Mavic equivalent] beaters drone that I could do things with that I wouldn't with my Mavic [Go fishing for instance] and the fly more combo price is extremely impressive.

Way points needs a saved offline map of your location in maps on the phone.
Satellite map or streetmap. Otherwise you get a blank screen. With a red circle. I cannot get waypoints to work outside the red circle.

Drone Hero Yen , I have been drooling over the EVO for some time now, I am curious to know more about NOVICE MODE . I was initially thinking that novice mode might make it okay to take the plunge and purchase one. I mainly have toy hobby grade experience certainly nothing too expensive. On the other hand none of my small drones have ever had GPS so that may be a plus.
@@redjack56 I will say novice mode and it's speed settings make it a sinch to fly. I felt safer letting beginners fly my Evo than my toy ones. The toys ones have no control. They're usually really fast and aggressive and they actually take more skill to pilot than an expensive drone since they don't have all the advanced safety software. Funny thing is in the footage inside my video with the Evo I was in novice mode. Novice mode restricts speed, height and distance. Definitely stay tuned I think my Evo review may shed some light. It's a little more in depth versus existing reviews. It should be up in a few hours.

According to my opinion this drone is the one i need. Because i see to many video tryong to now the one i need. I think this video you made tell the answer to what i need
Man you were flying it out so far, it almost hit the back of your head.
But more important for me is Active Track. Because Follow Me and Active Track is exactly what I will be using my Z5 for. Those features should be pretty much the same on the F11 and Z5.
And your demonstration of Active Track proved it doesn't have to be a human shape. Which means it will probably work as well with my trike. Although it is possible you threat your car as a human being. That I don't know of course.
BTW the toilet bowl has a reason. You see in China they don't have toilet bowls but a hole like the French to shit your pants and wet your shoes. So the drone has to get used to our customs.

@@DenonGregory Yes it will be my first drone flight. You start by making it dizzy with the Go Piss Shoes calibration and then it will do that awesome toilet bowl effect. After that you Return Home and it will follow you. Manual was in Chinese but I got it all figured out.
Nice flying and great video. I just got mine but facing some problems. While flying I press the Headless mode button to switch to headless but instead it turn off the GPS. After reading the instruction again it says to turn on Headless after connecting drone with controller.. Means cannot turn on headless while flying. Headless and GPS should not use same button, this is bad. Also while flying and without any warning it starts to do toilet bowl and big one too. When doing right turns the drone tends to fall several feet, it nearly hit the ground several times. GPS does not show the number of satellites. The Bugs 2W is a much better flyer.
You may got a bad one in the batch. I even flew mine again just yesterday cause I haven't flew it in several months and it flew fine. Any drone using a barometer is going to fluctuate its altitude or tends to drop. In this video I did mention it "circles" but ONLY during follow me sometimes. As for Headless mode there's definitely something wrong with your specific F11. Cause you only disable GPS by holding down Headless mode then it goes into attitude mode. If you tap it then it goes Headless mode. But like with any drone like this you have to activate Headless mode before taking off, where your controller is facing will be your North. If you activate Headless mode while flying your controls will become backwards as it will now make your North anther direction while you're flying and make all your controls backwards.
You set the drone down and point your body in the direction you'll be flying out towards, activate Headless mode and stay facing that direction during flight and your North will always be where your body/controller is facing.
If you are doing all that right then you have a defective unit. My overall overview of this drone is its great but it's weakness is "circling effect" during follow me. Other than that I had no issues with it, flies stables, fast, accurate, flew it in snow, rain, and heavy wind and now issues. I'm sorry you're having a negative experience. :/

Yes a night flight is in the mix. And in depth camera quality. Like I'm going to actually fly steady and go to nice nature spots and take pictures and videos and do a video going over my beautiful neighborhood at day and at night.

you have to change the camera that you have on the head, it has a shake of the picture and dazzles you, you can not watch. In the way point process that did not work I think the app has a problem, it has happened to me too. The Gesture process did not work, according to what I mentioned in the video, because you did not activate the button.

Some things have been ordered and some things I'm still trying to decide on, like 4k action camera. Right now I'm just using what I have so when my new gear comes my improvements will be noticed. Sadly nothing is perfect in the beginning.

Also this camera does have electronic image stabilization but not in Ultra 4k, which is what this was shot in. If I did FHD resolution it would have stabilized it but I wanted to put it in 4k 60fps.
Sorry for audio near the end. I had remove the song playing. Using youtube's audio removing feature which is in beta, I messed my voice audio up a bit removing the overlapping song.

Honestly, it depends on where you are. these are wifi drones and other frequencies can interefere with their signal which will decrease your range. The less of a busy populated area you're in, the better the signal. sorry for the late reply.
I just flew mine for the first time. I changed batteries. When the new one was in The icon for the battery power in the drone still showed less than 20% from the previous What am I supposed to do to get the app to read the new batteries power level? Any help would be great Thanks Scott
From my experience there is no need to pair the new batteries. When you install the new battery it should read like normal. That's my experience with both the f11's i own. I don't know why it isn't reading the correcy battery percentage.
Hi..it seems that in the track feature the drone did not follow the car..it just track it literally thru the screen not following it like the follow me feature...does the track feature follow what you like to track rather than following the phone app or tx?
Yes so track me on this drone and other drones in the same grade all track like this. Their track me is more of a "watch me" they just hover and turn left and right to keeping looking at the subject. The follow me in this drone follows the GPS inside your phone/tablet.
So active track you put a box around your subject (person or object) and it hovers and watches. If you use follow me the drone will lock onto the GPS of the device and follow the device.

@@DenonGregory the 600m fpv of this drone is very impressive...i wonder what its maximum range before the tx lose connection? The bugs 5w gets only a good fpv at 400m and a good 1 km distance range before it loses tx signal. This has all the features the bugs 5w has except for the tracking feature which the bugs 5w does not have...and also the long flight time almost doubles the bugs 5w flight time which is only around 13mins max at normal conditions...
You're very welcome. I did have that drone. Features wise the bugs and F11 are completely equal. But the F11 folds and is more portable the controller and drone folds up unlike the bugs, the F11 has a better battery life, and the F11 charges with micro USB so you can easily charge multiple batteries but with the bugs they have their own two piece charger. The bugs charges faster though. The F11 also has a sturdier more expensive build quality as well. Overall I personally prefer the F11. But the bugs is a good drone and it's also a little more expensive than the F11.
@@epsonexxon1088 yes you're exactly right! This does top the bugs 5w to me in multiple categories. And the furthest I got it with fpv was 700 meters. I'll post up a video I got more content coming for this drone and others in its price point.

When you hit return to home does it the drone raise up to a certain height and then return or does it just come back at current height
hey Tolman Taylor! The SJRC F11 comes back at the height you set. I had my set at 85 meters so I skipped that part cause it took a while to rise. Inside the app you can set the return to home altitude and every time you use RTH it will raise to that height, then come back.

Refer to my Waypoints video. You have to click Waypoints BEFORE taking off. It's not broken. :)

Have your phone or any phones near you on airplane mode. Have a good phone, that's the main thing the older or cheaper the phone the less range. Don't be near too much metal and try to keep the controller facing where the drone is heading. And try not to have buildings or trees in between the drone and the controller.

Has anyone had issues with the video quality of the drone in Follow Me
mode? When i activate Follow Me and start moving, the drove does follow
me, but does so in a very 'jerky' way, almost like hopping, or a bunch

Yes that's what it does. It's just cause it's a budget drone, that's the quality of budget grade drones. I did a review on the new version and it does the same.

I'm so sorry to hear. I'd imagine the drone is defective seeing as it should not do that. All 4 motors should spin. There's not much we as pilots can do if it has bad motors. :(

Hmm no, it's 5g wifi signal which is enhanced range and speed. But it doesn't mean 3g and 5g data networks, it's wifi.

@@HUFFY48 They do not have a website from what I can see. Only thing they have is customer support/information that sends you to their UA-cam videos from the sjrc GPS app.

Yes that would be nice. Since the antennas are fake we can't get any parabolic range boosters. But for the price and for what it is its range and live view quality is very good.
@@DenonGregory In the transmitter there is a small antenna horizontally mounted which is probably 2.4ghz and can be significantly improved

Yes I'm aware. But that'd be a custom mod. Not something anyone could do or would be comfortable doing. But I'm sure someone will do it eventually. :)
It doesn't beep?
It does actually. When you're recording it beeps and when your tilt the camera up and down it beeps. Only time it doesn't beep is if you use gestures to start recording video? It won't beep then but if you initiate recording from the controller it will beep.

Yes it does beep for sure, a lot of these cheaper drones beep they all do during recording and gimbal tilt. It's very annoying haha.

I agree too. Initially thought of getting this because I was really impressed by the flight time. But when i saw other videos have frame skipping as well, I have second thoughts. Does the video stored in the sd card have frame skipping too? Or is it only from the live transmission?
