I'm part of the same library system and I have found it to be really frustrating. I'm trying to be patient and let them fix the problem but it's shown me how much I rely on digital access to so many things.
me too! I have been shocked with how thrown I am each day without my audiobooks! Which is your branch, neighbor?
@@sarah-roadworthy Greenwood branch 🙂
@@ariannefowler455 Yes! I love that branch. Our usual go to is Northeast while Greenlake is being remodeled. However, my son likes Greenwood for the study rooms and the numerous tables.
I read Keum Suk Gendry-Kim’s Grass, which is also about a Korean comfort woman (translation by Janet Hong?); a true story told in comics format.
Very powerful.
Do you have lots of podcast options to draw from while your audiobook source is cut off?
I too read Grass. Honestly, this had things in it that were more gruesome. As I recall Gendry-Kim's narrative pulled on interviews with one woman. Since this book pulls from numerous sources, it can include incidents that were perhaps less common. Not that I'm trying to compare the two in terms of misery. More that I was a bit shocked by the myriad practices Soom cites that Gendry-Kim did not.
