I'm astounded by your comprehensive grasp of exactly how diminished executive function plays out technically when it comes to getting things done. You understand our challenges in a way that is exceptional and I don't think I've come across any content like it, except Dr. Russell Barkley. I feel so heard and validated. Thank your parents for the brain they gave you! 😊 Of course I liked and subscribed.

Wow, thank you so much for your kind words. ❤ It makes the hard days and criticism worth it. I will definitely check out your recommendation, thank you! I love an opportunity to learn more strategies for helping folks release the stigma and embrace their ADHD superpowers!!!!

13:53 having a firm important deadline is me right now 😆 I’m moving halfway across the country and we are trying to do it as cost effective as possible and I’ve been decluttering like CRAZY, my husband is so proud of me 🥹 I got rid of three 30 gallon garbage bags full of clothes, and I’ve gotten rid of probably an equivalent of 8 additional garbage bags filled with either trash/junk that I’ve been hoarding or things I haven’t used in over a year 🥹 we are moving at the end of January so we have about a month and I’m actually excited to be starting new, especially since this move I am correctly diagnosed and medicated so getting focused is much easier than our previous move over a year ago 🎉

I too, am proud of you! 🎉🎉 We help clients through that process every month and even with tons of support it's HARD. The fact that you hyperfocused and made it happen is amazing. Well done 👏 ✔ and I hope you treat yourself to a well deserved reward 😀
Best of luck on your move!

As someone who has severe ADHD (and has been struggling with getting myself organized, lol) I would say this is all pretty solid advice on how I would want someone to approach working with me. I really appreciate the points you make on how quickly we get exhausted and how you stress that we're not lazy. I would also like to REALLY stress to folks the importance of visual organization and the need to contain things rather than hide them. Break every step to a task down to its absolute most bare bones down to reaching your hand out to open a cabinet or drawer and try to figure out how you can eliminate as many of those micro-steps as possible, ESPECIALLY if it involves having to leave the area

I’m not a professional organizer, just an ND looking for tips and this came up in my feed. I continued listening just out of curiosity and wanted to commend you for this content. I didn’t even know someone like you existed, but it makes me feel so glad you do, and you’re helping others learn how to help their adhd clients and handle them with care. Kudos.

9:40 New years eve. I'm exhausted but it's pretty tidy for guests after 3 days of hyperfocus and 8 hours of sleep in total. Filled bags everywhere hidden to speed things up. You get the picture.
My mom: "It's okay. This week you can declutter the rest of the house".
    And again, another year passes.

Lol I'm ADD and so are my clients. How funny that I'm advising them on the same things I struggle with... although I've improved a lot😂 The one hand test, I call it motion minded but same concept. One client wants me to do their whole house, probably in only a few hours lol so I will definitely talk to them and manage their expectations. Thanks for the great pointers!

Oh my goodness! This is SO incredibly helpful! I'm considering starting my own decluttering & re- organizing business, so I've been binge watching your channel. My 26 year old daughter and 15 year old son are ADHD, and I now have a game changing strategy to help them stay organized. Thank you so much! I could totally get into working with ADHD people in this business. I see all of what you're saying!

Does anybody know where I can acquire the "H" in ADHD? I only have "ADD" and I could really use some of that "H" to get anything done at all. At least I would get nothing accomplished faster. 🥴

My “H” definitely comes and goes, it tends to be gone more often when I’m not properly medicated but I get it. Sometimes my hyperactivity is just so unproductive that I end up wasting the day 😮‍💨

@@honeydew4576 Usually, that's the first thing they tell me. If not, I ask them what challenges them with getting organized. I ask them about habits and lifestyle to determine what strategies will work best. My ADHD organizing strategies work in most cases either way. 🙂🙂
