- Welcome back to the 888MF UA-cam channel. In this Xmas Special we drag race four incredible supercars at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground. The McLaren 720S takes on the Ferrari 812 Superfast, the Lamborghini Aventador SV and Performante Spyder.

awesome line up and races! 720S will struggle off the line with no launch with no boost...... the NA cars always do much better with no launch....
DragTimes the race was pretty close with 812, but i think its fare that non of the cars used LC, but i am surprised 812 beat lambo SV,

@@randomvideos21015 what's weird? The 720s wasn't launched, so the turbos weren't spooling, while the NA Ferrari doesn't have turbos to spool

The aventador relies heavily on its launch, and you guys didn't do it.
@@MATRIX_7 Looks like a 1/2 or even full mile drag strip too and played out AWD as an advantage. AWD is only an advantage in the 1/4 mile for better traction, but the 1/2 mile and 1 mile rely more on power and RWD only divide that power between 2 wheels not 4, plus there's a lot less parts meaning less power is lost in the drivetrain before you get to the wheels. So the AWD is a massive disadvantage in this situation.
Yea I notice in some of there videos the Lamborghini always loses 🤔
@@MATRIX_7 Why used a spider? Other tests on YT shows that performante coupe leaves the Sv behind.. Spider is heavier bout 80 kilos due to special frame that stiffens it. Shame.. Well done Horsearri.
4wd adds a lot of weight.
Who cares bout 4WD weight... You don't buy Lamborghini to race quarter miles, and in cornering and driving on wet 4WD is far more stable and faster than RWD
720 S is like that one smart kid in the class who doesnt look like studying and always messing around in the class but always gets the A+ in the exams

And a meaningless use of a preposition "an" at the end there - you could just not write it and it would make much more sense. And if you think Ferrari 812 is slow, then what kind of a car are you driving? A supersonic jet car - Thrust SSC, maybe?

This video proves how much slower the gt2rs is compared to 720s when its being driven correctly. The gt2rs is left behind on every single pass by a massive margin try argue now you little child 😂
27suzukirider very close, 720s has hit 9.7s in the quarter though. I doubt a Gt2rs would beat it in the quarter.
They tried handicap the 720s but it still won with ease lol.
How was it a handicap for one car if all of em didn't use launch control?
The 720 is turbocharged whereas the 812 is NA, not using launch control on a turbo car means the turbos are well out of boost putting them at a big disadvantage against an equivalent NA car off the line as you have to wait for the turbos to come on boost

The 812 maybe NA, but has a front engine layout and is also the heaviest among those cars. So off the line its also the worst off.

The Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce is the heaviest. It’s just the layout that gives the 812 Superfast a disadvantage.

@@trueformoblivion4530 all four of the cars mentioned are road cars? Race cars would probably do worse in a drag race, the gearing is all wrong and they don't transfer weight
This was an amazing race! When the Ferrari 812 Superfast came out, I initially wasn't a big fan of it. However, it has really grown on me and the specification of the one in the video is absolutely insane! Love the gold-accented wheel. What is also interesting is how the well the McLaren held its own despite being down two to four cylinders on every car.

Well seeing as the 720S is also the lightest by a considerable amount, has turbochargers and makes the most torque, you shouldn’t be surprised it won..

We have a 2018 720s and it is an ultimate dream. I understand that they don’t hold there value as much as a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, but I don’t ever intend on selling. The power behind this car is just beyond me. We tried the equivalent of a Lamborghini and Ferrari before buying and were so underwhelmed by every aspect of the cars. Absolutely love this car!
Honestly i wasn't expecting the performante to lose against the SV, and that first race of the 812 vs 720s was pretty close.
SAM the all type of guy with a legit test the performante should win. This doesn't look like it was done properly. Since there's so little grip the difference between having LC on/off and traction control on/off could make a massive difference, aswell as driver. The performante has set better 1/4mile times

I expected it. This was the Huracán LP640-4 Performante Spyder, it has significant weight advantage over the hardtop. I’m sure if it was the Huracán LP640-4 Performante, it would’ve won.

True. Dragtimes managed a 2.38s 0-60 and a 4.9s 0-100 in his 720S on Toyo 888R tyres. That's Chiron territory!

I have always loved Lambos, but I have to admit that the new McLarens (540, 570, 720) are absolutely out of this world. Fast like anything else, and God, they're gorgeous.

AWD vehicles lose most of their advantage without launch control, so do turbo cars since their turbos aren’t ready and boost isn’t available yet. This was quite a pointless test. Porsche make sure their cars can do launch controls 100 times in a row without breaking. Maybe they should have bought Porsche’s if they were so scared of wrecking their gearboxes

Drag races in general are pointless for super-cars. They are fun to watch and all but that's completely not what super-cars are about.
I will get the 812 over any of those despite the 720s being faster.

@Honesty First Where the professionals also driving the McLaren or only the other cars? What if a pro is driving the McLaren, what then? Also, bringing in pro drivers is no different than bringing up formula one. Most people driving McLaren's or Ferrari's on the street aren't professional drivers.

The powerband is INSANE on the 720S. It's quick off the line but my god that 60-130mph for a stock car is bonkers. You see how it just slingshot past the Ferrari.

@@jasonlopez4840 Stock does not mean naturally aspirated. A stock car means the car is the exactly the same as since it came from the factory that made it. So if a Mclaren 720s came from the Mclaren factory in England and the owner has not done anything to it, it would still be a stock car. A car becomes not stock when you do something such as tune the ECU or add bolt on mods to the car.
There is no such thing or common consensus that a stock car is a naturally aspirated car, I have no idea where you learned this or why you think it is a thing.
I guess the the new civics with turbos aren't stock🤔

The fact that Ferrari gets a whopping 780hp from a N.A engine is an example of amazing engineering. Also gotta admire the V12 of the lambo as well with 740 hp from it's N.A engine.

bugatti ss does 0-124mph in 6.6 and has AWD so i'm pretty sure that bugatti gonna win
The Bugatti its on another league. There's no reason to do that drag-race because even the slowest hypercars, the Senna and the 918 destroyed the 720s... there are videos here in YT that prove it.
MARTIN ORTIZ the 720s would beat a Veyron on the strip I think. The Veyron is good for about 140mph in the 1/4mile, the 720s has done 145-150mph and it's LC is far superior. On a road surface the Veyron would win, or in a top speed test obviously. But the 720s has the best launch control of any supercar right now if it's on a good surface
