AN INTERESTING FACT ABOUT WHITBY:
Whitby's bridge was first mentioned in 1351, it was then a wooden structure and this was replaced in 1610. The first drawbridge was erected in 1766, allowing the passage of ships to go up and down the harbour and this was replaced with another version in 1835 which was a swivel bridge. The bridge which is in place today was built by the same company that built the Blackpool tower and was first opened in 1909.

Poor, poor kid - what a ghastly end. My late grandmother, when in service in the 20's, had a friend among the other servants, whose apron ribbons caught alight, and she died in similarly tragic circumstances. Rest in peace, lass.
Mary's ghost would be terrifying to encounter - the eye contact, the smell, the crackling sounds. The poor girl.
So sad…it’s the way that you tell it, that leaves a lasting vision of poor Mary.
My grandmother told me a story like this..

I would say she isn't as the haunting should signify. Let's pray she crosses over and lets go of her fear and hatred.

Could be an evil spirit impersonating her too ya know?
People seem to forget that demons are shape shifters and can change form at will.
I believe this young girl is at peace,and this is just an evil spirit taking her form
