Cats looked slow, they didn’t adapt to the heat of the game and couldn’t keep up with a side who are used to those conditions. Full credit goes to GC and their squad for putting on a great performance against a top side, also great to see some stories of the blokes playing infront of their family and friends up at their home town.
Kingy, I don't know how you deal with Kane sometimes.
Geelong have a huge home-ground advantage, which will see them comfortably in the finals, but they won't have much impact in the finals. They got absolutely hammered on turnovers last night. The Suns are only just getting started with all their first round academy draft picks from last year and the coming years. They'll be scarily good in a few years time.
I think they'll lose a few more there this year. It's not longer the almost impenetrable fortress it has been for a long time. I think they barely make or just miss the 8.
Cats didnt make finals in 2023 even though they were the reigning premiers.

Geelong could use so many excuses (crazy heat, lack of senior players, unique travel, etc) but Gold Coast played like a team possessed kicking goals for a laugh. It was an unbelievable performance
No excuses should be made at all in reality.
North Melbourne put up more of a fight. Even with Hawk, Cameron and Dangerfield out, that side on paper is still superior to North Melbourne.
Not to mention GC didn’t have Witts, Walter and Holman.

One team read the How to Play in the Tropics guidebook the other didn't. GC kicked low and hard inside 50. Cats kicked high and long. It's too greasy for overhead marks. This also negated Tom down back. Also GC waited out the back of the ball whereas cats all rushed in. Every time nearly the ball went through hands to those GC players who waited. Yeah they had players missing but I still think they would have lost with their tactics

Carlton don't have a Warner, Walsh and Cripps do not damage you like that because they don't have the pace and footwork to do so.

There is a ladder predictor on the afl site. Choose who you think will win each game and it shows you the ladder. It does not look good for Geelong in most scenarios to finish top 4 and with a game or 2 lost at home they aren't making top 8.

@joshuasadler9243 on my predictor it's between 4th and 8th depending on how many big showdown wins at mcg you give them. Vs bombers, demons x2, blues and cats. I'd give them at least 3 of those personally.

Geelong have lost the last 3 because they're playing good teams. They were 7 and 0 because of an easy draw. Now they're playing against genuine top 8 teams and they're crumbling. Same as GWS.
